Xcloud PC iOS beta Limited Beta for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Members

It is rumored to be coming with the Nintendo partnership.
Heh, I'll believe it when I see it. Nintendo has zero incentive to put xcloud on their machine. They are already the best selling console worldwide and why would they want to potentially disrupt their digital services by putting that on the system?

Because the system has only 1 weakness and that is 3rd party games. With X Cloud you will be able to play the games that the system is not capable of playing and does not offer. All the work will be done by Microsoft. It does not matter how well the system is selling because no company will stop making improvements to a product just because its selling well. We already have 1 Nintendo Switch in our house that belong to my daughter and as it is right now its a system that I have no interest in. I have played it only a couple of times but if its gets X Cloud and it actually works I can see my self buying 1 for my self. X Cloud on Nintendo Switch would be huge and increase the sales even more.

Urgh I’ve been waiting patiently. So excited for this. Also looking forward to streaming to PC. Fuck having to use the MS Store which messes up your SSD.

need to get myself one of those little controller grips for my phone.

I've literally just bought one today (as well as a double battery pack as taking that thing on and off is going to annoy me)

How did they invite you? Email? Xbox message?

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
I got my email, I'll have to test this out later. I've been really impressed with the native android app so I'm expecting good things for this as well.

I can sure tell they let a lot of testers in as for me anyhow the servers were not great to begin with and on my 1 gig fiber they are even worse right now.

Hope they upgrade those servers they are internally testing soon

Ah this. When an ethernet cable and my high speed internet this should be just as good as playing it from the hardrive.

Well close enough anyway

(Playing on PC) Having a much better experience than the app, feels similar to stadia, latency is still there but connection seems much stronger than the experience I have had on the app where it constantly complained there was a connection issue.

I wonder when this is gonna cause people to freak out with privacy concerns.

(and I am curious how in the world it's doing this, probably just some sort of Edge integration, but still lol)

Edge just tracking url and user input which i don't think it is that bad as long as it stays locally but i expect an weird freak-out.

Sadly I didn't get invited. have to keep using the android app.

As for the Rainway stuff. This doesn't make sense but I guess they didn't want to develop it any further so just buddy up with the people who already got it set up.

Tried it a bit this afternoon, a bit laggy, will try it again soon. I'm wondering how far off this is for chrome on something like andriod TV, that would be more handy than a pc browser.

Maybe the Bluetooth in my PC sucks, so ymmv, but just tried it again wired and it was much better than before. Maybe the latency of the net combined with Bluetooth just made it seem that much worse. Still something to try if you are finding it too unresponsive

It's a little rough right now on a iPhone 8+ with Xbox controller. Streets of Rage was passable, but Forza and Halo were bad. They have some work to do, but it's cool that it works at all through the browser.

Whenever I click play it starts the streaming placeholder but then refreshes the page and goes back to the game page.

guess it doesn’t work on Ipad pro 1st gen. I’m using an Xbox one controller. Strange that the Xbox series x controller isn’t supported yet.

Some MCC Halo Reach on xCloud via Edge Browser on PC.

I used a wired connection with wired controller. Much better experience than the iPhone 8+ on Wi-Fi with bluetooth Xbox controller(obviously). Still have a lot travel with the analog sticks. The input latency tends to make you over correct with aiming. Not as good as other streaming solutions, but they're making progress.

anyone from the uk had an invite yet? and do they email or will i get a notification on the game pass app?
I received an email from 'Xbox' with subject heading "Test Xbox Cloud Gaming on iOS and PC". I have a gmail account as my primary Microsoft account, so in my case it ended up under the 'Promotions' tab. Once you receive the email, you just log into Xbox.com/Play on a compatible browser.

Anyone tried this on an older Fire TV 1/2 or Fire TV Stick?
Afaik the older devices use Fire OS 5 (Android 5) and the native Android App requieres Android 6...

Got my invite. Tested some 60 FPS Rainbow Six Siege on PC trough xCloud and it ran great, even on my wireless network. I play on the newest WIFI 6 network, and there was no stutter at all.

Trough the browser? I know the app isn't supported on Android TV yet, so it runs like crap. Haven't tested it trough the browser on my Fire TV Stick yet, but will soon.

Have you tried connecting your controller to the PC with a cable instead of Bluetooth. I'll be interested to know whether you see in difference.

Edit: my bad. I completely miss read your message.

I don't know how people can play on small screens. The smallest I can manage on is a normal iPad. An iPad mini is too small so an iPhone is a total bust.

I got in and tried it on an iPhone. It is functional, but right now controls are the main hurdle. Couldn’t get a controller to be detected by the phone (probably because they’re older Xbox models), and touch controls aren’t really effective (you can walk around in Sea of Thieves and raise anchor, but anything accurate is hard to achieve, and even menu browsing isn’t intuitive when you want to tap on tiles instead of moving a focus)
I may be tempted in the Razer thingy that turns the phone into a console, but I don’t think I’ll use it enough to justify a purchase

please keep us updated.
Currently my Fire TV 2 is not with me so I cannot test it.

If this should work, then it will give new live and purpose to my Fire TV 😅

BTW: IMO next step for xCloud should be to allow us to play all of our digital purchased games, not just Gamepass games

The older controllers dont have bluetooth connectivity.

Played on PC with a wireless Xbox controller, forget anything that needs reaction speed, Gears 5 multiplayer was totally unplayable. Dirt 5 was barely playable.

Works best for slower paced single player stuff like Fallout 4, we're a long way from replacing dedicated hardware.

I'm pretty sure my andriod experience was better than my browser one (was similar to yours), maybe they are still working on things.

True, I was getting close to my usual lap times on Dirt 5 when playing on my Android phone, I struggled to even get in the top ten whilst playing on the PC browser.
