Does anybody have any suggestions on what games people probably should purchase because of their Rarity on the physical front like Persona 3 or 4?

Don't be shy about giving some solid reasons like a link to some outrageous eBay prices for Playstation One classics lol

smh, they don't give a fuck around Ebay, its not even new ^

I tried to buy some games a few weeks ago on the ps3 store and it did not work. I will try later today on the mexico store i hope i can buy some games. I got a retro ps3 like a month ago and bought a second hand vagrant story.

Now that is a damn classic right there. I own like 2 copies. I got it when it first came out, disk got scratched, bought one online used.....it was also scratched so for years I just gave up and then got it off of PSN a few years ago.

If you come across a clean PS1 classic, hold on to that shit, its like gold now lol CD's scratch sooooo easily compared to Bluray disk, it makes it hard to find quality versions of those older titles.

I have pretty much everything I want on it since I have a Series X for my multi-platform games. I have my PS3 for the Ratchet and Clank, inFamous, God of War, and Sly Cooper games among other Sony exclusives.
I did realize that I wanted to finish getting the Tales games while I could, so I am on a mad dash to get those before the end of June.

Facts. I forgot about that Ratchet and Clank collection and Sly collection.

I'll also look up those Tales titles as they have a good amount.

The Tales games are a bit pricey still, at around $40, but the discs are a bit more expensive at this point and will only keep going up. I have all of the PS1 and PS2 games that I want, with the exception of Motor Toon Grand Prix. I keep waiting to pick it up, but now I need to get on it.

Eternal Sonata never got the BC treatment on Xbox One/Series systems, which is where I finished it. I found it for $15 on Amazon a couple of weeks ago and picked it up. I really need to pick up You Don’t Know Jack for the PS3. I loved it on the DS, but need to get it here soon.

Not exactly rare, but also not seen very often: Castlevania: Lament of Innocence is one I have on my PS3. Capcom vs SNK 2 is another good one. Dark Cloud 2 too.

If I remeber correctly Eternal Sonata on the Ps3 have much more content than the X360 version.

Yes, and from what I can tell, it seems a little harder too. That could be me though. I was talking with a friend over the weekend about it and he told me that Eternal Sonata is one of the best Tales games he has ever played. He has pretty much played all of them, so I need to check out some of his recommendations.

It's really old shit, but I enjoyed playing Captain Comnmndoes and Dead Nation on my brother's PS3. Two good games that have coop play (EDIT. CC is only online and who knows if it's still online... probably not, so SP only). Although there's a better Dead Nation for PS4 so maybe dont bother.

Dead Nation is a top-down shoot 'em up video game for the PlayStation 3 developed by video game developer Housemarque. It was released on November 30, 2010 in North America, and December 1 in the PAL region, on PlayStation Network.[4] Dead Nation takes place in a world afflicted by a zombie apocalypse. The player can choose between a male or female character and battle different types of zombies. Dead Nation was part of Sony's "Welcome Back" package, created to resolve the initial PlayStation Network outage.[5] In February 2014 a PlayStation 4 version of the game titled the Apocalypse Edition was announced along with the PlayStation Vita version. The original Road of Devastation downloadable content was included for the PS3 and Vita versions, and the PS4 version was free for PlayStation Plus subscribers in March 2014.[6] The PS4 and Vita versions were ported to Japan for release on May 29, 2014.[7]

Crash Commando, is a side-scrolling multiplayer shooter game pitting two commando factions, the Grunts and the Jarheads, against each other. Crash Commando is a fast-paced, comedic game with over-the-top, slapstick action that features exaggerated gore and effects.

The player controls a commando with a range of weapons and other equipment at his disposal, including a jetpack, a rocket launcher, C4, jeeps, and tanks. Each map consists of two gameplay layers the player can move between via portals in the environment.

Yup.

Respect to anyone who still has an original launch PS3 fat thats BC. Sony's best media player (imho), only place where you legit can play all 5 Persona games lol

Help yourself before its closed as this time can be used to really see what you might want on that platform digitally. I'm surprised so much wasn't ported, like I'm REALLY surprised Persona 3 and 4 never got ported to PS4 or Switch, that seemed like some free money right there lol

Fuck going on at Sega? They love doing that shit, port like a dozen games lol

Yet we out here waiting on a Sonic Adventure, Jet Set Radio, Crazy Taxi, Persona 1, 2, 3 and 4 port. I felt out of all companies they would legit go port crazy with that IP like we've been seeing with Yakuza. So if anyone is on the fence with Persona 2, 3, 4....I'd think about grabbing them from PSN cause I don't really know when they will port those titles or remaster them.

I just bought:
Legend of dragoon
Parasite eve 1 and 2
Chrono cross
Xenogears
Fatal frame 1, 2 and 3
FFIX and FFVIII
SILENT HILL

i will probably buy another batch later this month. I had an ssd lying around and just installed it on the ps3. Lets see how it performs on all these digital games.

