Tbh honest, I think my OLED TV is like, literally the best electronic I have purchased in 10 years. It takes movies, gaming, sports, etc to entirely new levels. WHat a fucking upgrade from my 1080p Samsung lol. Makes good games great, and great games incredible.

I've never been so happy with an electronic purchase before.

Watch this on your OLED and be mesmerized. Foreal, do it. Its probably the best looking thing I've ever seen.

What are some other must watch movies/shows with great HDR on this thing? What games have the best HDR? I have a PS5. Soon to be a Series X probably next year.

It looks fantastic but it's extremely manipulated (fake clouds added, fake waterfalls added, etc) that puts me off. Too much fakery going inside that video.

Would rather see this:

Watching it on my 2016 4K HDR, edge lit, budget Sony X700D TV and still looks fantastic.

This one is amazing! I'd actually say its just as good if not better for LCD than OLED though, because most of the shots look like they have a really high APL, ie really bright all over. There was only a few shots I thought would look much better on OLED. I'm going to have to compare. Looks awesome though!

Justice League in Dolby Vision when played on my LGCX is pretty much the best thing I've seen even if the aspect ratio is a cunt, it looks absolutely gorgeous especially when viewed in a darkened room

Nice, didn't realize LG were putting their demos up.

Wish more manufacturers would do that. Seems hard to find any new ones in the last few years to download.

kyussman kyussman T8SC T8SC is there something special about Panasonic plasmas? I had an ultra high end Samsung plasma before my LG OLED and it was nothing compared to the new tech. The plasma was hotter/used more power, heavier/fatter, prone to burn in, wasn't in 4k. Honestly I don't miss it at all.

You talking about the new cut that just came out?

Thats your problem. You had a Samsung. They were inferior to Panasonic. The motion in plasma is far better than oled. If you watch boxing or games with constant fast movement plasma spanks oled.

I'm not an expert on TV's so I couldn't say if there is anything special about them....but the picture is great, response time is low and black levels are nice....I got mine with an eye for gaming on it back when I got my PS3 and it has been, and continues to be fantastic.Like I said, when it dies then that's that....but I've zero desire to swap out a fully functional TV for a newer one right now, regardless of how good they are.

First thing I did was these types of movies... On my LG CX 65"

I tried this a 55" XF90, but the TV couldn't really give a good black level, it was pretty grey in the hard scenes, bright scenes were still great though considering. It was quite disappointing compared to my ZD9, which it usually is, but much more so than the difference I usually see when comparing these sorts of demo clips.

I'm going to try it again on the XF90 in VLC, with it tonemapping the HDR version to SDR, doing that on mine didn't give nearly as much pop as the proper HDR version of course but blooming was reduced in the hardest shots.

Bo_Hazem Bo_Hazem I'd try downloading the HDR (~600mb .webm copy) version to your desktop and while the desktop is set to SDR (not sure you have the PC connected to the XD70 or not) play it in VLC and it will tonemap it to SDR. I don't know how you'd force it to play in SDR if you are playing it in the internal youtube app though, have to do it through the PC ideally.

I just looked up my old models hz and it was 600 which is similar to what various Panasonic plasmas have. I can totally understand wanting to prioritize the aspect of the video that matters the most to you, so if you say the refresh rate is what is most important even if it is beyond the content being played, I respect that. My current set only refreshes at 120hz, so it's considerably lower than my old plasma but even so, seeing uhd content with that beautiful HDR it's hard to even think of going back. When watching HDR content and the scene or whatever is pitch black, you literally can't tell the tv is on, which is more than I can say for any other set I've ever seen.

Yeah my PC is connected to my XD70, and I turn off HDR because it looks grayish and I'm not an expert calibrator to set it right. So I use my PC in SDR mode and that video still looks excellent!

Night On Earth Sleepless Cities episode is beautiful
There's a YT channel named Jacob + Katie Schwarz which is also phenomenal for 8K HDR videos.

I actually watched it on my OnePlus 9 Pro at 2160/60 on the YouTube app with brightness all the way turned up! That was pretty stunning!

OLED is a big step up over my old tv but the stutter does my head in. you can't even enable trumotion without causing artifacts. also, there is the possibility of burn in.

micro led can't come fast enough. mini led is an improvement but micro led is the real deal and will hopefully kill off OLED.

Watched it on my low end 32" 1080p LCD from 2009. In 480p because my internet sucks and I didn't want to wait for it to buffer. It looked ok.

One of the first things I watched when I got my c9 was Guardians of the Galaxy 2 in Dolby on Disney plus and my mind was fucking blown.

I'm used to it now so the wow factor is gone, until I watch somebody else's TV.

It immediately reminds me how good I have it.

Still not as good as a high-res CRT monitor.
Sorry man. It is better. You put 48" 4k, 120hz, hdr, 12 bit panel on your desk and it's incredible. Very little to 0 ghosting too.
I use a crt still sometimes but this OLED stuff is crazy

Could be. I haven't seen it myself.

But do you ever wonder why all these visual demos for modern panels are usually slow moving? With lots of slow camera panning?

I kinda doubt there is zero ghosting, even at 120 fps. I have a 240hz gaming monitor and scrolling/panning left/right at 240 fps is still not as clean as a 60hz/fps CRT. It's close, but not quite there.

Image quality is not only about ghosting. IT's about color depth, color range, sharpness, hdr is really cool.
OLEDs really do not have a lot of ghosting. Less than any lcd. And they do offer black frame insertion for those who really imagine they see some ghosting.
