PS5 isn't $200 better than XSX.
Get a XSX.

Neither are work higher than scalper prices unless you really need to play Returnal and Ratchet and such. If anything id hold off on buying either until after all the E3 stuff and possibly wait til this fall closer to when Halo and potentially Starfield are out. For XBOX you are literally buying into playing old games atm lol

Strongly think both are worth more.

OP, based on your post it sounds like you already know which one you really want. You seem fairly focused on the games coming for PS5. I think you know what the answer is. If it helps, consider that PS5 already has a handful of exclusive titles that might hold you over until the ones you really want. Right now, buying a Series X really won't provide you with much you can't already get on PS5 as far as new experiences are concerned. Its near-term list of exclusives, as of right now, is also much shorter. The way things are looking at the moment, it will be a few years before Series X has a substantial assortment of exclusive games. PS5's will already be fairly beefy by this time next year. The DualSense really is an awesome controller, too. PS5 is a safer bet right now, even if the price is higher for you.

Ok you must just be slow

Poster I quoted said GoW comes out this year

I said greatness awaits because it’s a play on the popular PlayStation tag line and in reference to that fact it will not come out in 2021.

Do you under stand now or need it one more time?

I think Power Your Dreams is more memeable because Dreams are about as close to new next gen games as you are going to get for an entire year on the XBOX system lol.. Also who knows when God of War will come out. Could be 2021 still, could be early 2022. Horizon is apparently also around and in that same window. Amazing to me how Microsoft is getting away with only having the Medium for LITERALLY a year.

But seriously for the OP ... why is simply waiting not an option. Is there something you cant wait to play or just HAVE to play you cant play on PS4 or older Xbox

Honestly Switch is a pretty great console! I concur lol. Buy a Switch and then wait til you can get PS5/Series X lol
Honestly in all seriousness had a go on my friends one and everything about the build quality screamed turbo cheap shit and pound shop special build quality wise, but the games were good and bought some nostalgia back.

Both are great machines. If i was you, and considering that at the moment the XSX lacks new exclusives, i would probably buy a PS5 and enjoy.
It make more sense to wait for Microsoft to release the big games to make your money worth.

I have both, the xsex gets more playtime, not just because there's more to play on it but it is just a better experience. Better UI, better network services, nice design, better value, etc. This is how it goes though, they each take turns punching the other in the face every generation. Last generation PS4 rocked it, this time around it looks like MS has the better product.

I would say you would want both. For me it would be PS5 first because it has games I want to play. Xbox will probably have stuff I'll want but in the meantime it (the series x|s) is the backwards compatibility king.

I was xbox last gen and somehow only got a PS5 through the pre-orders. I was a Sony person for the PS3 so..... I say go with what you want. I like the PS5 and will stay with it for this gen. That is just me though.

I also think they ”take turns” but this gen is not as clear cut as last gen. Both have their advantages, whereas last gen Xbox messed up in almost every aspect and became the laughing stock for everyone but the most hardcore fans. Sony isn’t perfect but they haven’t messed up nearly as bad.

So, I might be caving in and paying scalper prices for either an Xbox Series X or a PlayStation 5. I just don’t know which one I should get. The PS5 looks to be about $200 more on average. I do have more of a library on PlayStation, but I like the rewards system and GamePass on Xbox.

Games that are on coming out on both that I am interested in or have already been released (my most prioritized) are: Knockout City, Resident Evil: Village, Judgment (beat it on PS4 already), Yakuza: Like A Dragon, Lost Judgment, Demon Slayer: Hinokami Kepputan, WWE 2K22, F1 2021, Back 4 Blood, Scarlet Nexus, and the AEW console game.

PS5 does have exclusives I want coming out like: Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Guilty Gear: Strive, King of Fighters XV, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Final Fantasy VII: Remake Intergrade, Tales of Arise.

I’m just torn completely. I also prefer the XSX UI to the PS5 UI and I am not against trying to secure a console through regular means, but it’d be a bitch. So, flaming wars and fanboy crap aside, what do you think I should go with for my use case?

For me its exclusives > anything else. GP is fantastic value, but there are more games at the other side.

Are there though? We are already seeing the fruits of Microsoft’s investment.

Release schedule for Microsoft owned studios in the imminent future (no later than q4 2022): Psychonauts 2, Deathloop, Halo Infinite, Age of Empires 4, Forza Horizon 5, Ghostwire Tokyo, Redfall, Starfield.

It’s a pretty good indication of things to come and once they’ve fulfilled their promise to release Psychonauts 2, Ghostwire Tokyo and Deathloop on PlayStation the output will become even more stark in my opinion.

Don’t pay for scalper prices. Series S’s are pretty easy to come by at retail (at least from what I’ve seen), so if you really want a newer system I’d grab that and wait for more PS5’s to be available later. Otherwise I would just wait for both the Series X and PS5 to be available at retail prices.

Seems like you’ll want both at some point.

mod edit: we dont need two threads on the same thing on the front page.
