Not gonna lie, I’m not that into the violent stuff anymore. No virtue signaling or being offended or anything like that, I just don’t see blowing someone’s head off in VR as a good time. I also didn’t care for the slow motion, x ray, zoom in vision as the bullet passed through your target in previous sniper elite games. It’s different when it’s demons or monsters, or there is a cartoon/sci fi/fantasy element, but this is just straight up humans vs humans in a pretty realistic setting.

It just seemed a little gross and unnecessary watching the bullet go through their eye, exploding it, or pass through their abdomen bursting all their organs and crushing any bones in the way… I dunno man just seemed like too much and it was the beginning of me being a little grossed out by games that really go out of their way to turn up the gore. Like, are there really that many people out there that enjoy seeing all of that in slow mo and zoomed up close. It just seems weird that someone would get off on that. Probably gonna pass on this one.

that bullet flight slo-mo camera will more lily wreak the head of the VR user not the enemy NPC.

traditional cinematics should be removed from VR games. everything must be in real-time with perspective always with the viewer

Got really meh reviews so far sadly. Janky controls, under average visuals, ....
Shame, because I was looking forward to a decent Sniper VR game.

Really? I haven't seen too many poor scores. I think just one outlet that I've seen gave it under an 8.

It's not that janky or anything like that. I've been playing on Quest and PC and think it's fantastic. It isn't the greatest game ever but it feels pretty good. Yes there are a few off decisions like throwing the grenade is a button press but I've thrown it naturally a few times and it worked (I forgot how the game wants me to do it).

If you're itching for a decent VR game, grab it.

Sniper Elite VR reviewed by Gabriel Moss on Oculus Quest 2, also available on PlayStation VR, Steam VR (PC), and Oculus VR (PC).

Sniper Elite VR is a decent VR shooter from Rebellion Developments that scratches both World War II and arcade sniping sim itches.
