Today, as a member of ecosystem players, Denuvo will carry on its mission of bringing fairness and fun back to gaming by providing its Anti-Cheat solution to all developers who want to protect their games and gamers, from hackers and cheaters, on PlayStation®5. According to its Global Gaming Survey, 77% of the gamers express being repelled from a game due to cheating occurring, creating a tremendous risk on monetization of games.

Denuvo’s Anti-Cheat incorporates advanced technology to secure both online gameplay as well as securely reward offline progress. The technology helps game developers protect sensitive game logic or data, preventing cheaters from changing sensitive variables and ensuring its trustworthiness. A number of games incorporated Denuvo’s Anti-Cheat at launch of PlayStation®5 to ensure best experience for the gamers.

“Cheating ruins video games for honest players,” said Reinhard Blaukovitsch, Managing Director of Denuvo, Irdeto. “This can lead to lower engagement, game traffic and shrinking revenues for game publishers. We are really proud be able to help the world’s most talented developers to bring rich experiences for gamers on Playstation®5.”

Aren’t there like no hacks on ps4? Doesn’t it take away from graphics and cpu processing? So does this mean ps5 is hacked? Well like consoles are supposed to not get cracked if ever so.... and it’s not a big issue compared to pc.

Seems redundant? Cheating in games should by and large require the ability to run unsigned code (i.e. homebrew) on the system. Both PS4 and XBO were very resilient in that regard (XBO went the entire console generation without piracy/homebrew and PS4 was only hacked on early firmware versions to my knowledge).

Unless the unsigned code is going to script the game servers and effect the signed code. But that was supposed to be impossible? I think vanilla wow had a pvp run gank animation that was a hack. They moved fast and shit.

Is it this bad? I don't follow pc stuffs as I'm not interested. But if it's this bad and won't be on Xbox this could be a win and pro for Xbox platform over ps platform.

This would also confirm once more that Jimbo and Hermen are two subhumans retards.

So like technically they could mod/hack single player unbeknowingly if you log on multiplayer lol so you have to track packets? 1 odd packet over time? Bittorrent tech? Bitcoin miners? File editing rather than file replacement?

Denuvo has always been available for Playstation and Xbox.

All this PR is saying is that they are now officially in Sony's DevNet licensed tools list. They are "certified" by Sony, and show up in menus on the Playstation Dev Tools and whatnot.

Read this:

edit: Also possible this wasn't available on PS5, as they hadn't passed their certification process.. but I doubt that, I would assume you could use middleware not on Sony's "lists", this is just an extra certification making you more official, and in the menus Sony provides in their tools/websites/etc.

Honest question is there an issue with cheating on consoles?

Uuumm yeah. From modded consoles themselves to 3rd party controllers that give you 0 recoil on weapons etc... Plenty of cheating going on, not as crazy as PC but there is definitely cheating.

It's very limited compared to PC but there are hacks on PS4 for online multiplayer. For that they capture and modify internet traffic between both players or between player and server, not the console.

There is a PSN security layer that can detect you are doing that and ban your account, but some hackers know how to avoid it and access (and modify, depending on the game implementation and protection) of the game specific traffic.

Doesn’t it take away from graphics and cpu processing?
Unless super awfully implemented no, players shouldn't notice a small encryption/decription. With protecting only certain progress/economy/online mp sensible data in a decent way, the impact should be way, way less than a fps on any modern console or PC. Basically unnoticiable for anyone.

Denuvo present on consoles!... I fell sorry for console gamers.
Denuvo on Playstation ?

More shit news on ps after Jim Ryan took in
Oh for fuck's sake.

Is this Denuvo garbage also on Xbox, btw?

Denuvo in consoles isn't something new, it has been available for consoles during years. This news means they included Denuvo to the catalog of official tools Sony provides to the PS5 game devs. Devs are free to use these tools provided by Sony or not, to use other middleware or to create their own ones.

Denuvo was on PlayStation and Xbox years before Jim Ryan became CEO of SIE.

Denuvo is available for PS4, PS5, XBO, Series X|S in addition to PC (Steam, Epic, Origin, uPlay, MS Store, Oculus store, Tencent's WeGame...) and mobile (Apple AppStore, Google Play, Amazon Apps, Samsung & Huawei stores...).

I dont play online much anymore, and aside from giant hacks in old COD games, I don;t think I experienced cheating on console gaming.

Are there any console games now with rampant cheating and modding?

if it's still from importing ps3 modified save cheating power found limit since you're limited to base d3 game and the game has added huge power scaling seasons after seasons
shit like 3 gemmed weapon or rings

At the risk of sounding like an idiot, I don't even know how hacks/cheats work on consoles anymore. Are people using custom firmware or something?
