So various rumblings that Sony has reached a deal with Konami to bring the MGS collection to the PS5...

The collection would consist of Twin Snakes (yeah I know not universally acclaimed) MGS-2/3 and what remains a Playstation exclusive to this day: Metal Gear 4!

Notable absentees: Metal Gear 5, and Metal Gear Rising Revengeance

Don't get me wrong, I do like Twin Snakes, it was my first proper brush with the series and I was happy it came to the cube, (I even brought it especially on import at the time..) but I think in the past I have read here quite a few people not liking it compared to the PS1 version..

I am absolutely alone in thinking twin snakes was awesome? Have such good memories of that GameCube version. Looked great and had all the MGS2 gameplay improvements. If this is true, it makes me much happier than having the PSX version.

It has a fantastic metacritic score and 8.9 user score. Did the haters really play it? Game was supervised by Kojima itself and Myamoto.

I don’t really care what version of MGS1 we get. Just get this series onto a modern system with all the resolution and FPS boosts. Also, how about a Steam release while we are at it? With cheevos, badges and steam cards.

No, you're not alone. It's a great game and it felt great to play when it came out. The original is better but that doesn't make TTS trash

Since I am highly emotional about Metal Gear Solid and I basically played and studied those games over and over I will not believe anything regarding MGS before I actually hold it in my hands.

Would be awesome since I don't have a PS3 even though I have the MGS Legacy Collection.

I'll wait until we get a more substantial confirmation before I get my hopes up.

Also I kind of hope this isn't true because it would go against what we've been hearing about a full-blown MGS1 remake.

Twin Snakes might actually be bearable once unhooked from the constraints of the shitty GameCube pad.

I thought Twin Snakes was in legal issue hell since it was partially published by Nintendo or something. That being said I still like it and would be down to play it again, but a collection should include both it and the original.

I have a batter idea. Make Metal Gear Rising 2 and 3, then package all three as a trilogy on PS5.

Metal Gear 4 got me on the Playstation band-wagon, had it not been for that game, I would probably have got on board much later...

I don't like Revengeance but MGSV? Imagine preferring the cheesy MGS4 single player over MGSV. Four does nothing better than five, except for having real guns. It took me about 5 tries to get through the ending cutscenes because I fell asleep each time. So even if you hate MGSV story, MGS4 is even worse.

MGS and TTS was so long ago. How does anyone remember which is better. TTS brought in fps view didn't it? They should have them both in the collection

Nah, MGS4 had better stealth. MGSV was dumbed down and made a bit more casual. It also had proper boss fights and stat management (that unique psyche meter for example). The story was Kojima falling to excess, but it was still MILES beyond what we got in MGSV.

I would fkn LOVE MGS4 in PS5. That said, MGSV and Revengence are both fantastic and should both be in the collection. Revengence is IMO the best game platinum has ever made. Even if it played nothing like Metal Gear should. Also, Peace Walker should be in the collection too.

That said, this is BS. Lol @ some anon on 4chan getting press and threads on Gaf

Capcom could re-release their Resident Evil remake that was only on Gamecube so this could be like that.

I was debating getting The Twin Snakes until I saw the prices average around $129-$200 on eBay. Settled for getting MGS1 on a PS1 emulator for my tablet. Seems like I made the right choice based on some of the comments in this thread, had no idea so many people disliked the remake.

The crazy cutscenes are the main reason why its so disliked. They might not feel as crazy after MGS4 but they are too over the top. The Ninja cutscenes are awesome though.

Id rather classic MGS not twin snakes. I do like twin snakes but the cutscenes and alot of of it loses the feels of the classic.

Plus give us peace walker
Im down for this, but give us those rumoured remakes

I mean ya, I second that. How would he call MGS Twin Snakes not universally acclaimed?

MGS Twin Snakes was overall good. It features some over-the-top cut-scenes and action, thanks to film director Ryuhei Kitamura. But all in all, it is/was a good/upstanding/respectable remake.

Watch, timed.

Twin Snakes is joke. Silicon Knights didn't understand a basic element element of gameplay.
