The Evil Within and More Bethesda Games Coming To Game Pass

The Evil Within will be one of the many games that will be added to the Xbox Game Pass. A listing for the Windows version is now up on the Microsoft Store.

The Evil Within is one of the games that was never released on Game Pass. Neither the original game nor its sequel was made available to Game Pass subscribers. This could change soon as a new Windows version has been found on the Microsoft Store with a release date of March 12. This coincides with an earlier announcement by Microsoft which teased more Bethesda Games coming to Game Pass.

Today, Microsoft confirmed that their acquisition of Bethesda is coming and some of the games developed by Bethesda will now release exclusively for Xbox and PC in addition to Game Pass. They also teased more Bethesda games that will be added to the subscription service.

  • The Evil Within
  • The Evil Within 2
  • DOOM 3 BFG Edition
  • Dishonored: Definitive Edition
  • Dishonored: Death of the Outsider
  • The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
  • The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
Not a bad start. Although I own both EW on Ps4.

So It Begins Helms Deep GIF

Gamepass keeps winning, best value in gaming hands down, just need Jim Ryan to pull his finger out his stinking arse and get a revamp going for PS Now.

Nice. Always wanted to try the Dishonored dlc but only own the standard version on Steam. Death of the Outsider will be played too, never played that one.
I can now also finally finish The Evil Within 2.

Nice, I own EW but got it right when RE3make came out and put it on the backlog. Have also wanted to play Dishonored but only the second one is on GamePass.

The first Evil Within is kind of janky, but don't sleep on the second game. Especially at 60fps now.
Man, I played the majority of the demo but just wasn't feeling the stealth aspect. It seemed like there's a way bigger focus on stealth and I just wasn't feeling it.

Please tell me if I'm wrong because I would like to see it through if it gets better. The liked the first game, definitely has it's issues but a fun experience nonetheless.

As long as Game Pass exists those games will stay and never leave.
Yeah, sure, I was a Gamepass subscriber, only to find out that I really don't like a 'NetFlix' like model for videogames, but I find it useful for anyone who might like it, though.

If Sony could make money this way, they would already be doing it.
Sony absolutely would make money this way, but it's next to impossible to get people to understand the notion of making more for charging less.

From the perspective of a Sony exec, especially an older Sony exec, why should they give away their games when their games already sell well enough to be successful?

Once Gamepass really starts to prove itself, Sony will start to transition, if they haven't already. They just need to see someone else be the Guinea pig first. How that delay will impact sales will be really interesting.

Half of these games are on PS Now right now so I guess they already are lol
Dats not running on ps4/ps5 hardware tho so like they aren’t developing to run on the metal in a game pass or on a directx like emulator layer? so like I guess they wouldn’t make that much money at 10-20$ a month unless they would so they would make money? Like who gunna buy old games that much vs a sustained subscription income? Who wanna run games on playstation now with input lag? Sony arrogance? Would it lead to emulation?

Dishonored 1+2 and TEW 2 are download titles, so they are native PS4 games you download and play like any other game, but yeah Oblivion is PS3 streaming only. I don't think Sony has much interest in actual PS3 emulation for whatever reason.

Sony Is a Move/Tv production company as well as a Music Label. They should know that Subscription services have a bright future.

always chasing the next thrill
with my current backlog i don't see much point in gamepass.
strange that not a lot of people on neogaf have a similar problem ;)

like the value is great,, but i basically spend a monthly fee to have even more games available i won't play

Yeah, but it doesn't necessarily mean they're talking to each other or that they value the products equally.

Also, most steaming services in other mediums are third party. I guess there's more risk involved if you're 'devaluing' your own product (even if that's not how it turns out).

It would be cool if Microsoft could add controller support for Gamepass games. I'd be all over Oblivion and Morrowind if they did.
I wonder if its soemthing they could add to Gamepass itself in the futre, kind of like how Steam does it with Big Picture Mode.

Yup, but it’s actually really simple , price low is more sales, price high is less sales, if you count it all based on old methods you would always prefer the old method ..

But it’s quantity that matters with a low price ..

Haven't these been on GP since forever? Or am I thinking of PS Now? I just assumed they were free everywhere by now.
The Wolfenstein and Dishonored games are on Now, although they're getting next-gen patches so will be better on Xbox (presuming the age rating is correct and the patch doesn't make the jump to Playstation).

Anything older than PS4 is going to be better on Gamepass by default, because it won't be streamed.

It's only PS3 games (that didn't get a PS4 version) that are streaming only. Games before and after are all available to download.
