Netflix Reveals Cast of Live Action Resident Evil Series

Revealed as part of Netflix's Geeked Week, the cast of Resident Evil was unveiled and will notably see Lance Reddick playing the character of Albert Wesker. Reddick will be joined by Ella Balinska, Tamara Smart, Siena Agudong, Adeline Rudolph, and Paola Nunez as the show's primary cast. Outside of Reddick having been confirmed to play Wesker, however, Netflix hasn't said who the other actors in the show will be portraying.

Based on the reports that we have heard about this Resident Evil TV series, the show is going to center around Wesker and his children, which are characters that never appeared in the video game iteration of the franchise. As such, this is likely why Netflix continues to stress that this is a "new" version of Raccoon City that is being established.

As for when Resident Evil will be hitting Netflix, well, that's something else we aren't sure about right now. As previously stated, production is said to be ongoing at this point in time which means that it can't be too far away. A debut in either late 2021 or early 2022 seems likely, but again, Netflix has committed to no launch windows of this sort in an official capacity.

You sure this is resident evil, and not a reboot of friends?

Lance Reddick is.... Albert Wesker. When he's not scheming with his secret cabal of mad scientists he's just a single father, struggling to shepherd his daughters through love and life as they enter the frenzied world of adulthood in New Raccoon City

Anyway, I don't expect much when it comes to live action Resident Evil stuff.

FUCK YEA! Love Lance Reddick!!!!

Why are they all women?

The series has lots of women....Claire, Rebecca, Ada Wong, Jill etc They might have something to do with the Wesker Children Project thing. I'm hype for any thing Resident Evil so this is a day 1 binge watch.

This doesn't have to do anything with the game universe, the Wesker project was a failure and everyone died except Albert and Alex(and Albert died on a 🌋)
althpugh there was another Wesker who designed the project in the first place, lol it would be funny if this is show elaborated on that

Because we already having a proper movie reboot from a fan of the REmake titles, and Infinite Darkness wich fits into the canon(awful as it may be) this is the crazy one. honestly not interested unless it has lots of comedy or something to stand out from the countless Netflix shows released every year.

Thats false.

Its literally about Wesker......a person that clearly dies in RE5 sooooooooo you know not what they are doing with the story. Could be a prequel, he could be back from the dead etc.

"the Wesker project was a failure" I know....thats why i stated this....

"They might have something to do with the Wesker Children Project thing." As in, they did something else, continued it, or its about when it was going on or a splinter of that project etc. The fact that im even fucking referencing that should actually show you I might...you know, maybe know it wasn't successful IN THE GAME, that doesn't mean the show can't be about one of those projects actually working.

So I'd wait to see it first.

How much can you change and still call it Resident Evil? :goog_unsure:
Its dumb but this is the silly show, Netflix already getting a canon CG show, and new gritty movie reboot releasing on november.

This new Raccoon City thing looks like Resident Evil for teenage girls, wich could be a fun watch if you don't take it seriously

I don't even know if I could say it's dumb or silly because I haven't seen it...

Keep in mind the Resident Evil Universe in regards to its story is so all over the place that even as a fan of the series myself I simply don't take much of the story that seriously I would argue the best stories they've ever made have actually been for what we're seeing now with Resident Evil 7 and 8.

Anything else has always been all over the place. So one could argue anything in regards to the Resident Evil storyline is fun to play if you don't take it seriously because I would argue that literally is the Resident Evil story in a nutshell. So then having a movie that's gritty that's similar to the older games is not really that surprising because the story in terms of going from horror to something more action already occurred that way in the game series itself where we went from horror Mansion type things to globe-trotting with bazookas and people getting killed in volcanoes and shit lol

So I'm open to watch anything they put out.

"althpugh there was another Wesker who designed the project in the first place, lol it would be funny if this is show elaborated on that" Could be. The universe is already so wild and all over the place, they have lots of room to work.

@peter42O "Lance Reddick is awesome but in no way, shape or form should he be portraying Wesker. SMH." I disagree, that dude can play any creepy person and I see no reason why he couldn't play Wesker.

Reddick is a great actor, which means this series will not be absolute shit so I'm okay with him being Wesker.

Makes me feel better about not having been subbed to Netflix for about 6 months now.
It was hard to allow myself to drop Netflix. My wife and I talked about it for months, but it was just so hard to pull that trigger. When I finally quit it, it felt like a relief. I’ve never looked back.

I watched jupiter's legacy with the wife and I must have zoned out very hard because I don't remember a single thing. That's a new record for having watched a full season. Specially because I was replying to whatever she was saying about it at the time :messenger_tears_of_joy:

As for resi, I don't particularly wouldve gone with a black wesker but this is a franchise where people mutate into monsters, come back from the dead, Chris redfield goes from punching boulders to skinny dude with a totally different face, etc etc. Is this really where we draw the line?

At least Reddick is an awesome actor.

What?
I thought the other thread was about that new CGI show that's coming out. They are making a new live TV show too???
Don't I feel dumb.

Reddick is for sure a good actor but I'm old skool and like the actors to resemble the characters in some sort of way. This whole 'woke' generation needs to fuck off.

I wonder if they did a survey with actual resident evil fans and asked them 'would you like to see' woke' casting?'... How many would actually say yes? I feel it would be a very small percentage.
