watched a bunch of reviews. So far it seems great. Not having Rivet be her own character is really odd tho? Why add a new character just to give them the same moveset? Seems like such a half step.

I have no nostalgia for these games. I never played them on ps2 or ps3. I think i had a copy of the PSP game? I played a good bit of the PS4 game. I like it. But it was a little boring. Just not my style maybe. I like platformers. I like shooters. Maybe i dont like platform shooters idk.

Hum? I find R&C gameplay way ahead Spider-man gameplay…

One is fun and engaging… other is boring and repetitive.

Shooting is pretty good in this new R&C imo.

Alright, not to be a R&C warrior but seriously, have you played any of the previous games? Most notably the PS3 ones?

The platforming, shooting mechanics and everything else in the game is nearly flawless and you're right, these mechanics are largely ripped from the PS2 era because that's when Insomniac designed these mechanics and they work wonderfully. I can't speak for this new one specifically but the mainline entries have always included new things. If it's not your thing, that's cool, but if you've never played any of the games I would really hold off on dumping on it until you do. You'd probably be pleasantly surprised.

eh I dont know. Sony games get downgraded all the time. TLOU2, Days Gone and Ghost of Tshushima got some lighting downgrades. TLOU2 enemy character faces got a downgrade. Uncharted 4 had that infamous reveal trailer running at 1080p 60 fps.

But they also get upgrades all the time as well. Horizon Zero Dawn, Uncharted 5, and now Ratchet all look better than their original gameplay demos. Horizon looks to be on par with its reveal trailer last year. Demon Souls, Returnal didnt get any downgrades either. I dont think speculating on any potential downgrades is a cardinal sin. These things happen all the time in this industry. As long as its not as bad as Watch Dogs and Anthem, it's ok to speculate.

Most sony games have both downgrades and upgrades, uncharted 4 had that fake trailer but the forest gameplay section was better in the final game, horizon had multiple tallneck on screen at the same time, completely absent in the final game (and people ask why we need a better cpu and gpu in the sequel for massive scale battles, smh), but almost everything else got upgraded, days gone got a graphic update but the hordes don't move quite as well as the reveal demo, etc.

I think it's better than most publishers tbh.
