5 seconds later they look the sameVery true, PS5 seems to have better assets/sharper. Look at the helmet lines and the breather. So better IQ and FPS.

Looks like series x Wins again with much higher resolution
I wonder if XsX has to adjust resolution there?5 seconds later they look the same
There is always a cost. You are paying with your time. I also collect MS reward points on a daily basis, but I know there is a cost attached to it. So I'll never say i's free.
If it takes just 5 minutes to collect the daily rewards, then you are spending roughly 150 minutes per month. 150 minutes is 2.5 hours. If you earn $15 per hour, then that's $37.50 for roughly 12,000 points per month, which gets you a $15 1-month GPU subscription.
Yea, this is why I don't like responding to you. I have already explain in my respond why cut scence is not irrelevant and this is the answer i got from you. We are testing the performance here and cutscene use to count resolution and frame rate. See Digital foundry testing graphic card. A big portion of their is best on cut scene. Now go tell DF how irrelevant their testing here. Psst.Because it has no impact on gameplay.
Something isn't right with the Series X version in that pic, it looks worse than S.
Hopefully they patch it.
Wow. You really said it. Where do you read series X hit higher resolution more often?XSX lowest = 3200x1800 = 5,760,000 pixels
PS5 lowest = 3072x1728 = 5,308,416 pixels
That is over an 8% difference. Not to mention Xbox series X hits the higher resolution more often than PS5 so it could be even higher and the 1fps difference (lol) is gone with VRR.

I doubt it. In Bo's pic it looks worse than the sxs. Almost like out of focus or something. Could be a bug? No clue.I wonder if XsX has to adjust resolution there?
Loot at "I'm not an Xbox fanboy but a gamer enthusiastic".Conveniently omitted from the stats...
If you're into that subscription crap you can just get EA Play and get the game on PS5 "without any additional cost". Stop pedalling gamepass in unrelated threads.Actually, the resolution is much better on Xbox series x (check the description) and has VRR support for those 1fps differences which isn't noticeable to begin with. Also, how is xbox game pass not a factor? If you own Xbox game pass, you get the game without any additional cost. More options = better experience.

Nah, EA play is okay, but with xbox game pass is a much better deal. Way more games and even some that run at 120 fps.If you're into that subscription crap you can just get EA Play and get the game on PS5 "without any additional cost". Stop pedalling gamepass in unrelated threads.
Yeah, nah. I don't know what you guys are seeing.best get down specsavers pal

Tbh even if it was the rumoured 9.2 Tf I thought it still be a good system and not that much difference when playing games between the two systems outside these these threads. When Github happened I thought things would be a lot worse.
So happy that WeakStation 5 turned out to be a load of BS.
Yeah, nah. I don't know what you guys are seeing.
I even tried with my reading glasses
5 seconds later they look the same
Yes your right. I have to admit I got mixed up with the Metro thread and I'm not sure the resolution advantage was constant in that game.Maybe it would, but here we are not talking about 8% difference in average resolution, but in MAXIMUN RESOLUTION, which is totally different. The average resolution difference could be less than 1%, and I don't think that's something we can call "massive".
Ok, I see it now. Thanks.
Seems to be fixed a few seconds later:
Did you read the description VGtech post? The max resolution is the most common resolution not the lower bound. The same for frame rate drop, the most common frame rate is close not the 10 fps the ps5 have over the series x. Read my post, I pointed out the other poster can't use the 8 percent resolution as average. The same that we can't use the scence when ps5 has 10 fps as average. This is not win for either system as I posted ealier. The game has dynamic resolution though, have you pixel counted the scene? Do you know the scaler just didn't kick in a bit later which is why it seems to instantly return to 60fps?
I think the one major drop looking at the stats isn't even in gameplay anyway so is completely irrelevant, people love to talk about cherry picking screenshots and come out with a cutscene as proof of something....
So yeah VRR which is not just a feature of your TV but your console too will give you perfect performance here, also you once again get a higher resolution image.
5 seconds later they look the same
i watched the entire video, Xbox has a lot more drops than the ps5, it's smoother on ps5, vrr, how many people have that in the mainstream, not many.Looks like series x Wins again with much higher resolution and on xbox game pass.
Dude I got 31,000 points last month. Step yo game up.There is always a cost. You are paying with your time. I also collect MS reward points on a daily basis, but I know there is a cost attached to it. So I'll never say i's free.