I'm about to mod my PS3. I feel im better off doing it this way than investing a bunch in games to wake up and hear the news that Sony will no longer support downloading your purchases for these platforms (which will happen at some point).
I was considering doing this and buying like a 4TB HDD and loading all my favs into it but then I heard about PS3s having issues with Hdds over a certain size, is there any truth to that?

Not sure about this. What I do know is that there appears to be no 100% safe way to use a PSN account online with a cfw system.

So either dont use PSN after installing CFW or make a burner account.

I'd check gbatemp for info. I'd rather invest in a cfw setup than sonys ecosystem as at least with cfw/homebrew your games and backups will be around forever and can be moved to other systems once the store stops allowing people to download their content.

I finished the X360 and Ps3 version when they released, my memory just isn't that good and a long time has passed, but from what I remember the X360 version looked more like a rushed game (more like a beta) compared to the very improved ps3 version, yeah the game plays nice, wouldn't even bother with the X360 version I see it more like an incomplete version of the game.

Has anybody heard anything about these SD card adaptors?

Are they legit, Vita memory cards cost hundreds of dollars otherwise :[

I have an older one, works fine. You will still need a memory card (if your Vita does not have internal storage) if you want to dump game cards without being connected to a computer, because SD2Vita cards are modified game cards and go in that slot. They are intended for you to dump game cards/crack DL'd games, transfer them to the memory card/internal memory/PC, then transfer them to the microSD card in the SD2Vita.

CFW'ing a Vita is dead easy as well.

I'd really like most, if not all, of these digitally released games on a physical PS3 disc to be frank. Hope some limited run company takes notice of this and makes it happen. Anyway:

I got my eyes on Fret nice. A music side-scrolling platformer published by Koei Tecmo way back (also released on XBLA).

FYI, Tales of Symphonia + new dawn and Graces f had a physical compilation released containing all of them.

I recommend people get Trash panic and Numblast while they can. Both unique and fun JAPAN studio puzzle games that were unrighteously ignored. Pixeljunk Eden is another recommendation if you haven't played it.

Games I've bought today:

Strider 2
Daytona USA
SMT: DDS and DDS 2
SMT: DS: Raidou Vs the soulless army and 2: Vs. King Abaddon
Fire Pro Returns
Fatal Frame II
Persona 4

Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown tragically exists only on digital.
And soon, not even there anymore.

Buy it now, or lose it forever.
you can play it in Yakuza 6 and Judgement tho.

Biggest digital only PS3 titles in my estimation.

Hot Shots Golf World Invitational (PSN PS3 exclusive)
The House of the Dead 4 (PSN PS3 exclusive)
Mamorukun Curse! (PSN PS3 exclusive - on Xbox only in japan)
Metal Gear Database (PSN PS3 exclusive - not a game but still essential to have for Metal Gear fans)

Gaia Seed (PS1)
Zanac X Zanac (PS1)
Suikoden 1, 2, 3, 4 (PS1 and 2)
Grandia 1 and 3 (PS1 and 2)
Klonoa (PS1)
Strider 2 (PS1)
Vagrant Story (PS1)
FF Tactics (PS1)

The PSN exclusive stuff - PS3 is the only way to get this stuff.
The PS2 and PS1 real copies have skyrocketed in price, if you want a "legit" copy, best to DL them on PS3 while they are still up.

Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown tragically exists only on digital.
And soon, not even there anymore.

Buy it now, or lose it forever.
This game is BC on all xbox's - still playable online - the xbox VF5FS is the official version they use for Team Spooky's tourney streams. Just saying.

Has anyone been able to purchase the full version of Super Rub a Dub? I have the demo version installed, but when I try to to do the purchase/upgrade in game, it brings up a web browser page with a “Access Denied” error. There is an entry for it in the store, but clicking that only gives a “This product cannot be purchased at this time” message. I get the feeling that the only way to buy this in game, but because it’s done through the system web browser, and the PS3 can’t be accessed that way anymore, it’s essentially prematurely delisted. But I hope I’m wrong on that.

For PS3 some games and DLC to consider is for Asura's Wrath, Folklore,Castlevania Harmony of Dissonance and Prince of Persia 2008
Also Rain and Tokyo Jungle and Drakengard 3+DLC are also great.
For PSP Valkyria Chronicles 2 DLC and Brandish are worth looking into
For PSV check out Adventures of Mana.

Also for PSP , more digital only releases for Generation of Chaos: Pandora's Reflection, Black Rock Shooter: The Game and NeoGeo Heroes:Ultimate Shooting.

PSP:
Jeanne d'Arc
Tactics Ogre: LOCT
Final Fantasy Tactics: WotL
Silent Hill Games

Vita:
Soul Sacrifice Delta
Adventures of Mana
Uncharted: Golden Abyss
La Mulana EX

PS3:
Resistance 1, 2
Condemned 2

Not sure if the PS3 ones are on PSN, they sure won't be soon.

This is great topic. I have a giant list of games from about 8 years of ps+, but still it's a good idea to nab some classics.
Probably will get god of war 1+2 if possible.
