Hidden Path Entertainment, the studio that worked with Valve to develop Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, is working on a AAA RPG that will take place inside the Dungeons & Dragons franchise.

The studio shared the news on Twitter by calling out for potential Graphics Programmers, Lead Graphics Programmers, Senior Technical Artists, and Writers to apply to join the team and work on this project. Here is what we can learn:

- The game is build with the Unreal Engine 4
- Third-person view
- Open-world, set in a (obviously) fantasy land
- PC, but the studio is searching people "experienced in console technology"
- They search a writer who has "narrative branching skills"

A few words from the Studio:

It's probably being developed to go along with the rumored movie.

It's not a rumor anymore, Hugh Grant as joined the casting

Hoping for the best.

I honestly miss movie games. I know most people have bad memories of them but I mainly hold fond memories of games like Two Towers on PS2, Riddick on Xbox, Star Wars Episode 3, HP Quidditch World, Goldeneye, etc.

Thanks, wasn't aware of that.
But is the success good overall or did it ruin it in some ways?
Some things are good, some are bad, as always, but on average it is in a pretty good state right now. You can always ignore the Sword Coast and make your own world, which is what most people do anyway unless they play an official scenario. WotC can talk about diversity all they want but you can just use the rules and make it as diverse as you want. Their newest attempts to make the game more diverse was to remove racial stereotypes so in their most recent sourcebook they added new rules which basically boil down to this "put attribute points wherever you want and call yourself whatever you want". It isn't very exciting or innovative but at least it didn't feel preachy and it didn't break anything.

Ask me about my terrible takes on Star Trek characters

I hated it. If everyone plays the same what is the point. I found those differences between races to be interesting.

What do you "hate" about a module you are under no obligation to use? So if someone creates an elf that has no charisma and instead puts it all into strength to role-play an outcast who had some birth defects or was adopted into an orc mercenary band shortly after birth how does it negatively impact you? You can still make your cookie cutter elf if you want, there is literally nobody forcing you to do otherwise.
