No. I prefer to buy over to rent, and I prefer Sony exclusives over MS exclusives.
I'm not a shooters or WRPG guy, never bought Bethesda games, L4D or similar games, and never have been interested on the previous Psychonauts, A Plague of Tales, Flight Simulator or Outer Worlds games. I prefer action adventure single player games and fighting games.
Most of the games shown in the conference were multiplatform games that also are going to be released on PS5 (the 3rd party stuff plus at least Fallout 76 and Elders Scrolls Online stuff) either day one or after a timed console exclusive.
Regarding the exclusive games, Forza Horizon looks amazing as usual in the series. Halo didn't look awesome as it should but at least didn't look bad as before, I need to see more about it. The other new MS games show for the first time like Starfield, Contraband, Outer Worlds 2 and Redfall only had a CG and a logo, so we don't know how their gameplay is.
My most anticipated upcoming MS game is Hellblade II, and Antoniades said yesterday they are still working on the vertical slice and still didn't move to full production, which means they are still years away from releasing the game.
I don't have a ton of time to play, have a huge backlog and select carefully the games I play. So once MS releases a few exclusive games I want to play I'll get a few months of GP on my gaming PC, no need to buy an Xbox. I'll play all the multis (that in many cases perform better on PS5) and Sony exclusives on PS5 the rest of the time, plus some Nintendo exclusive on Switch or indie I want to play on portable from time to time.
I will probably buy one as soon Hellblade 2 lands on the system.
Taneem Antoniades, the guy in charge of the game, said yesterday they are still building the vertical slice of the game and still didn't enter full production. I assume because they are waiting for the UE5 full release. This means the game is several years away from being released.
As of now it's a pretty CG/ 'in-engine' cutscene running on a NASA PC. We don't know how its gameplay will be, and since we still have to see the game we don't know if will be good or not.
Bethesda games never have been appealing to me, but their fans said that their most recent games Fallout 76 and Elders Scrolls Online were pretty bad at least at launch compared to previous games from the studio (Fallout 3 and Skyrim) so I wouldn't bet on it and instead will wait to see gameplay and specially reviews.
In theory it will be released like a year and a half from now, but since the game seems to be pretty ambitious, knowing they had many issues at launch in consoles with several games and now that will be a key exclusive for MS I think they will have pretty careful with it, so since they didn't show gameplay I think it won't be released until at least H2 2023.
