Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade - PS5 4K HDR Gameplay (Quality Mode)

Finished this last week - first time I had ever played a FF game- and really loved it, after waiting for the PS5 update from chapter 8.

My only recommendation would be for first timers, is to consider playing it at the easy difficulty, and pick Tifa when given a choice of Tifa or Aerith to check-on, as it altered the action in the game, and I hit a bad difficulty spike in the ending sections, and even when I checked where I was going wrong, the video was of easy mode and different characters arriving to help, so was no help.

I probably spent 5 goes on a 20min penultimate battle, and 10-15 goes on a 20min final battle - and because it won't let change difficulty at this mid battle, and it won't let you save setup at that point, so you need to reconfigure your party before every attempt.

Still loved the game, and hoping the next part will be as great.

Yeah I can't understand why it is not allowed to save between those fights since you can change materias if you lose. I was on hard mode, last fight, to get all manuscripts but wanted to play another game. I have yet to return to it.

But if it is defective... why does it get loud only when playing FFVIIR? And it doesn't seem more demanding than other 60 fps games on PS5. Weird. 🤔

Well if it isn't happening with your PS5 but it is with his it could be a sign that his PS5 is heating up more than it should for some reason.

Could be a defect or maybe he doesn't have it ventilated properly.

PS4 Pro loud?
Oh no, no where near that loud. Its completely tolerable just I could actually notice it. It’s been close to inaudible.
How long did it take to start getting loud? From the veey start?

I played it the day the upgrade was released (60 fps mode) and my PS5 didn't make more noise than playing any other game. Sounds weird.
I was playing for a few hours, maybe 3 to 4 and I was running Around and just noticed what is that audible whooshing sound. Nothing extreme. Stood up and walked forward and was like shit I can hear my ps5 lol.

it wasn’t terrible, just noticeable. Been playing since but for not as long and it’s been pretty much silent.

ps5 is stood up next to my tv, so loads of room.

Oh, I understand. I couldn't tell, I've never played FFVIIR for so long. Besides, the room temperature where I live is never really hot and is probably different from where you live. And to top it all it seems PS5 uses 3 different models of fan, which may be also different in your unit and mine. That makes comparisons very difficult.

I find it a little surprising because I never thought FFVIIR was especially demanding on the hardware compared to other 60 fps games which support Ray Tracing or are 100% next gen, like Spider-Man or Demon's Souls. It didn't even make my PS4 Pro get too loud compared to other games (and my PS4 Pro sounded like a hair dryer when under heavy load). On the other hand due to the way PS5 works power consumption should stay around 200 watts peak in any mode, so heat and fan noise should be the same.

Anyhow, I wouldn't worry, I guess that's the way PS5 is supposed to behave when playing that specific game.
