Tag, you're it.
Leaks keep raining this week following Epic vs Apple lawsuit

This one is pretty much self explanatory:

As you can see, Epic has offered Sony $200 million for bringing 4 to 6 first-party games to PC (probably as EGS exclusives)
Epic Games is currently awaiting the response from Sony
Finally, Phil meeting with Gabe... that's interesting

this is starting to look like game of thrones 😆 everyone will be fighting each other or changing sides…. In the end… Nintendo wins…

now seriously Nintendo does need to change their corporate system and be more approachable. Their refusal to change and to engage in dialogue might not be a good idea in the long term.

Why would Microsoft agree to this when they are essentially in a bidding war for the same third party content.

If a game is EGS exclusive then it's highly unlikely Microsoft will be able to get it on gamepass PC during that period.

Sony and Nintendo should stay away if they actually want to sell games on PC.

How old is that picture? Because looking at how Death Stranding, Horizon and Days Gone were released on Steam day one as well, it makes me think that either Sony didn't accept Epic's offer or that those 4-6 games talked about in the picture may have been the Quantic Dream and Thatgamecompany's games, plus last year's Predator: Hunting Grounds.

200M seems very enticing considering the games Sony wants to get on PC already peaked and they get 88% on top of that.

Nintendo might ignore it but I can see Sony going for it.

If all they care about is money and not people actually playing their games which would enable them to build out a fanbase for the franchises that make it to PC then yeh, sure.

It's a case of short term thinking vs long term thinking.

I'm wondering if Epic is trying really hard to burn every bridge it has with everyone else.
They keep saying they're going only after Apple, but if they win, Epic doesn't decide what the ramifications of their actions will be.
At some point, every company is gonna start giving Epic the cold shoulder.

This has been Nintendo’s game plan since the 1980s. They’ve had some good times and some rough times, but always find success at some point.

Even after streaming becomes the normal way to play games, I could still see Nintendo using local hardware to play their games. As long as the quality of their games does not drop, people will keep buying since it’s the only place to play their titles.

Epic's hubris is impressive.
I really hate Epic, they are so arrogant and act like clowns with hypocrisy.
I mean much more than others...
I don't get this line of thinking. He wants to break into a hyper competitive field and uses any and every weapon at his disposal to be successful. How is it any different from Sony or Microsoft playing dirty with exclusives and buyouts?
we all know fortnite is going to die someday, unlike Nintendo. It's not worth it.
Which is probably the reason why they want their storefront to be self sustaining at some point

Yep the moment Fortnite stops being as popular as it is today epic will regret blowing as much money as they are at the moment on free games and "exclusive" content.

They will look back and think they would have been better off just spending a fraction of that amount on developing a storefront and launcher that is actually capable of competing with (if not bettering) Steam.

It’s true, they are between the big 3 console makers the ones who least change and seem reliable . But they missed so many opportunities to evolve.

At least they're realistic about Nintendo. But another bad spell similar to the WiiU years for Nintendo and investors will demand PC/other platforms more frequently. Same process that happened until they finally started doing mobile games.

They should get older console games, like what GOG used to be but with console ports of games like Too Human, Resistance, Black etc.

Because Sony and Microsoft does not try to cheat on contract by including a store inside an app then, when they get caught, moans like cry babies and start a #FreeFornite hypocrysis gate for preteenagers ?
I hate this company, plain and simple. Use childrens as a weapon is so pathetic losers strategy.
Others are not angels neither, but Epic is just worst. I want to see them fail and prefer to give my money to GOG.
Sorry, not sorry.

Microsoft should do whatever it takes to get Game Pass on Steam and then shutdown the Windows 10 store because it's shit anyway. Consumers prefer to buy years old Microsoft games on Steam for $60 then pay $15 for a monthly rental via GPU on Windows.
