When I saw another thread I thought maybe they changed it to a full exclusive. Yeah it’s a console exclusive that is also available on pc. May be available on other platforms that allow their service but not on PS or Nintendo. Period.

Meh. If it is exclusive it is exclusive. Game Pass day one no matter what is the only good news I care about at this point. It is an unproven IP (hell, we haven't seen anything substantial yet) and I love Game Pass for the very reason that it gives me the try but not buy option.

my guess is Fallout 76 in space!
no i actually don't know and kind of don't care.. i loved Fallout 3 and NV and i liked Skyrim but 1 game isn't going to make me buy into a platform or ecosystem that just doesn't compliment my tastes
I hope the game turns out good because success breeds healthy competition all around really

Microsoft is finally clarifying the situation regarding future Bethesda games

So for exemple, nothing is ruled out for Indiana Jones coming to PS5 but the next DOOM, Elder Scrolls VI and all IP from Bethesda are gonna be Xbox exclusives. To be more clear: Phill basically said Xbox exclusive will be available on all plateforme were GamePass is available. Elder Scrolls...

Edit: Is this game cross-gen? If this game releases on xbone, it will run on a potato PC.

I'm not sure how anybody could interpret Phil Spencer's statements as vague unless you were desperate for Xbox to not get a "win". Unless a game already exists (or has been announced for the platform) on the platform (legacy), or has contractual obligation (Deathloop, Ghostwire, and maybe Indiana Jones), it will be exclusive to platforms where Game Pass is. The fact Sony didn't even know if Starfield was coming to PS5 should tell you there's no contractual obligation to it. So unless Sony allows Game Pass anytime soon don't expect to play Starfield on Playstation

They never talked about Starfield specifically, they were talking about the Zenimax/Bethesda games.

Yes, Phil said "I can't sit here and say all Bethesda games are exclusive because we know it isn't true". And that will continue releasing stuff on the non-MS platforms specially for existing IPs, and that after the current known games that have to publish on other platforms because they have contractual obligations there more that may have contractual obligations to be published ther. Something that matches with the words of the Xbox CFO, who said some months ago that their focus is 'first or best on xbox' instead of keeping their games outside other platforms.

So it's pretty likely to see Starfield on PS either at launch or after a timed console exclusive.

I'm so confused by this Starfield meltdown. Did people really think it wouldn't be exclusive? Phil already said with a few exceptions (online games) Bethesda titles would be coming to platforms that have Game Pass.

Who makes Starfield? Because I'm fairly certain it's Zenimax/Bethesda (which is now Xbox obviously). Also the reason he said we can't say all of them are exclusive is because WE LITERALLY KNOW OF TWO GAMES COMING TO PS5, plus there could be some unannounced game that ends up on PS5 for contractual reasons, not because most future games are coming there or some other delusion. Also that cherry picked quote of yours was said before the deal was official, before they could announce any of their actual plans, by somebody with less authority over the direction of Xbox than Phil Spencer, but since it's the only quote that supports your hypothesis, it's the only one you'll use

These threads are hyping starfield up so much that anything less than 11/10 will be a failure. If its an 8 or 9/10 PS players are gonna call it a failure.

Has a game ever been talked about so much but actually shown so little? We've not actually see anything on this game.

I don't know, I think the slow realization of people here that in order to play Elder Scrolls 6 or Fallout 5 or the next Doom or Wolfenstein or Prey or Dishonored etc. etc. etc. they have to play on something other than Playstation, all the meltdowns and convincing themselves they never liked those games, I think that would be just about as hilarious

It ain't coming until next year so what if they raise the price of GamePass on the basis of Starfield, Halo and more AAA content to come.

Almost as hilarious as all the Xboys getting excited about exclusivity of a bunch of games they were were going to be able to play anyway.

Smart people will be playing on their 120hz Gsync-compatible ultrawides on PC anyway 😎.

if Xbox fans survived without playing PS exclusives, if PS fans survived without playing Xbox exclusives and if Nintendo fans survived without playing Xbox exclusives and so on… my point is… not all games appeal to everyone.

also celebrating the fact that one game is now exclusive to the platform is …. bad… but people here only care about console wars points.

And, gaming journalism is dead! People should stop feeding the ego of people who on Twitter call themselves “insiders”
