New Halo Infinite info revealed in huge Q&A: Day/night cycle, dynamic weather and more

I kinda wish they postponed it one more year tbh. I really want to play it asap but I'd rather wait for it to become a better game. I think they would need one more year to leave it all good tbh

Agreed. Their new video post re-enthused me for the game. But hearing that there's now no weather beyond just the generic day/night cycle dimmed that enthusiasm somewhat.

I am getting the hype up again.
I would not be worried about weather. It would be a new cool addition, but it may not be game changing.

I would really like them to have time to polish:
- Level design: Offer a peak experience in interiors, exteriors, vehicle sections, epic situations, open battles, one on ones, etc...
- Enemy behavior: spot and damage reactions, animations, to make sure they offer enough head/weak shot and other opportunities of interactions. To make sure you can read them and strategize. And to feel the power of every impact of every bullet.
- Weapon behavior and feel. Make every shot feel great. Make every weapon an object of desire.
- Aiming help, bullet help, magnetism & camera behavior. Make sure you feel like a badass super human.
- Team AI. That was a fundamental aspect of the first game that I feel has been a bit lost as time passed. I'd like to see enemy packs working together better than ever, and when I say better, I mean in a better way, I want to see them run in fear, bother each other, command each other, help each other, etc... For this is crucial that they speak human again, as by speaking they can tell the player what are they doing and why, otherwise they just move, shoot and do a couple of animations, you never know if they are trying to surround you, to cover each other, getting a better angle, searching for you, etc....

To tweak it all together and make a truly memorable gameplay experience. That is what I find most important in a Halo game.

I would hope for quality before quantity every time. I would rather they focus on the basics and deliver a few incredible missions with top notch gameplay than to make a long, big game that has a weak gameplay experience.

I don't agree with much that I read on the internet but your post is totally point, mate. I completely agree. 343 needs people like you on the dev team.

While we're making wishes:

Cortana should go back being Master Chief's companion, instead of a nemesis... just like she was in Halo 1,2 ,3, 4.

It needs that extra year to be fully polished but hey, it's GaaS so they have 10 years to get there...

Thanks man :)

I totally agree with you on Cortana.
She was your partner in the main games, and it should be that way again. She had an important role on the game and the gameplay. She was the smart one, the hacker, the coms, navigator, etc... She was the one moving you forward, giving waypoints, unlocking doors, etc... and it was a cool character whom I'd like to see more of.
I would not mind getting the one from Halo 1,2,3 or the one in Halo 4. Both characters, while different, worked fine for me. I didn't like the one in Halo 5, I didn't like her personality or her looks.
At this point I guess you may get another Cortana, a backup from some time ago or a new model for a fresh start. I do hope she looks like the real Cortana though, not the ridiculous robot/clothed one from 5.

It would be awesome if you could upgrade her through the story and the open world. I feel like this would not break the game at all but could give you access to more areas, better info, and use some new skills. Same with a monitor.

Unless I'm reading the tea leaves wrong, we're getting a Cortana v2 based on the new novel Shadows of Reach where at Halsey's request, MC and crew go back to Sword Base on Reach and then down to Halsey's ruined lab to pick up an unknown item (that's been there since the start of the Covenant conflict by definition) which is humanity's apparent only hope against Cortana. 343 knows they done fucked up and no one is on board with evil Cortana with the jacked up mug.
