60 FPS. 4K Resolution. Faster Loading Times. Enhanced Lighting. Improved Visual Effects. 24 Player Multiplayer. Controller Haptic Feedback.

The PlayStation®5 version offers the best Wreckfest experience on consoles ever and takes full advantage of the PlayStation®5's hardware power. Not only does the new version offer enhanced visuals such as dynamic dirt on vehicles, better textures, and improved visual effects. Additionally, it also runs with a wonderful 4K resolution at a smooth 60 frames per second. The multiplayer features 24 players now, for even more intense carnage on the race tracks.

Here is an overview of the added enhancements:

  • Dynamic dirt on vehicles
  • Improved shadows, particles, and environment lighting
  • Higher resolution textures
  • Increased amount of foliage
  • Godrays
  • New visual effects for skidmarks
  • DualSense haptic effects
  • Much faster loading times

Ask me about my Stream Deck
Those loading screens are still a bit brutal, decidedly not current gen anymore, but I'm still excited for this one. Will want to try out the online destruction derby deathmatch first! Is that one of the modes that allows for 24 players?

Hmm, I don't know if my memory is failing me or if it's youtube compression, but this PS5 version looks jaggy and lower res, and less anisotropic filtering and longer loading times than what i played on gamepass on series X. Not starting a console war, just observing my thoughts. Did they announce any new PS5 enhancements? I'm confused.

It’s pretty evident it’s bad compression quality, you can see even the macroblocks in the sky

Must be compression. The Series X version was running in backward compatibility. The one on PS5 is the next-gen version with all these additional features, so the next-gen should look better than the last-gen version.

Reminder that the PS5 version of this game is this month offer for PS+ members.

Was very close to purchase it in the last sales. Gonna fave some fun with this one for sure.

I bought the PS4 ultimate edition in the last sale to wait for the $10 PS5 upgrade. Will just get it on Plus now.

This game drops bellow 50fps at times with a 5ghz i9 9900K and a 6900XT, at 1440P with mid settings.

There is a track in this game that hits 40fps. I doubt PS5 can do it at 60fps. If so, bring those optimizations to PC!

Isnt PS5 update version coming 1st June?
Probably the same thing that happened with Destruction Allstars. It came out on PS+ 2 months before it was available for sale. Guess the PS5 version of Wreckfest will launch 1st on PS+ 1 month before going on sale as well.

This is not the PS5 version as the dynamic dirt is not present.
This is the ps5 version can't you see the PS5 menu. It's free on PSN PLUS and already out in the New Zealand store.

Dammit I’m already jaded on load times to the point where the 10 seconds that this is down to is disappointing. Yes, I know the original has excruciatingly long load times so this is a massive improvement but still. 😆

Bought it physical last month for 15 dollars and was waiting for patch. More than happy to support the developer of such a fun game with that extra money. Wish there were more crazy courses though. Haven’t explored any DLC yet, but think there should be more over the top tracks.

The load times are a little disappointing (judging from OP's video), I got used to stuff loading in a marnner of seconds.

Is there a separate trophy list for the PS5 version?

Is this a joke ? I have played and recorded the gameplay. It has haptic feedback. This is the PS5 Version. I don't know what everyone is excepting from this game lol.

Its clear to me. It loads faster than PS4 and obviously runs at much higher fps than 30. I guess people expected wonders.

It's an amazing game. They did a 60fps patch for the Series X a few months ago and I've had a ton of fun with this game. If you haven't played it you will enjoy immensely. It's "stupid" fun.

Yeah from what I've seen the driving looks pretty solid, I expected a floaty shit and goofy mechanics. Hope it has manual mode because that gameplay I can feel the AT shit in corners as I prefer to downshift and strike those corners!

There is a manual transmission mode and the cars have upgrade paths as well as some basic tuning, its a lot more technical than many would assume it to be.

Wow, I really underestimated the game! Thanks a lot! Seems like this and the 3rd Fenyx DLC will fill the gap after finishing Returnal in less than one day.:lollipop_anguish:
I've had a lot of fun but sadly the Xbox version is just the One X version with the framerate cap removed. The SSD brute forces the terrible loading times and 60 > 30 obviously. The neat thing about this PS5 upgrade is that you can now have 24 players in multiplayer versus the 8 from the base version, which is where Xbox SX is stuck right now. Hopefully both versions release at the same time.

I think they are a small team, expect X upgrade soon.:messenger_ok:

Hmm, they added bloom? Not sure how to feel about that, not really a fan. But it still Wreckfest, which is awesome.

You won't be alone anytime a game takes more than a few seconds to load. I honestly don't know if I could play a last gen console anymore now that I'm used to fast loading.

Wreckfest PS5 Version 4K 60FPS Gameplay

Havent they made a series x version, i mean is it a ps5 timed exclusive or something.

Your confusing specs with optimizations. Console games are well optimised they arent just thrown out and forgoten like pc games.

It's fucking great, i love this game ! I'll pay for that 9.99 patch , i don't usually play online , but for this game i'll get Ps+ and play online

I played this on PC via Xbox Game Pass and it was not fun. While I’m sure a lot of people will look at the sizable list of improvements and think the eye candy will carry the lackluster gameplay, I think you’ll burn out just as fast as I did.

I think the premise of this game — or any wrecking game (RIP Destruction Derby!) — is fun , but .... meh.

I bought on Sale in April waiting for the PS5 Upgrade but never downloaded it.. They announced the PS5 Plus version and I asked Sony for a refund recently, it was out of the 14 days refund period but because I had not downloaded they gave the refund to me.
