I feel like streaming will have more reach when it gets going on PC and smart devices on TV. And no, I'm not talking PC players with a killer rig, I'm talking players that go the LowSpecGamer route. They might get a better experience via streaming than they do locally. I've always thought Sony didn't do nearly enough to promote their PC app to this group.
I agree with this. Being able to turn your potato clock computer into an alien ware super rig is a big benefit to most and probably where Microsoft hopes to end up.

Call me old fashioned but I prefer looking at the real world vs a phone screen. But I do know im the exception because my phone spends 90% of its life at home. The only time I take it with me is if I drive, just so I can phone breakdown services if worst comes to worst.

Plus, gaming addiction is a legitimately recognised condition and is it healthy to be gaming when away from console?
Trolling or just really not smart?

The touch controls are just a normal advertisement and are already available.

I will try MLB :D Just to see what the fuzz is all about it.
Are they available now? I don’t see how to enable them on my phone? Anyway, I guess I’m in the minority that thinks it’s cool to play games remotely while traveling or if my significant other wants to use the tv.

Who the fuck doesn't have a console or pc but owns a smartphone which is more expensive?

Then, who has a phone, wants to play console or pc games and says to themselves "I would buy a console but it's too much money, I'll stick paying over the odds on data and play these amazing games that I really want to play on console, on my phone instead"

Do me a favour, go back to whoever gives you talking points and slap the taste out of their mouth.
Have had PS app (for couple years) and Xbox app (for a few weeks) and both support remote play.

Have not touched either feature to play my console games on my phone. I've maybe used PS remote play to manage my Division 2 inventory character remotely maybe a few times but never did run through a mission sitting in the office.

I honestly don't see who would want to play consoles/PC games on a mobile. Unless you carry an OTG cable and extra console controller around with you in your pocket then yeah.

How weak are you that putting a controller in your bag is lugging?
In all my years of gaming on my phone in public or at the office, I've never come across a single person who whips out a PS or Xbox controller to hook up to their phone to play games. NEVER.
I've used public transport for many years now before buying a car and never come across this scenario. People taking out a Switch or Vita? Yes, that happens quite a few times on the train in to work or back home in the afternoon.

Not saying people don't take their console controllers along with them to play remotely but I've personally never seen anyone in public doing that and hooking it up to their phones.

Stop being a dickhead.

I know a lot of people in their 30s and 40s who stopped gaming 10-20 years ago, don't own a console or PC, and own multiple smart phones. The only contact they have with gaming these days is smart phone casual shit, and if you were to tell them they could play a library of console/PC games on their phone or smart TV by throwing a monthly rental sub at it, they probably would check it out.

Well, if theyre going to probably check out that service, then that's me proved wrong eh?

Yes, they also have their own category in the Game Pass App for Android. For me, I'm not a huge fan of touch controls and I like to connect my X1X controller via BT, but I've also played Minecraft Dungeons while travelling with touch control.

Still waiting on the xcloud streaming killer app.......literally, an app for tv's, roku, android TV, etc. Once this is out it provides a super convenient way to game on any TV, complete with controller support.

A question about GP service. Do you keep the games you download (as long as you are a memeber) or does the game dissapear when they pull it of GP?

Maybe it's finally time to try GTA V then.

I've played it alot over the years and had a lot of fun with it. Funny enough I never finished the story campaign.

I went back to the PS4 version last year but then heard about the next-gen version. So I'm deciding to wait for that upgrade.

Or better yet - all the laptops out there with nothing but integrated GPUs. This is where I personally see xCloud being the most beneficial, because I also think it won't storm the smartphone market, the controls will be a barier for the vast majority of titles to actually enjoy playing them on a smartphone, but a laptop seems like a perfect fit.

The game will be still on your drive but you'll have to buy it in order to launch it.

Glad that GTAV is back on gamepass as there must be at least 17 people in the world who have never played it..........
It's in the sales charts every single week. It's a pull to these services whether it makes sense or not.

I'd guess it might even be better for the service than MLB, although the optics are obviously very different.
Playing console games on your phone confuses me just as much as people giving money to only fans trollops.
There are countries that have great Internet but low income. Those countries have already embraced mobile gaming and some of them - parts of Asia - are starting to embrace streaming.

There's no mystery here. This is the start of something that'll be very big, just not necessarily in the US until it gets far enough along that it rivals the console experience or ups the convenience.

It's a great game. It legitimately deserves the praise it gets, the open world is gorgeous (even at 1080p) and, frankly, the fact it stands up so well is a testament to Rockstar and a black mark against rival publishers who still can't match it eight years later.
Microsoft's move to mobile explains a lot about the games it develops.
Stupidest comment of the day.

That's a good answer. Cheap laptops becoming super computers is perfect, and like you say, come with better default control options than a smart phone

What's the best cloud game in terms of fun/workable touch controls? Slay the Spire?

Is Rockstar doing the free $1 million a month thing on Xbox like it’s doing on PlayStation? That would be enough for me to hop back in, but I’m not subscribing to Plus when I have GamePass.

It is blatantly obvious that people grow up and stop gaming, a lot of them not buying new consoles since they were teenagers in the 90s. Maybe even PS2 for the GTA3 hype. Those people have jobs, disposable income, and already have access to smart devices like phones and TVs. Their children are also now likely acclimated to use tablets and phones for gaming.

Now is a time when buying cheap subscriptions for all kinds of TV and movie services is considered normal, and all those people who don't care about dedicated gaming appliances would easily spend 20 bucks to get a AAA gaming library to fuck around with for a few weeks entertainment and resubscribe to it if the experience is a good one.

Your hostile bullshit about everything in this and other threads makes me not even consider the need to prove you right or wrong. It only makes me curious as to what medical diagnosis you're juggling and constantly dropping in front of us.

So your mates who haven't gamed since the PS2(!!) who have kids who are likely to use the service, both of these groups don't care about dedicated gaming appliances and would only use GP for a few weeks IF it's a good service, are the type of people Xbox should be targeting? Gee, where have i heard that strategy before? It sounds something like Binect, i can't quite remember.

But hey! You sure schooled me again. My point of this service is useless to 99% sure is wrong. I sure do hope Microsoft keep using our GP subs to pump money in to this. I sure as shoot am lucky to support an industry that blatantly doesn't give a gosh darn tooting about the old core audience. On the bright side, the big companies throw us a poorly optimised, broken-on-release game every now and then to keep us happy. Boy-howdy, i wouldn't change a thing! And it's not like we've been here before, time and time again with Microsoft.

Hostile? Opinions are hostile now? Don't go out in the rain Mister, i don't think your thin skin would be able to protect your organs from getting wet! I'll just brush over that you quoted me with the opening line of "Stop being a dickhead". Totally not hostile.

Though i should confess, i do have a medical problem:

I'm not really a man, I'm a woman.
Actually, I'm not really a woman, I'm a horse

Yes. Hostile. You literally argued others were somehow wrong, and that they got their opinions from somebody else's talking points, implying the source should be slapped to get rid of the taste in their mouth. Aside from that "dickhead" response, all you do is shit post about how bad Microsoft and Xbox is like a console warrior on the spectrum. I don't care if you own an Xbox or not, it doesn't validate your opinions or erase the point that you're an angry asshole.

Microsoft is chasing non-gamers who have mobile devices with a cheap service. I'm pointing out that there are plenty of non-gamers that used to be into it who are ready and accepting to cheap services. You're here kicking and screaming about being proved right or wrong, getting schooled, how nobody really likes mobile gaming, how it won't work, or how entitled you are to better things, etc.

You want to call me a dickhead or a hypocrite, go ahead, I don't care. At least I know when to not be.
