Halo Infinite Official Multiplayer Reveal

Except for the entirely dead and irrelevant multiplayer a month or 2 post launch.

By your logic, shouldn't you just fuck off to games that aren't Halo if you apparently need sprint to play them?

Not even going to bother with your other arguments. They've all been entirely destroyed countless times over the last 10 years.
Yikes.

Looks terrible but could be dumb fun. Show an actual match so we can see what it really looks like. That female announcer was horrible.

Stop chatting shit the Multiplayer was not dead what so ever, I've been involved in that community for along time and Halo 5 has been strong for a very long time

It had less players than the 2 year old Battlefield 4 which was broken and unplayable for 4-6 months post launch.

It had less than 30,000 players on at peak times. Coming from Halo 3 which would have 400,000+. Finding ranked games outside of potato tier could take hours. It was dead and irrelevant.

Notice how he doesn't demonstrate being able to shoot and throw grenades while going backwards or sideways?

Also notice how he demonstrates the mechanics breaking map design but acts like its a good thing?

I did. Did you?

Uh you could always exploit map design in halo the tools to do so are just different to do so than they were in 2007 - which by the way you can play those games still in MCC. What a take

Name a single Halo game where you could drop off a ledge that isn't intended to be jumped up but instantly get back up 20 times in a row. I'll wait.

So you’re specifically talking about dropping off a ledge then getting back up? Or are you talking about breaking map design
Jesus christ.....

It's an example of how broken it is.

How about just willy nilly jumping through the front window basement to flag on a whim? Another piece of map design that is broken. If you don't understand how and why paths exist and are limited by design then there is no reason continuing this conversation with someone who has virtually zero concept of the argument.

Just because there isn't a physical wall between you and a location, doesn't mean to should just spam a clamber button to get there.

This isn't even going into the fact that you need to always look in the right direction and get into animations that stop the 3 main things of Halos combat just to do the most basic and rudimentary jumps.

Funny how every Halo that has added sprint dies and is entirely irrelevant shortly after launch.

Care to explain why Halo 3 is currently the most popular Halo game? I wonder if it could have something to do with it not having trashy "modern" gameplay mechanics that don't belong

Hey I found the perfect forum for you to keep spouting nonsensical bullshit

you’ll fit right in 😃👍

As a Bungie fanboy I had very low expectations for this and I'm impressed actually. I don't still have high hopes for single player but multiplayer gave Halo3/Reach vibes, both of which I played for thousands of hours.

/edit: sorry for reposting this... =\

My main concern still is the whole "enhanced mobility" thing.

Taken apart in 30 seconds in this 2017 video.

I used to believe this stuff and I still would prefer no sprint but I've been reading some painting this video as a common myth. You can do more with the current implementation of sprint in ways he never showed in this video

Halo Infinite has sprint, and that's a good thing. - YouTube

To be honest im just so tired of the whole sprint debate, I would rather not have it in the game anymore but it's unreal the amount of friends I've had try the game and complain about the lack of sprint. Fuck it man

Yep, so many arena players have blinders on. All on guess what...arena maps. When you start to play the larger modes like Warzone or Firefight you can easily see how traversal and mobility is quite different with Halo 5.

I found the gunplay and mobility wonderful. I found things like being in a gun battle strafing back left then jump diagonal right then thruster in the air back and left again fucking random and annoying. It became too much of a dance at high levels TBH. Things like slide, jump and combining momentum are brilliant. Things like clamber in directions different to your momentum are good. However random elements when combining them were too much in Halo 5 during battles.

This is where I become a broken record about how well Respawn and Apex Legends move into a sandbox that pleases more players and keeps the predictability e.g. no wall running, no thrusters but kept the sprint + sldie + jump. There is also more predictability for things like character abilities over say Infinite's reveal of "saving a powerup to use at any time". You know what the character is capable of doing just by seeing them. For me this is a huge area 343 will really have to prove the new Halo sandbox up against competitors like Apex Legends. We will see how well they really get Halo and it's core of predictable and punishable movement and enagement flows.

