More I see this game, more off putting it looks. I remember having an ok time with the beta. The walking and running animations felt weird. Gameplay itself didn't feel engaging when playing as thor and iron man.

This game is without a doubt a bigger failure and ripoff that No Mans Sky ever was. This game is also worse than both Anthem and Fallout 76.

Cyberpunk should've been considered Game of the Year compared to how the Avengers was released. Whereas Cyberpunk was a deliberately broken game, Avengers is a broken game lacking any definitive content to justify a 20$ price tag.

Few games have ever left me feeling so ripped off, Marvel Avengers is the #1 absolute worst pile of dogshit

Also, I would advise against paying full price for the game; right now, this game is roughly like how Battlefront 2 was at launch - a total shitshow. But, like BF2, there is the essence of a good game cradled deep within all the bloat, just horribly marred by reused levels and repetitive level design, unbalanced enemies, incredibly bland cosmetics (no MCU skins, for example.), etc. They also - for whatever reason - plan to increase the level grinding on the same patch that the next-gen update drops, so there's that. There are times where the immersion of feeling like an Avenger as you mow down waves of robots feel actually rather satisfying, but the game has a ton of issues it needs the sift through before it becomes something resembling a great game.

Wait for a sale.

The cosmetic thing also reeks of cynicism since they're removing the drops but not putting them back in the store, and the store update is some later TBD date.

It's amazing how little talk there is around this game and it only launched in September.

How is it worse than Anthem? the one thing i would say Anthem has over it is loot. Combat might be a wash as they are both good. Enemy A.I is better in Avengers. And the campaign of Avengers is hands down better than Anthems. the live service element in both is bad. But store content is much better in Avengers as there is a ton of skins that are relatively easy to get, unlike Anthem which has a bad confusing store. And i've put like 50 hrs in Anthem at least and could never afford a cool "wrap" skin. Meanwhile i've gotten several good ones in Avengers.

Campaign is good. Characters movesets are great. Some of the characters have fun movement. Games super repetitive and not in a good way. Fighting the enemies just isn't very fun which is a shame because it has great combat.

It has potential. But ultimately it becomes a loop of going into a big open map thats kinda barren and everythings far away. beat up a couple robots. take an elevator to an underground science lab. Beat up more robots. And the next thing u know its been 40 mins.

Why they hell would you want to have players go through the slow ass leveling up over and over again?

The first character you level is pretty fast, level and power wise. But every character after that is already slow as hell, because you're just forced to do a lot of low level boring mission over and over.
And now they want to make unlocking the movesets -even slower-? Nobody is going to bother leveling other characters after this, since you still need to go through the boring shit to raise the power, now you're just going to be doing it with boring ass movesets.

I've held for for a few reasons so far: Grind, no campaign replayability, shitty end-game, bugs, same gameplay loop.

I've been hoping it would get better as time goes on, especially nearing the "next gen" patches.

LOL it's not the first time they've increased the grind. They've nerfed drop rates multiple times before. I'd feel gipped that I renewed my PS+ sub for this when it released but 2021's PS+ games have helped wash away the regrets I have about this game.

Don't PS5 versions need save migration? So you'd need to run the ps4 version and do the migration.
