I figure this is a result of Sony creating spatial sound and using / leaning on their own audio tech.

Also I didn't know audio codec could be a timed exclusive...

They have had Dolby Vision and Atmos for more than 2 years already (Though Vision for gaming never got outside of the Insider testing) So why would they make this deal now?

I don't know if I buy into this one.

LOL that is a new low from MS... what's next? making Samsung tv's timed exclusive to xbox ? wait... they actually could do this...

Would be pointless. Samsung don't use DV in their TV's. They're using their own HDR10+. Not sure what other brands use it, but they claim it's just as good and cheaper to licence.

I agree but it was just an example how I just see all this as petty console war. "oh you have an engine? well you can't have this one then"
