1080p does show its age. Plus the textures aren't as sharp as in later PS4 games. But other than that it's still one of the best looking games of the generation, very underrated in this regard I'd say. But if it really comes to PC, all those issues will be solved.
I think it's 1440p on ps4pro/ps5. Does look a bit soft.
But the lighting, textures and generally EVERYTHING look amazing like wtf how

I was expecting the collection rather than straight up UC4.
Uncharted 1 didn’t aged well at all in terms of gameplay.

Also I can already seen the pc master race having meltdowns over the trilogy games with last gen graphics.

uncharted 4 stands quite well to anyone who doesn’t know about the trilogy.

It's going to be interesting to see how well the ports to PC sell. It seems that so far the PC releases have done good numbers, but nothing earth shattering.

Perhaps that's due to gamers having already played the games, though. Sony might just be going for the long tail, which is far enough.

They already played the game half a decade ago.

Based on the comments about wanting the collection, I assume this is the basic drug dealer tactic. You get a taste for free. If you want the rest, you gotta pay. Go buy a PlayStation console, or enjoy the table scraps.
Equating Uncharted games to table scraps? I mean, not that I disagree, but ooof. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Let's be honest, Uncharted is less of a game than it is a passive viewing experience. Call it an interactive movie of sorts. It was never going to age well in terms of anything. If not the for the actual movie getting released too they probably wouldn't have bothered with any of 'em, but this is too good a marketing opportunity to ignore.

Where is that "Are you finished with that, bro?" Playstation games going to PC meme? You know, the one with the fat PCMR guy holding a bunch of PS "exclusives" and then asking for the one clutched by the skinny Sony dude, angry tears streaming down his face? I can't find it anywhere.

So many Sony games coming to PC these days, I don't think that fat guy will be able to hold them all all at once anymore!

I cry about SonyGaf from my chair in Redmond, WA
now the people that was calling it walking simulator are drooling lol
Yeah because pc players are suffering from hive minded people who all has the very same opinion.

I'm very sure those who called it a walking Simulator are exactly the same people who wants to play the game.

Just because you have hive mind syndrome doesn't mean everyone has.

It would be weird to release it without releasing the original trilogy first, especially since only Uncharted 1 has aged poorly in terms of the gameplay. U2 and U3 still hold up very well.

IIRC Horizon sold 700k units in its first month. lets assume lifetime its double that. thats 1.5 million units at $60 or $90 million. 30% valve cut brings it down to $60 million. days gone sold half which is expected since it was never as popular or well received as horizon on ps4. so thats $30 million.

thats it. sony did this for $30 million lol. $15 million first month. I am guessing Jimbo got a nice yacht out of it because i dont see this making a dent in their quarterly earnings.

I see they are looking to go all in on mobile and GaaS games so yeah, they have become like every other publisher chasing money whereever the fad takes them. The funny thing is that they dont realize they are a hardware company and the moment they stop selling hardware is the moment they will stop selling software, services, and whatever the fuck they are trying to do with mobile.

By diluting the value of their hardware.... their main product, they are essentially becoming a third party publisher who like everyone else have to play by a different set of rules. Profits before quality. Games designed in boardrooms by money hungry execs instead of artists. Shoving Microtransactions and services where they dont belong. they will soon turn into ubisoft or worse EA.

Oh well. it was fun while it lasted. expecting a public company to put gamers over shareholders was wishful thinking anyway. its just business. The one good thing is that gamers no longer have to spend $60 a year for PS+ and will likely get 60 fps versions of sony exclusives on PC on day one. instead of buying the ps5 pro or waiting for a PS6 patch. I mostly game on PCs nowadays anyway so this is good news for me.

Your math is wrong.

And net income is net income. 60 to 100M per year (minimum) on old PS games will fund a new game per year. A new IP, or a sequel, that will go on and make 10 to 20M units moved in consoles.

Yes, Sony does all of that for money. On the other news, water is wet.

I have to say, I was always a pc gamer but I found comfort in console exclusives for weirdest reasons:
No amount of money spent is going to change my experience. There is NO option to buy 5k pc and play it there so I never felt like I was missing out on "better" experiene.
If all games start coming out everywhere... it's fine for me since I have 3080 but I will miss that comfort of a game releasing and just putting it in a console for a nice weekend or evening.
Although, that was pretty much my experience with village recently on PC.... which is great but unique. Usually pc ports need at least few days to get straight.

Do people actually play the games before talking about it? I mean if you told me uncharted 1 was boring I would say yes, Uncharted 1 is just climb, shoot, climb, shoot… walk, shoot.
Now saying uncharted 4 didn’t age well because is a movie of sorts… it’s the same as saying any game with a cutscenes are tv shows…

I guess I take a “passive viewing experience” game than another generic multiplayer game. People have different tastes… amazing

Like others have said, makes no sense to release four when PC users won't have played the first three. I'm certainly not buying the fourth installment of something.

