This is you looking for an exit, I added 2 instead of 3 on purpose to see if you would still address your made up number of 3.5 million for Spider-man the movie, i
The number of 3.5 million was in reference to GT4.

you only have posted VGchartz sales.
I didn't.

So right now you're panicking and devolving the discussion
I am not panicking in the slightest, but you are off and deliberately try to not prove your claims.

So I'll make a cut here. Proof your claims by referencing your sources. Otherwise, we are done here.

I've got to go with Xbox. I am surprised San Andreas wasn't a top 10, as that was the best version of the game.

Halo 1 and 2 were amazing fps, GTA 3 and vice city were amazing and revolutionary, Ghost Recon is still one of my favorites and my forum name comes from that game. Splinter Cell is what MGS was supposed to be(although I bought that game on GC).

Gamecube also has some great titles in there, but back then I don't know anyone who wanted to play those. Metroid Prime was super boring as a teenager, but I appreciate it more playing as an adult. Melee was great. MKDD is the best Mario Kart. Surprised to see Animal Crossing. Wind Waker was super boring (recently played through the GC version).

PS2 list doesn't even have its strength as a console: RPGs. FFX wasn't very good imo. SMT 3, Persona 3, and 4, and the Xenosaga trilogy were all vastly superior.

BTW GT4 didn't sell 3.5 million in the NPD, that's within spitting distance of GT3 which was on the market for 3.5 years by the time GT4 released.

GT4 Also sold less worldwide than GT3, and the hype of the realistic graphics of a racing sim dropped by then in the US while Europe picked up the slack.

Only place that has Gt4 at 3.5 million for NPD is.... old updated from Vgchartz. Of course.

You see how you keep getting lost?
When I am lost, you are in an endless narcissistic hole. You are dishonest and completely off the ramp.

It was very clear what I meant and it was definitely clear that it wasn't in reference to Spider-Man: The Movie as I even pointed out the sales for that game. So when Spider-Man sold less than GT4 in the US, there is absolutely no reason to put it on your list about bestsellers and leave out GT4. This is basic logic and you still fail.

This is what I wrote...
The thread title and your previous post clearly suggest bestselling titles, not NPD only, and even if, where is the data that suggests that Spider-Man: The Movie sold more than 3.5 million in the US?
According to what Wikipedia says, it did sell less:
"By July 2006, the PlayStation 2 version of Spider-Man had sold 2.1 million copies and earned $74 million in the United States."
Sadly they don't reference a source either, but they reference this as a source that Spider-Man: The Movie sold 6 million copies in the US, but that includes all consoles. This site suggests that it sold 2.5 million.
...after you quoted this post
while GT4 is missing (which sold over 10 million units) either.
which was an answer to this post
I mean if he is using NPD then its not worldwide sales. GT4 only sold 3.5 million in North America out of a worldwide sales of 11.7 million.
It is not my fault that you have the reading comprehension skills of a toddler.

Stop projecting and start posting your sources.

BTW GT4 didn't sell 3.5 million in the NPD

Xbox got both, though only 1 MGS title. I guess for MGS fans xbox vs. gamecube it depends if you wanted a remake of the first game or a better version enhanced with more content of the 2nd game.

I've got to go with Xbox. I am surprised San Andreas wasn't a top 10, as that was the best version of the game.

Well the Xbox version of San Andreas (which is better but not as much as it should be they were a bit lazy with that port) came out in 2005 toward a year after the PS2 version.

The big thing is that the Ps2 was rising at the time, and Xbox was getting ripped off by Nvidia losing money on consoles, so before GTA San Andreas even came out on the Xbox, the Xbox 360 was announced to replace the Xbox guttering hardware and software sales, this being triple as much once the system came out late 2005.

It's likely San Andreas would have sold more if Xbox didn't cut it off from success, it still sold well and it's not rare or anything but it's clear it could have sold more.

Of course, MS didn't really have a choice, the more consoles they sold the more money they were losing.

Xbox

Halo, Spinter Cell, Fable, KOTOR and Project Gotham alone pretty much call this a win, 80% of which were exclusives (and Splinter Cell was notably superior on Xbox too.)

GameCube is in with a shout too to be fair, but I’m not interested in a good chunk of that line-up, Mario, Zelda and Metroid aside.

PS2 had a fantastic library, but that’s not a great showing for the big hitters.

It's hard to call me dishonest when you start nearly every post with a dodge or a lie.

"North America"

This is a US thread not North America. I don't know why you would expect GT4 and GT3 to near tie in the US with the Graphical simulator novelty with GT3 plus 3.5 years on the market and the down shift in US sales going to Europe. The math doesn't add up brah.

Again, dishonest, lost, strawmans, and now can't tell difference between US and NA. Granted, sometimes those two are used interchangably, even though they shouldn't so I won't hit you too hard on that.

