You guys can have the extra fraction of a frame per second. I just played on GP the other day with the 3 year $1 upgrade. Who wants to pay $70? lol
Imagine paying for it on XsX and later seeing this video. Gamepass is the right place for it. So it shall be written, so it shall be done.

Do they cover the base consoles? Can’t watch right now.

They cover all the bases.

There are three explanations for the stark disparity in performance.
1) Despite using PC parts, consoles are still not closed box PCs despite some veterans claim. There is clearly some secret sauce or at least some differences here. Otherwise a 12 tflops GPU with a 3.6 ghz cpu with faster ram bandwidth can never beat out a lower speced GPU from the same GPU family.
2) XSX has a bottleneck somewhere because these drops shouldn't happen regardless of how this thing is optimized for PS consoles. It's a straight port of a PS4 game running on a PS5 which might share some APIs but it's running on a completely different hardware architecture than the PS4 Pro.
3) DirectX vs OpenGL APIs?

I really fucking wish they had ported this on PC so we could see how this would run on a 12 tflops RDNA 2.0 gpu because that would also be using DirectX APIs which would confirm that their codebase isnt optimized for DirectX.
OpenGL APIs? Where?

I'll take it for $1.

Imagine pay full price for Sony platforms for years and it's launched on a competing platform for dirt cheap. Thanks for subsidizing.

Runs better on PS5 than XSX = "Sony purposefully made it worse on XSX".

Runs better on Xbox One X than PS4 Pro = "Well, One X is more powerful than PS4 Pro after all"

Basically, lol.

Its a no win situation for this game.

That said...I'm here for the cut scenes frame rate comparisons....oh boy.....

lol this game shouldn't be dropping any frames on any system..
they use hero assets and lighting in cutscenes like pretty much all other sports franchises who typically lock these cutscenes to 30 fps despite running the main game at 60 fps.

I agree that this is an embarrassing next gen effort, but its only dropping frames because the cutscenes push the graphics way harder than they do in gameplay.

Yeah. The other SSDs are probably holding it back.
Or just limited by the code made to old HDDs.
While it is something happening with most 3rd-parties... it is the first time for a 1st-party (but here too enters it is the first PS5 first-party multiplatform).

Well it is about the best value in gaming. Doesn’t say anything about best quality in gaming or anything.
Admittingly, I haven't touch PSN in a while but if it was like my last experience (mid gen of PS4), all games with online multiplayer focus is better on xbox by default. Unless the game is somehow really unplayable on xbox.

Well like Rich said, it could be growing pains of studio used to doing exclusive games on a console who now has to develop it on multiplatform not even a year into next gen.
While true, like its been pointed out it runs better on the One X vs the Pro...so.....

🤷‍♂️

Their first shot at multi platform they nail it with last gen consoles but are struggling with the next gen ones?

One X shows its true strengths but for next gen they drop the ball?

Maybe, just maybe....like its been stated for months, probably the last 2 years....

"these next gen consoles are closer than any consoles have ever been"

Fuck me, sony cant even make a locked 60 FPS title on these consoles with these last gen looking graphics? awful.

Another one!

Good move from Sony, but overall a great play by MLB in signing the gamepass deal. Both companies got fucked in some way.
Native 4K while targeting 60fps is still a bit much for the new consoles. Their GPUs are better suited for resolutions between 1440p and 2160p if the target is 60fps.

Yes and MS purposefully made the series S underpowered!

Yeah I don't think Microsoft accidently made a less technically impressive version of the XSX.

Hopefully this statement is okay, considering the XSX is technically superior to the XSS and Microsoft purposefully put out two versions of the console, one at a higher price with better specs and a lower-priced version for people who aren't interested in the extra power of the XSX.

Microsoft should've added Inside Pitch 2003 to the backwards compatibility program and paid MLB to allow them to update the rosters.
The game already ran at 60fps on Original Xbox. Could probably run 240fps on Series X. Or do like the game The Touryst. Render at 6K and then downsample to 4K at 120fps.

Framerate has been poor in The Show in all the versions I've played even when they were PS exclusive but they have still been fun games.

Just search the sports gamer forums and you'll see tons of people complaining about poor PS4 and Pro framerate. I guess framerate is not a huge priority for this studio but this doesn't look anywhere near as bad as last gen at least.

Well for one, the difference between the capabilities of the Pro and One X are a lot larger than PS5 and XSX yet the performance difference is reversed or at most the same.

This is a last gen game first and foremost. I think they do pretty well on the PS4 and XBO since they‘ve done so much stuff and experienced enough on last gen to get grips on how to make them perform at their best. On PS5 and XSX, I expected almost identical performance and not the same gap with Pro and One X.

They drop the ball on PS5 even. Their own console. Loading times difference is vastly inferior compared to Spiderman PS4 to Spiderman PS5. It’s not hard to think that it’s not fully optimized to PS5 not to mention the XSX.
