I'm tired of waiting for the Switch Pro ... so I'll buy a Switch Lite.

There's a rumor that the Switch Pro is going to be docked only. So buying the Switch Lite will allow me to enjoy the Switch games in portable manner. Also, I cannot bear to play Switch games in docked mode at 720p on my 4K TV - they'll look like shit. So, portable format only until Nintendo releases a docked Switch which will support 4K.

Say, how are the graphics in handheld mode in terms of aliasing? Is it noticeable or does the Switch have good anti-aliasing? I remember my nephew showing me Pokemon Sword and Shield in his handheld Switch and I noticed a lot of aliasing.
Buy the normal one

XC2 looking bad? Your standards for looking good must be quite a bit higher than mine.

XCDE was fine but not more than that. Certainly not as great as 2.
Haven't played it yet, but I don't want to experience similar blurriness to the dynamic resolution in XCDE, which dropped below 720p as soon as you move the camera around a bit.

I don't know what the specific deal is with XC2, but I've heard people say "blurry" a lot, although I think they might often be referring to handheld mode

If you get stick drift on your regular switch you can buy a new controller, if you get it on the lite you need to buy a new console...

Unsure why people don't just pay the extra considering you get access to docked mode too.

You want a switch and ask stupid question about Antialiasing and graphics... Buy it and see yourself or watch a YouTube video And secondly I find you and everyone on this planet that say switch has 720p games and my TV is 400k and it will be shit because of reasons, IDIOTS. With big letters, put on your switch mario odyssey and then come back saying bullshit like that. Every Nintendo game looks beautiful on any big tv

You're an asshole, and your claim that 720p looks beautiful on a 4k TV is the single most assinine thing a person capable of speech could utter out of his mouth. Complete utter idiocy. You should be ashamed of being so fucking stupid.

See? I can be an ass, too!

I love you, you are the most beautiful person in the world. All are words typed by a keyboard, they don't affect me. I dont know you personally to get affected by words. You just have some stupid ideology that you need to read specs sheets instead of playing the games and finding that they are gorgeous and fun.

Or maybe I just have functioning eyes and see 720p images on a 4k TV for what they are: puke city. You can choose to be unaffected by it, but calling people idiots for actually caring about image quality is just that, asinine.

Oh, and the fact that you felt the need to insult someone with Caps just for having an opinion indeed proves how 'little' words affect you. Hypocricy at its finest.

I don't get you, why you want to buy switch if the graphics is your main driving force. And not it does not affect me, I just wanted to emphasize that word. Sorry if you felt bad, it's just my opinion you don't have to feel bad because someone has some stupid opinion.

I don't know, why does everyone bitches about Bloodborne not getting a 4k/60fps patch for months now?

I want my games to both look good *and* play good. Settling for mediocrity is not my jam. The switch has good stuff, but in my tv they'll look like shit. Many people are waiting for a switch pro for the same reason.

Why is this so hard to get?

I understand you, but the games look good. You said that you can't wait and want to buy lite, so I have switch and a Samsung q80t a TV that costed nearly 2000 when I bought it. I want to see good image quality and not muddy shit but the games I played all look good on the TV except Pokémon that is a disaster. Now you have to expect it's not sony or rockstar good but they are beautiful and fun games. But lite is not good option because the normal switch is handheld you can buy extra joycons if they break( they do) and you can try the quality of the games in your big screen yourself without hearing idiots like me on a website. I wish you good luck

Other than gaming forum like NeoGAF, majority people not all that obsess with high tech graphics like this place is.

If graphic is that important to you then I suggest you to wait until Switch “pro” or whatever next system called comes out.

Until then play the systems you currently have.

To be fair, the newest of the newest new newest tvs have better and better upscaling techniques to make 720p signals look less shitty, but they still have a long way to go, IMO.

The 'problem' is that I want to get my hands on a switch but with the pro rumored to be just around the corner I hesitate to fork out 300 bucks for an inferior (once the pro is announced) model.

Anyways, sorry for the rant back there. Being called names for expressing my opinion is a personal button of mine. Peace.

My gf bought RE8 for the original Xbox one and she did not care that the game did not look that impressive and she enjoyed it while people here were checking the FPS compare threads

I bought a Lite some months ago and I decided to give it back... I played Zelda Botw and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and it was.... hard xD the only problem is that I really liked Zelda and the waiting for pro version is becoming tough

That's more of a console warring thing. But we're not the average consumer, we're hardcore hobbyists.

Hard to play? Hard to look at?

Like I say in every Switch Lite thread:
- bought mine at launch, used it over 1,000 hours at least, still works fine with no drift;
- you cannot go back to normal Switch after using the Lite, it handles awfully, it’s big, has this weird buzzing noise;
- on paper TV mode is great, but 900p SDR with no upscaling is painful. MHRise looks ok handheld but on a big TV the illusion fades;
- but if you think you’ll use TV mode you should buy a normal Switch.

Majority of people simply want to enjoy the game instead of counting pixels. Graphic whoring is just another ammo for console warning and fanboysim.

FPS drops were very common and in general the games did not work smoothly and in my opinion the screen is too small for such kind of games (xenoblade and zelda). If today Nintendo says that there wont be a pro version I will get a regular switch instead a lite, I think the lite version is more to play 20 minutes while you go in public transport or something like that.

I resent that remark! My graphic whoring is all about the pixels, not console wars. If I view a comparison video it's because I want to figure out what is the best version to buy.

Not everything is about console wars.

A docked only switch would defeat the entire purpose and marketing of the hybrid device

What a weird rumor

Switch is called Switch because it switches between the two modes

That makes 0 sense
Pro anything for me. Need something before Tensei V.

You may as well buy either the normal Switch or the Lite if you want to play Switch games anytime soon.

I'm sure the Switch Pro will be hit by the same scalper bullshit PS5 and XSX have had since they launched.

Honestly I’m in the same boat. I’m gonna want to play Metroid Dread, and probably also No More Heroes 3, but I just don’t really want a Switch at all. If I got one it would probably collect dust after I played those games until Prime 4 came out. I don’t want to invest a lot of money so I’m leaning towards a Lite. But then all I see online is how shoddy it is and how the regular Switch is the better option to avoid getting screwed too much by stick drift.

I really hate the Joycons. They’re super uncomfortable and the control sticks are terrible, so I would want to get a Pro controller. It would be nice if the WiiU pro controller was compatible since it’s the same button layout sans gyro. People can call the WiiU Gamepad Fischer Price toy all they want but at least it has real control sticks and is way more comfortable than holding a Switch in portable mode.

I also have this gut feeling that if I buy a Switch when Metroid Dread comes out, Nintendo will pull a “New3DS” next year and Prime 4 will require the updated model, like Xenoblade did on n3DS. I can just feel that they’re gonna do something scummy like that because they’ve gotten really greedy with the Switch.