For me, it would have to be PS2. I got it with GTA3. I had a Dreamcast before it and later I got the GameCube. Xbox I didn't need to get but my brother had that. But GTA3 wasn't my reason to buy a PS2 (it was Resident Evil). Later on, and I am surprised these games weren't in the top 10, the games that pretty much make PS2 the top console for me were Prince of Persia Sands of Time (I know multi-platform) and through it I discovered God of War series. Love God of War.

I can't vote based on the top 10 selling games because nothing on the Xbox interested me at the time. And on the PS2 list, GTA is the only series that interested me. Same for GameCube lol. I did get GameCube for Mario Kart Double Dash once my friend introduced me to it. So I guess I'll vote PS2 due to GTA.

Xbox all the way for me. Halo and Halo 2 are a couple of my all-time favorite games alone. Interesting to see what games didn't make the top 10. Crimson Skies and Mech Assault were both really good.

A lot of crossover between the Xbox and PS2 for me at that time. Surprised to not see at least 1 MGS game on that PS2 list or even more of the amazing first-party Sony games on their. At the time, having both PS2 and Xbox, I'd say the Xbox, especially with how much of a game changer XBL was for console multiplayer gaming. It felt like Xbox live just opened a whole new world of console possibility that none of it's competition could really even compete with on any meaningful level.

But based on me, today, looking at that list, honestly....Probably the Gamecube. I didn't get a Gamecube till WAY after it was released and by then everyone had moved on to the Wii. But very recently I started revisiting the GC library and realizing how many GREAT games it had.

What a good time for gaming in general though, competition was fierce and the amount of crazy, varied titles across all 3 platforms was amazing.

Your whole thread is a lie and every single post of you is a dodge. You even failed to reference your damn sources. That's the basics if you are doing a thread about bestsellers. Your list is wrong, deal with it and fix it!

Not to mention you haven't provided any counterargument at all, not even once.
All you are doing projecting and spreading misinformation.

All I need to do is quoting my old post because you didn't even bother to construct a decent argument, it was your usual meaningless jabba jabba.
Aight let's recapitulate:

1) You make a thread about the bestselling Xbox, PS2, and Gamecube titles. Nothing suggested you meant NPD only.
2) You edit the thread to be NPD only.
3) Even with only NPD data in mind your list is off.
4) Research suggests that there is no sale data between 2001-2005 on this site (like you claimed).
5) You deny posting your sources.

All in all, wack ass troll and wack ass thread. Skip!

...but this isn't my problem anymore, because I'll use my right and ignore your dumbass.

Plus your OP is really made up because you never mentioned US or NPD and the ranking is off but big margins.

I don't know how anybody posting is really taking this thread serious.

The list is not accurate.
He listed what he thought it is the TOP10 on each platform and removed what he think are not good lol (eg. sports games).

You must have been pretty turned off to avoid buying a Gamecube with that PS2 when it was $30 with 3 games.

I was turned off by the Gamecube? No, I played it anytime I went home. I already had the PS2 as it came out before the Gamecube even released and already had a library of games for it. At the time I was more interested in working on my car than playing video games so I didn't own multiple systems. I liked the Gamecube more despite not having one.

i came here to immediately shout PS2. But if i count all the good games on that list.
it breaks down 5 for GC/4 for PS2/3 for XB for me.

i refuse to count GTA trilogy as some kinda xbox game. Those are PS2 exclusives that got ports like 5 years later

This doesn't work, and dumbass liking your post shows he's an idiot.

NA isn't the US, every sales of any game mentioned in this thread is the US, and old NPD didn't even include Mexico and Canada across the board. It's funny how we are dealing with a few loose mental eggs while everyone else understands the thread just fine and actually decided to contribute.

You guys are just too dumb and are only here to troll, that's fine but the thread will move on without you so have fun I guess.

Your whole thread is a lie

Nice dodge, you won't address your mistakes so you automatically lost credibility, but then you tried to put your insecurities on me? You were wrong from the start, and many people got it, notice how things flowed until you're dumbass came in being lost and mentally incompetent? What's funny is considering your nonsense in the Saturn thread this is highly Ironic that you're here disturbing a thread with no evidence other than Vgchartz. You're only ally is also a troll that's only here because he though that the thread was designed to attack Sony, Good job.

Scram kid, if not doesn't matter, thread will continue without you, go get your last word in.

That's why I thought that

You said "I only owned a PS2 during that gen, my time with the Gamecube was when I'd go home to visit my family and play my brother's Gamecube"

So I assumed you had moved out since you only played the Gamecube from your brother who still lived in your families house, And considering you liked it I'd figured if you still didn't but it maybe you were turned off from it. But maybe I misinterpreted your statement.

But hey you have one now right? There you go.

Perhaps he will do that in order to twist it into a positive. "bruh, this was a joke all along, I swear"