The only PS exclusives I'd really like to play are the Spider-man games, but considering Sony happily helped tank the Avengers game by revealing that Spider-man was going to be an exclusive, I'm pretty sure that isn't going to happen. I'm still amazed Sony and Square allowed that to happen. I assume Avengers cost a lot of damn money to make and they just sold the game up the river.

If you have patience and the pockets, PC is pretty much the place to be because it's clear Sony and Microsoft are putting their games on PC... you might have to wait a couple of years for the games to make their way over, but sooner or later, most of the games look like they are coming.

Exactly, they can do what they want after 5 years :D

Nobody cares

I'm sure Sony fans are just burning inside that games are coming to PC 5 years later

There's plenty of people who have been crying on this board alone about how these games being on PC is bad for Playstation and saying silly shit like "whats the point of buying a Playstation".

There's definitely people who care who are having some issues with this. Have we forgotten the meltdowns some people had over Horizon?

If this is confimed it'll be a "tragedy", IMO.
Because of the lost of the exclusivity? No, because it seems to point that Naughty Dog will continue making Uncharted games!
LET THIS SERIES DIE! DO SOMETHING NEW!

Man those screens. Is it just me or is it really starting to show its age compared to TLOU2?, at least the patched PS5 version anyway.

TLOU 2s baked lighting is maybe the best lighting in any game other than Metro or a path traced game. It beats UC4 by a lot. UC4 does have some very pretty locales tho

MS gets slated for having 'no exclusives' because all the games are also on PC. I guess that argument is now down the drain.

Great for PC players. Seems like the place to be this gen. Gets all xbox games and PS games.
I mean… it’s not like their had many exclusives to begin with.

Also not “all” PS games are on pc. But at least it’s better than nothing. If people don’t mind the waiting.

Hopefully on pc we can mod out the brother, the child section and really 3\4 of the boring ass parts.
I love these parts. So much atmosphere, great graphics and just items to watch. There is so much detail packed in these environments.
Really, FOR ME the game is captivating. It's one of those games I like to explore every inch... every time I play it.
If You don't feel it, it's not a game for you. It don't have to be

That is a miserable point of view.... console is 200-500 usd (I paid 200 for ps4 slim back in the day new and 400 for ps5)
Sure, You will get to play a game on PC 5 years after it's release... but by this point, it's not relevant and it might not look like anything special. A big part of playing games is to experience it new. To be hones, relase of something like UC4 on pc, 6 years after it's release on ps4 would be a bigger event for FANS who have finished the game 10 times, rather than exciting opportunity for new players

Like i said, i have zero problem with other ND games or games with even less action...i'm playing biomutant right now and you can run for the map without a single enemy for like 20 min, just exploringand looting stuff.

But u4 bored me to tears, i stopped playong that game multiple times and finally completed after 6 months, sometimes you need something more than just incredible graphics.

UC4 is old enough that it's not moving consoles anymore. Unless they're planning on downsizing their hardware business, it doesn't make a lot of sense releasing hot IPs that can still drive hardware sales. So a 5yo game that no longer counts as a system seller is essentially table scraps, as the feast has already been had on the console side.

It's like getting a Panzer Dragoon Remaster on PS5. Cool for PS owners who never played it, but table scraps as Saturn owners feasted when it was hot years ago.

Here you go! Someone should edit it each time a new game is announced. He'll soon be holding up his own weight, it not more.

Must admit the least favorite of the uncharted series for me, in fact, i put this game in the B for boring category.

Loved the collection though, esp no 2, that game was kinda perfect and just seemed to have it all.

as for exclusives, 4 was very pretty, but when i compare it to God of war, horizon and Bloodborne i really think it sucks.

Or not. I for example, although I never called it walking simulatora, couldn't care less. No interest whatsoever in their games. I recognize the qualify of their productions, but not everyone is falling all over themselves to oplay them.

I really think they should release the Uncharted Collection and UC4 at the same time. It seems like a no-brainer to get those extra sales from people who play and like one or the other on PC.

Are you sure I assumed Ratchet makes use of SSD.
I've always said that R&C would be no problem for PC or XSX to run. It's not a very heavy geometry game where you can't load 2 entire levels in RAM. Most of what we've seen has a foreground and background layer. The background layer is like a prop that you can never actually go to like in an open-world game. I don't think it's maxing anywhere near the PS5s I/O just like I didn't think the UE5 demo was maxing the PS5's I/O. We'll be fine.
