PS5 is comfortably the market leader in UK

In the context of the tweet, this seems to be the meaning yes. Performance over the first half of the year.
That just doesn't seem to be much to brag about in 2021 when the Switch launched in 2017.

The reverse wouldn't be much to brag about either as the PS5 is more constrained by supply issues.

It’s understandable. Sony had a strong market position going in, so combining that with good marketing and efforts to make early development strong led to a predictable early game lead.

Microsoft also have good products and services, and if they manage to get some strong marketing out there I’m sure they’ll pick up a bit in due course.

Nintendo play Nintendo’s game and Nintendo all the way to the bank, they’re making too much profit to care what position they’re in.

What does it mean they're the market leader? That they're selling more consoles than Nintendo at the moment? Because Switch has obviously more units in the UK than the PS5 overall so far.
Yes, they're selling more consoles than Nintendo at the moment, off course. Is not overall so far.

Very healty for a new platform that is selling very well since launch and is selling more than PS4 in the same time.

Well no surprises here, the hardware is divine but the floodgates for games are opening 8 months too late.
Upcoming months will be interesting though.

As expected but whats the sales breakdown? XSX and XSS are sold out as well. It's just a matter of who shipped the most and it seems this is one of the few things Jim Ryan got right.

Also, this isnt a sprint, it's a marathon so lets not start sucking each other's dicks just yet.
It's more impressive when you consider Microsoft has TWO different consoles for sale where as Sony only has one and that one console is beating two different consoles by the same company.

Means nothing when there is zero available stock of PS5 or Series X, they are still selling every single one they can manufacture so you can't really read much into the demand yet. Not to say that the PS5 probably won't come out on top but the jury is still out until anybody who wants a system can get one.

The only thing you can safely say at this point is that Microsoft's assumption that the Series S would be the mainline system and outsell the X in the UK was completely off target, they sold more Series X consoles despite the stock issues, the S has been in stock for months now and is always available; the consumer seems pretty on the ball with knowing what the S stands for.

And the PS4 has more units in the UK than Switch. That just doesn't seem much to brag about when the market leader launched in 2013.

Isn’t it all related to available stock? Meaning how many units manufacturers delivered to market. XSX is sold out in most of online stores in the uk, XSS is available in most places.

Sir only India and South Africa count toward sales. I have never even heard of this country call UK.
Yeah, sounds like a made-up country, like someone combined "you okay?" to "UK". /s

On a serious note, until we see numbers, nothing much to talk about. PlayStation is expected to lead console sales because they did last gen and they. are in a great position.. As long as Xbox Series consoles sold better than One, they should count that as an improvement/win. We really need hard data to see how these companies are doing with COVID and everything, and how the industry is evolving.

I hope that doesn't make them too cocky like they're above everyone and start forcing things against their player base.