You know the difference between 900p and 1080 is about 40% right?8% better which was enough for the whole 1080p vs 900p debate.
VRR is awesome, all the framerate dips you saw for PS5 as well is gone with VRR meaning XSX has better FPS.
Xbox game pass means you get the better version for no extra cost if you already have it which looks like most already do.
They're proving why Game Pass is just plain amazing with that argument.
These threads are more like getting a retelling by a layman of the forensics at a murder scene. They have the ability to repeat what they have seen or read without understanding what it actually means to get the whole picture. It's nothing but trying to justify their own position.Oh I agree but the trend has become to point out the XSX % advantages in specs but never the % advantages in specs of the Ps5.
And they are close but these threads are like a forensics at a murder scene.
Yeah probably just a little bug. I had no streaming issues on a pretty shitty nvme.Seems like assets streaming issue.
My argument was that the majority of people don't have VRR enabled/HDMI 2.1 TVs. The amount that has both a 2.1 TV and a next-gen console is even lower.Your argument was that hardly anyone has VRR enabled TVs, which isn't exactly true as older TVs are getting updates to support it and a lot of new TVs have it or will get it via an update.
...what? What sort of fucked up non-sequitur is that? The fact that the general population doesn't have widespread access to PS5s is irrelevant to this argument. Who cares? The majoritry of people that do have next-gen consoles don't have HDMI 2.1 TVs.PS5s are right now hard to get and very few actual customers have it when you consider the scalpers. Making your whole point moot about most people not having VRR supported tvs when most people don't have PS5s.
Right click the game icon and go down to Game Version, see if PS5 is selected.how do you know you’re running the upgraded ps5 version and not just the ps4 one? I updated the game on ps5 but it looks pretty much the same as I remember it on PS4 pro, except maybe the frame rate feels better

Okay, so you moved the goal post again. Now it's about who owns the console (small amount of people to begin with) and who owns the VRR tv. My first question is how do you know who owns the VRR compatible TV and who doesn't? Wouldn't it not make sense for the usual gaming enthusiasts who buy these consoles at launch to own a good TV with VRR support? You can find some of these TVs that aren't expensive and they have been out longer than these next gen consoles so it isn't exactly new. Not to mention there are TVs out there that are getting VRR support for free in an update. My argument was that the majority of people don't have VRR enabled/HDMI 2.1 TVs. The amount that has both a 2.1 TV and a next-gen console is even lower.

VRR doesn't cover the actual performance. VRR will eventually be on both consoles and the actual performance will still come in to play and will not be ignored.Everybody keeps missing this very important detail. Performance is pretty much already perfect even before VRR, but VRR isn't just a display feature, it's also a built in feature of the console. So folks continuing to disregard its impact are missing the larger point. VRR has been a gamechanger for Series X from the start. The other console not supporting it so far isn't the fault of people who keep singing VRR's praises.
There are 5 people that prefer the duel sense when playing.Okay, so you moved the goal post again. Now it's about who owns the console (small amount of people to begin with) and who owns the VRR tv. Should we also ignore the fact XSX have features like Quick resume to play games faster without having to sit and wait between multiple load screens and splash screens?
In your game library, each game has a badge that mentions either PS5 or PS4.how do you know you’re running the upgraded ps5 version and not just the ps4 one? I updated the game on ps5 but it looks pretty much the same as I remember it on PS4 pro, except maybe the frame rate feels better
It's larger than the framerate difference, yet people are acting like that is important. That's pretty small and it's an edge case in this game and not the average.
Resolution drops seem to be rare. It's larger than the framerate difference, yet people are acting like that is important.
Thats because minor fps dips are significantly more noticeable while playing than slight or even moderate resolution differences. This is why, for me personally, its annoying that games seem to favor resolution in these instances over frame rate (on XsX). Unless its the XsX itself that has issues with dynamic resolution. It's larger than the framerate difference, yet people are acting like that is important.

Native resolution pixel counts at 2560x1440 seem to be common on PS5 and Xbox Series X in Performance Mode.Series X wins.
In the Stats page, it shows PS5 with 16 frames out of 21700 that arent 60 fps, and Series X is 29 frames out 21700.
Have fun playing the game and trying to figure out the 13 frames advantage which arent running at 60 fps.
I'll take a res bump as it'll apply more holistically across the game than 13 frames out of 21700 that run at higher frames.
Series X wins.

And no one here would know frame drops without these sites doing it either. But given the information, Series X wins.So you're ignoring the frame-rate drops because it doesn't go with your narrative?
No one here would know the resolution drops without DF, NX Gamer of VG Tech stats. We could use the same logic with that.
