Worst E3 In Recent Memory?

I can’t think of an E3 that’s had so little decent games Square-Enix brought us chaos, TakeTwo brought a podcast about Diversity seriously what is going on? Is it just me or is this the worst E3 in recent memory.

Hopefully Nintendo brings the pain tomorrow I could do with seeing some actual games this week, and also small shout out to Microsoft FairPlay to them tbh they’ve had the best showing so far.

E3 as you remember it is never going to return. You can't have massive publishers like Nintendo, Sony, and EA just avoid E3 without degrading the importance of it. It probably going to become an event just dominated by Microsoft that a few smaller publishers will glom onto.
Yeah I mean some big players have shown up but they’ve got nothing to talk about or show.

I don't think its the worst, I enjoyed a good bit of announcements and updates. Plenty of games I'm looking forward to, including titles releasing this year. Some companies could have benefited from holding out this year, or having their titles added in with larger publishers (Square-Enix comes to mind). But maybe a part of the licensing deal with Marvel was a showcase event for future games?

I don't know, I got at least one meme out of it which is great, and I enjoyed the Xbox show. Still some events to look forward to as well, Capcom definitely has my attention today. If Dragons Dogma 2 is announced I'll be so thrilled, another 3rd person RE or Dino Crisis and man top tier. Then Nintendo also is very high up on my list of anticipated shows. So many games I want to see from them, plus potential surprises is always nice. Then sometime later I imagine Sony will have their totally not E3 show too which could be good. I want more games that push the DualSense.

I've not really considered these covid E3's as proper ones tbh.....not really bothered what happens with E3 in the future either.
I mean the studios have obviously found a way to work through the pandemic by this point I’m not downplaying the carnage it’s caused but…Why go to E3 with little to no substance?

It's not the worst because there's a solid focus on indies and contrary to AAA-studios there's a lot of refreshing and interesting stuff coming out in that area.

But E3 is for the AAA-megatons and hype, and there's literally nothing. Elden Ring is probably the most hyped thing of E3 and that wasn't even officially an E3 thing [I guess].

There's sooooo much coming out in 2022 [supposedly] and soooo little in 2021 it's hard to care about any of it if it's fucking 18 months out.

I mean you’ve sort of echoed my original statement 😂 Square was awful, Xbox happy for them, TakeTwo may as well have never came.

The only thing that’s truly excited me is Elden Ring but I think that was SGF not E3 so really for me it’s been awful.

I feel you, but in all honesty its all around the same time basically latching onto the zeitgeist of the "E3" moment when gamers(consumers) may be more attuned to announcements from media outlets they follow. Its all still E3 to me man. Call it whatever they want, its like throwing a party across the street, just happens to be the same holiday. News is news. All I care about is the games so I'm not taking personal stock in any of the corporate performances. Most of the news I've watched later after the trailers have been uploaded in a decent resolution.

Yeah BotW2 is one of my most hyped, really looking forward to see where they take the sequel. I want to see more of SMTV as well, and anything Monolith Soft related.

Wasn't monolith working on a Zelda project? I vaguely remember there being some rumours about that, And yeah SMTV should be good I’d like to see a new Mario Kart or maybe a new Mario sports title like strikers.

It was boring and soulless and when I think of the worse conferences on the past, at least they were funny.

Maybe Nintendo wins E3 doesn’t seem hard to do so… but hopes are low

Makes me wonder how many of the leaks will come true since several have. Rumors of an updated Mario Kart, but I'm not sure about what Monolith Soft have been up to lately. While I too am getting a bit tired of the ports I'd really like to see Xenoblade Chronicles X get ported to Switch, I don't want to snag it for my Wii U. It would make sense if Monolith helps Zelda again with the world design.

MS did really well.

Nintendo will bring home the bacon like always.

Devolver had 1 game I was genuinely interested in.

Elden Ring looks cool. Avatar also seems okay. Mario Rabbids 2 is exciting for me.

Not the worst E3 ever. Not the best.

It's definitely changed from previous years. I like that Microsoft has stayed around, but I have a hard time with the flow of information and being able to watch extended looks at games after the announcements were over. There really aren't that many streams to watch and information is all over the place. It's hard to keep track of anything when there are so many silos of information instead of one place. I will miss the E3 of old, but it's probably going to be drip-fed throughout the year and Publishers/Developers making their own events and streams to show off their big titles. I hope that it goes back to old, but it rarely does. We could also be in a season where there aren't that many big AAA games ready to be shown or come out too.

Worth it for MS alone so far, and hopefully Nintendo. Have to say I don’t like the way it’s all going. Geoff Keeley is a lizard person and E3 is made up of 90% purple hair twitterati boot lickers.

I feel as though Microsoft have no excuse given the amount of studios they own, However so far they’ve shown the most games period. Elden Ring looks great, I forgot about Mario Rabbids that should be good I disagree wholeheartedly about this being not the worst it’s totally the worst.

I’ve never seen an industry become politically enveloped so fast with the same spiel and narrative from every corner it’s crazy and I feel this E3 was actually more about how companies wish to be perceived, Not about games.

I don't know, the Shenmue 3 Kickstarter begging on stage at the Sony E3 a few years back was one of the all-time lows I can remember.
Say what you want about the quality of Shenmue 3, the fact a sequel to a dead franchise was announced after so many years was awesome.

The Powers TV show spot was septic. 30 minutes of shit