This Thread is embarrassing.

Almost universal praise across the Internet and still some of you who likely have zero interest in this game still posting shitty hot takes or moaning about sprint.

Shared this with my old Halo buds, looks like we are teaming back up, cant wait.

Its hilarious honestly, showed a bunch of buddies this gameplay who don't really play halo and they thought it looked great graphically and very fun. Come in here and people are ready to raid 343 HQ and burn it down

Gameplay > Graphics

The fans have expressed that they wanted the old aesthetic back, but that doesn't mean 343 made a bad game.
The old aesthetic back? Check. Largely retconned the last game's story? Check. More focus on social games and bringing back BTB? Check. Have it take place on a Halo? Check. Bring back focus on sandbox elements in MP? Check. Removal of loot boxes? Check. No Proemethan enemies? Check.

This is much more than an "aesthetic change".

I think 343 secretly just wants to make something different than Halo. 5's campaign still sucked balls though. I'm hyped for Infinite's MP. The SP storyline died with Halo 3 for me. I'm soo glad they brought back BTB. That is my favorite mode in Halo
Yeah they definitely wanted to do their own thing and try and define themselves in their own right and not just be known for riding on Halo's success, I get it but it's not what we wanted. I really liked Halo 4's story but the campaign gameplay wise was dog shit (worst version of the Prometheans and boring missions) but a meaningful story, incredible graphics and great music. Halo 5 was the complete opposite dog shit campaign but great multiplayer.

But fr man glad BTB is the focus once again

Halo 5's campaign was way too short and I think the ratio of how much you played Chief was not good. That's probably my biggest gripe since it was handled better in Halo 2. Just hope they stick to Chief and any other playable character always remains secondary in that regard (unless it's an Arbiter focused storyline).

Universal praise is meaningless when 90% of the community doesn't engage anymore.

What are your thoughts on this multiplayer reveal?

343 still doesn't understand that sprint does not, cannot and will not work in Halo.

Many things are still unknown. Does the retardorifle still have a headshot multiplier? Does the game still have babies first fps levels of aim assist?

343 have finally unfucked the art design of the game atleast and the flagnum stupidity has finally been removed.

It's funny that apparently Halo 5 was so amazing that 343 have back tracked on so much of what made Halo 5, Halo 5.

Looks like Halo 3 was the core template for this one - awesome.
Of course sprint was going to be in there - I would prefer it wouldnt be there, but im ok with it. The #1 thing my friends complain about playing old Halo games these days - is the lack of sprint - even people I played Halo with since 2004.

Love, love, love that equipment like the grapple hook is a pickup and not an "everybody has one" ability.
Theres going to be so many possibilities with that grapple - I can see grappling downed rockets and blasting the peeps who were rushing for it.

I couldnt tell if side boosting/thrusting was in there but Im guessing no? Thats probably for the best.
BTB map hadta be Valhalla 2.0, no?

As a near daily MCC MP player, im very happy with this.

Good lord relax. Halo 5 MP didn’t suck as bad as you want it to.

Halo 5 didn't suck, nor did its art style, but it was bad "Halo" and a bad art style for a "Halo" game. That's what's at issue. The changes made for a still good combat experience but it ceased to feel like a halo game and the same goes for the art style.

The only thing genuinely bad about 5 across any perspective was the campaign.

Looks pretty fun. Reminds me of a cross or hybrid of Halo 2 and 3 with mashing Destiny and Warzone into the mix. I hope they stay true to the BattlePass content. I believe BLoPs (Treyarch) 4 said it was only going to be cosmetic, and it was, until about a year or so later then weapon skins and eventually, weapons started showing up. I like the free-to-play aspect, but I also like having everything available to unlock through playing that's not tied to a season or Battlepass too. I look forward to seeing how the demo goes and what the community thinks about it. It'll be fun to see how the pro-level players use the different systems to their advantage and match up with each other.
