NINJA GAIDEN: Master Collection will require a gamepad, won’t support keyboard & mouse

KyoZz

Tag, you're it.
It appears that this collection will be a barebones port and nothing more.

According to producer Fumihiko Yasuda, this collection will not support keyboard and mouse, and will require a gamepad. This is definitely something that will disappoint a number of PC gamers.

Not only that, but the game will not feature an extensive amount of graphics settings. The game will support 4K and 60fps, but don’t expect unlocked framerates.
Furthermore, the first NINJA GAIDEN Sigma game is based on the PS Vita version. According to the developers, the data for Ninja Gaiden Black and Ninja Gaiden 2 is too fragmented and can’t be salvaged. As such, Team Ninja has decided to port/remaster the PS Vita versions.

In short, don’t expect much from this upcoming collection. So, if you thought that the PC port of Nioh 2 was average, you should brace yourselves for what NINJA GAIDEN: Master Collection will really be.
NINJA GAIDEN: Master Collection releases on June 10th.

But, my new keyboard is so cute, it has rainbow light backlit :(
Now being serious, My fingers would hurt, so it is a non issue for me.

Ima be real with you, usually this is a no no... but to all the muthafuckers out there who will actually be mad at this, and there will be some... WTF is wrong with you wanting to play these games on a fucking keyboard? xD

but, it will be easy enough to use key mapping software to map controller buttons to a keyboard I bet (if something like this exists... which I honestly don't know, the other way around sure, there's a lot of those...)

Ah yes, the revered tradition of throwing away source codes and data rears it's ugly head again. The industry might as well be transparent and compare video games to the sneaker industry.

I don't see why they don't throw the BC versions of black and 2 that MS made and just throw those on a disc...

Will it support cockpit joystick?

Actually, I could see the game being fun to play like this. Imagine "flying swallow" being performed by lunging the joystick forward and clicking down with your index.

Who would want to use mouse and keyboard for a game like this anyway?
I say that, but this means a certain review bombing on Steam, assuming this collection is coming to Steam.
Which is a shame. I just cant imagine having fun trying to control a game as quick and hard as these with K/M.

or you just in general buy these?
you can get Ninja Gaiden Black either digitally or used for around 10 bucks. Ninja Gaiden 2 is a bit more expensive it seems at around 20 bucks.
the collection is $45 it seems and noone needs Ninja Gaiden 3 anyways, even the Razor's Edge version is fucking awful, so save some money and get the good versions :) Ninja Gaiden Black is 1920p60fps on One X/Series X and 1440p60 on Series S. Ninja Gaiden 2 is 1755p60 on OneX/Series X and 1170p60 on Series S
all the slowdowns Ninja Gaiden 2 had are completely gone as well when played on these systems.

I scoff at games with duct taped support for unsuitable input devices. If the developers really have determined keyboards and mice are not ideal, they shouldn't feel compelled to waste their time on it.

A mod is inevitable, but a responsible modder will admit it isn't recommended.

Yea I'm not saying don't buy the BC versions, I just think its fucked up they selling Xbox gamers these PS Vita ports when they literally have better versions already done and its the perfect excuse to put those better versions on physical format.

I can't believe people are buying it.
Literally, why would they use Vita versions as a base for the Remaster for Sigma?

well at least the Vita version of Sigma 2 had blood lol. but I wonder how much of that Vita heritage will be noticeable.

I doubt they using the Vita versions as a base, they also don't even mention that in the original article that this article sources.
I think they taking the piss

is it known if Sigma 2 will have blood tho? like, that was the 1 thing the Vita version had going for itself

But what about PS3 versions of Sigma 1 & 2 (which I've played and finished)? Too lazy / can't be bothered to reverse engineer them to work on the PS4?

I wonder how much of that Vita heritage will be noticeable.
I think we will see Vita roots all over the place and if they'll change anything, it'll be hi-res textures, 4K 60 support, maybe blood in the first Sigma and that's it. I mean, it's Koei Tecmo, not Blue Point, so you reelly can't expect a lot from them... only bare-bones ports at best.

Yup whomever wrote this is blissfully unaware of what the differences between the vita and ps3 sigma versions are. Load of shite article

The screenshots on the psn page are VITA quality.

ERA says its Ninja Gaiden Sigma VITA->Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 PS3(without the blood)->NG Razors Edge

Hi

They already told that this ports/remasters are from ps3 and not vita, they only added Hero mode on sigma 2 and take out co op. Vita i think doesnt have team missions and this have, only you cant co op.

I care more about it being the worse Sigma versions and the boob physics are censored. Won't be buying until it's cheap.

The controller news is whatever. I don't know how anyone can use keyboard for games specificially designed with controllers in mind.

Based on the Vita versions of all things though? Sigma's bad enough but this may be too much. I'd rather wait for 360 emulation to catch up.

Vita-based remasters is just pure speculation based on screenshot, which was started on resetera. Koei said that remasters based on PS3 versions but will also include game modes from vita ports.
"The Ninja Gaiden Master Collection is based on the PS3 version in quality (such as CG models, etc), but will include modes from the PS Vita version."
