METAL GEAR SOLID VOICE ACTOR DAVID HAYTER SAYS REMAKE IS HAPPENING ACCORDING TO HIS INSIDER

yea I think that rumor about Bluepoint doing a remake has a lot of truth to it. They worked with Konami before, Konami might be more willing to just do remakes then a new title and have it out sourced, those tweets by one of the developers.

M matty3092 because they are doing a remake, they might be using the same voices as MGS for its time had masterful voice overs or they are not ready for him to do the voice overs yet or something.

I'm not sure if I want any game of the series remade without Kojima but, if they pick one, it should be the original Metal Gear and then Metal Gear 2.

I'm always mind-boggled people wants MGS remade again instead of seeing Solid first mission, human Gray Fox and battles like Solid Snake vs Big Boss in current gen graphics. Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake particularly is outstanding and perhaps Solid Snake most epic mission.

Very true. Snake's first infiltration & confrontation with Big Boss in Outer Heaven is literally one of the most important story moments, and its stuck in a 1987 game. (And yes i know its Venom Snake, point stands)

Nobody better qualified than Bluepoint. Bluepoint and Nixxes are the two best port houses around and Bluepoint's masterful remake of Shadow of the Colossus is exactly what I think of when I say I want a "remake."

They better not use the shit TTS voice files. Not sure how true but apparently the OG PS1 version wasn't even recorded in a professional sound studio it was just a house they made into one.

Yes, thank you. I like Metal Gear Solid too, which was my introduction to the series, but I've always thought Metal Gear and Solid Snake would be better candidates for remakes. I would love to see what the games would look like remade for modern platforms.

You know what? This would be dope.

The dogs, the trucks.....damn it brings back so many memories.

"I feel asleep"

Add this in to one of them as an easter egg and I would laugh so fucking hard.

Yeah, and it is even more dramatic in MG2:

Solid Snake after destroying a Metal Gear, have all his equipment burned because of the explosion, "kill" the greatest Fox Hound member and best friend, Gray Fox, with his own fists and now he needs to face the legendary soldier, Big Boss.

He is unarmed and BB has a machine gun and with cybernetic implants made by Doctor Madnar (the same which made Raiden's body in MGS4).Colonel Campbell and Master Miller in the radio.

It was probably Solid Snake greatest achievement. I remember calling many members of the staff in the radio and most of them saying Solid already lost, he could not win against Big Boss and no one could. When I called Miller he said Big Boss was a evil piece of shit or something like that.

It was dramatic even before playing MGS3, Peacewalker and MGSV. Now that we know better Big Boss and Miller story, it would be even more.

Who cares about fighting Liquid again when we can get Solid Snake vs Big Boss!

Its a remake.

It was a glorified Remaster with better graphics, new cutscenes and the added 1st person view shooting. To me a proper remake comes with extensive changes or additions to the level design and SK didn't do jack shit in this regard. The levels and boss fights were 1:1 the same and a lot of it was actually ruined with the added 1st person shooting because none of this was made with it in mind.

I Will throw a fucking tantrum if hayter doesn't play snake or they use the TTS voice overs also the OST for MGS1 is the best in the series I want all of it intact unlike TTS

I'm fine without Hayter voicing him. The last game he did his performance was already questionable but the cameo videos he made and that stupid metal gear video he made about social distancing afterward were abyssmal.

Hmm, I'm not sure what I'd want out of MGS remakes other than a HD touch up and releasing on modern consoles and PC (the original 2 on PC are awful ports, I bought them on GoG and they take a lot of modding to feel right). Maybe porting them to the Fox Engine perhaps and rebuild them? I dunno, MGS2 - 4 still hold up and in fact, I'd rather see remakes of Metal Gear 1 and 2 at this point.

This would be a smart project for Konami and whoever they employ to do the heavy lifting. Better to dip their toes in a Kojima-less future for MGS by starting with a modern remake of an established classic. If they just came out the gate with something totally new and original for the series, that's probably too much of a headache and risky at best.

I hope this is true but shouldn't Snake's voice actor already know about it? You would think that Konami had contacted Hayter about it long time ago.

I feel like people seriously underestimate the work required for a proper mgs1 remake.

If your going to third person, you need completely different level design. Which is going to require really clever new game design. I feel like it won't work well without top talent doing it. And Bluepoint are great from a tech perspective. But have they ever actually created new game design/mechanics?

Yeah because a 17 year old GC game that divided fans is really shooting up the charts, lol. No reason to remake the first game at all.
No, there’s not

Remaking a game two times is just beyond stupid, it's only done because is so easy to sell thanks to its name

We have lots of gaming cancers yet, re-remakes is definitely something I don't want to start too
And the reasoning behing fan division about it is only about fmv reimaginings, way too matrix-y, but the gameplay is awesome

If they make a great version of the first MGS, then it's not a sin to do so. I think we all prefer original IP to come out and be amazing, so I do generally agree with you about it not being necessary. But that doesn't mean they can't potentially do something cool with it and make it distinct from the original and TSS. And like I said in another post, it might be a good excuse for Konami + whoever else they work with to get their feet wet with MGS again without shitting out some new story / mechanics / gimmicks that damage the series name. If they play it safe and make a great remake before making something wholly new, that could be a smart move. That's more or less what happened with RE2 recently. (and FF7 too)
