Ask me about my fanboy energy!
Same as Windows Sonic actually.Tempest Engine is better anyways.

Not a bad purchase, it does stand quite well and has lots of pros. Only big cons for me is the 1080p UI (disable all the image hacks in your TV and calibrate it and you will notice even some pixelation in some components, IMHO some people that do not notice anything have odd TV settings ) and for the moment the lack of MS first party exclusive titles (and the XSS ), but aside from the that is a great console to have.that's it i'm buying an xbox sx
Says you… we shall see .Same as Windows Sonic actually.
TBH, I really dont see the difference between dolby atmos, dolby vision and all these new features. my tv supports dolby vision but i cant tell the difference. my soundbar doesnt support atmos and i am still blown away every time i watch a movie with a good soundmix. Same goes for games. I think Returnal's sound effects are on a completely different level. You are right, also feeling kinda down and want some reaction, just like it was with me yesterday? : D
I don'tMost people use the speakers on their tv. Mucho exclusivito Spencer.
I agree but it was just an example how I just see all this as petty console war. "oh you have an engine? well you can't have this one then"
That is a standard that benefits Video content. HDR10 in games are already dynamically tone mapped.Dolby Vision is a good "get" really as it's true dynamic hdr, rather than pre coded at the start.
But none of that matters for shit when HDR is very hit and miss in gaming anyway.
I'm surprised neither Sony or MS also use HDR10+.
I think I like Dolby Atmos, because for it's headphone edition, it make sound sounds big with headphone, it's big difference, epscially with games like ORI, it makes it sound bassy and "meaty" with great seperation of the sound effects. But I guess for dolby atmos to shine you probably need competent heaphones or some crazy expensive sound system. I think that those soundbars really can't make up for the lack of back speakers.TBH, I really dont see the difference between dolby atmos, dolby vision and all these new features. my tv supports dolby vision but i cant tell the difference. my soundbar doesnt support atmos and i am still blown away every time i watch a movie with a good soundmix. But yeah, I am against moneyhats in general. i was against them when MS was moneyhatting cod dlc. i was against them when Sony moneyhatted MW2 remake. even caught a ban for it on era. And I still against it. this money would be better off spent on getting first party games out faster.

he just looks like he's done and tired of doing this shit over and over again...
My soundbar is 5.1. 3 channels up front in the soundbar, two read speakers. Movies sound fantastic with it. its like being in a movie theater.I think I like Dolby Atmos, because for it's headphone edition, it make sound sounds big with headphone, it's big difference, epscially with games like ORI, it makes it sound bassy and "meaty" with great seperation of the sound effects. Dolby vision, I believe you have to be Xbox Insider to try and to me, it's sadly locked to 60FPS refresh (not 120 like normal) and that adds unnecessary lag from controller. I don't think that picture looks better than HDR10.
And moneyhat is wrong, but my yesterday's post was due to this:
Bioshock 4 Might Be PlayStation Exclusive According to Leak
Microsoft don't develop games nor does Sony they either create, buy,or pay a studio to make video games for their platform Sony’s Worldwide studios and and Microsoft studio do develop games lol?? Or they pay a non 1st party studio to make an IP owned by Sony or Microsoft? What are you on about...www.neogaf.com
Just so we re clear : )
Oh sorry then I thought you have just a soundbar in front : ) Well report back what experience you had : ) I haven't played Returnal. But I have access to PS5 at brothers place. My soundbar is 5.1. 3 channels up front in the soundbar, two read speakers. Movies sound fantastic with it. its like being in a movie theater.
I have some fancy Sony speakers that cost me like $300 i use for noise cancelling. i will try them out on windows gamepass and see if i can notice a difference.
That is a standard that benefits Video content. HDR10 in games are already dynamically tone mapped.
But what is the benefit of dynamic metadatain DV or hdr10+ ?It's still a static tone map for gaming. Just the bog standard HDR 10.
Dynamic HDR tone mapping is only possible on HDR10+/DV.
I believe there are dolby vision games on the xbox one x and series consoles. But they're not that prelevant as of yet.
HDR really needs to be improved regardless. Last I heard was games tend to have a low peak brightness compared to current TV sets you can buy with 2k+ nits.
Works really well for oleds due to them having an low peak brightness by default, but anyone using a FA backlight isn't getting their tv's full potential.
Don't worry. The tv will break shortly after the exclusivity period and samsung will blame it on the user.LOL that is a new low from MS... what's next? making Samsung tv's timed exclusive to xbox ? wait... they actually could do this...
god i hope notMost people use the speakers on their tv. Mucho exclusivito Spencer.
But what is the benefit of dynamic metadatain DV or hdr10+ ?
Isn't it enough for a game/movie to "be aware" what is the maximum white point and minimum black level acheivable by a display? Right now, there is dynamic tone mapping done by the TV which can map game output on the HDR10 range or hgig which Gets metadata from calibration of console/ingame to know what is the min/max.
So is the point for a movie/game to be able to change maximum white point over the time? Why? My TV have set minimum and maximum values.
Even simpliest, no calibration hdr implementations like un Uncharted 4 result in perfect black and brightest whites my tv can produce. so what would DV change if it was supported in such a case?
I think it's overrated just because it is so hard to prove why it is so important. Even the video I posted above with oled and the guy could not see a difference
Actually, Samsung did blame me for having light bleeding on the frame of my tv It was my fault for not keeping an eye while the guys were installing it.Don't worry. The tv will break shortly after the exclusivity period and samsung will blame it on the user.
no it's not right nowTempest Engine is better anyways.
So Sony wasted all that time on special audio to?Most people use the speakers on their tv. Mucho exclusivito Spencer.
So Sony wasted all that time on special audio to?
Do they? How sad if true. Most people use the speakers on their tv. Mucho exclusivito Spencer.
Not true if it were Sony it would be QUALITY and a good business decision that people would justifyIf it's Microsoft it's bad, wrong on every way and anti-consumer
If it would of been Sony it was cool and pro consumer
My friends tried to get me to watch a game on these tiny 5 watt speakers with a low quality 50 inch display. I have a 1000 dollar sound bar and a surround sound system with a 65 inch Panasonic plasma. Don't invite me if your setup is worse then mine.Do they? How sad if true.
It is now.Well isnt this special....
Didnt even realize this was a thing.
Guess what Sonys sound tech is for ... Headphones. As most people use their tv speakers they won't have anything from the tempest engine. Most people use the speakers on their tv. Mucho exclusivito Spencer.
Where else did you expect it to work? Hate to break it to you, 3D audio has only ever worked properly with headphones (Atmos for speaker setups isn't the same thing).no it's not right now
that shit is tied to cans.
i think this is a bs rumor. more like Sony unwilling to pay for the licenses.
