[DF] Ghost Recon Breakpoint PS5 vs Xbox Series S/X

According to NXgamer here, Series, has more cars, more people, more characters, and better graphics, including geometric affects. The PS5 not as taxed as the Series X with the engine. The series is better version for experience. Performance wise PS5 doing better with the FPS because that version had less stuff in the game.

I just stole this from a reddit thread

  • PS5: dynamic 1188p, unlocked 60 FPS
  • PS4 Pro: dynamic 972-1188p, capped 30 FPS
  • Base PS4: 720-900p, 15-30 FPS "w/ big hiccups" [other article]
  • XsX Quality: dynamic 1512-1722p, up to 1800p, capped 30 FPS capped (+AO)
  • XsX Performance: (usually) locked 1080p, unlocked 60 FPS
  • XsS: <1080p-1296p, unlocked 30 FPS (+AO)
  • XoS: 810p
DF notes:

  • not yet optimized for next gen (PS5/XsX/XsS enhanced version due in 2021). All consoles generally appear blurry, from aggressive TAA and low resolution, exacerbated by chromatic aberration and film grain setting.
  • PS5 basically runs the PS4Pro version of the game, but faster FPS. This means you can see lighting draw in, and have less dense city details than XsX/XsS. 1188p is 55% pixel count of a 4K image. Not using RDNA2 feature set. No PS5 quality mode (yet).
  • PS5 fewer slowdowns than XsX, but XsX provides denser city w/more NPCs+vehicles.
  • PS5 best frame rates w/nearly locked 60 FPS, some dips into 50's in city. Feels buttery smooth, better than other consoles. Brute forces away technical problems.
  • XsX has best graphical quality in Quality mode. Visuals are cleaner from better reflections, texture filtering, volumetric fog, ambient occlusion, etc. DF prefers the stability of this mode, even with the reduced FPS.
  • XsX performance mode dips into 50s and does not hold 60 FPS as often than PS5. But XsX is running a denser more detailed version of the city. Not apples-to-apples comparison.
  • XsS runs tweaked X quality mode with city density benefits of XsX (surprising), but at a lower FPS. Has moments of dips and seizing up. Potential IO issue?
  • "If you want 60 FPS, go with PS5 version. If you are okay with 30 FPS and want improved visuals, go with XsX Quality mode."

This is based on DF's analysis. Sounds like the game in BC runs higher settings on Series X, and PS5 has smoothest framerate option on consoles right now

Yes, it has higher graphical settings on XSX, visibly more characters and cars, but environment in some scenes looks to me pretty similar, anyway, also, NX Gamer also said this in video. Regarding X1X and PS4 Pro since it runs in BC mode on XSX and PS5

QUOTE from 5:00

But overall the X1X is sub 30 to often. And PS4 Pro does dip, but it gets back to that 33 ms times quicker than X1X which consistently in the heavier just sits under it as you can see here. Now some of that is down to fact it runs at higher resolution on average, it is got the additional geometry, the lighting, the bloom, all of those areas pushed further out the lot, so it is drawing more characters, so it is just to high for the hardware, they need to just cut it back and generally this means that the performance on X1X is incosistent

Quote from 6:25

it is got a sharper image and it is got more detail but it comes at the cost of the performance and to me it is just not the right choice, they need to scale that back.

So, CDPR should scale down settings on X1X version and XSX will run it as good as PS5 like it is now

@Old Empire. The series X has better CPU and GPU.

Not this crap again. GPU sure, in some parts, but CPU difference is meaningless, especially in SMT.

@Old Empire.

That's the problem. How do you compare games that don't run the same way visually? PS5 downgraded to hit 60 fps. What would the FPS run at , with same settings as Xbox Series?

Since XSX is running at noticeably worse framerate with higher graphical settings, PS5 probably would run same as XSX version then. Sadly.

Exactly.

I would love to see PS5's framerate if it ran the game at the XSX superior graphical settings.

Totally.

I guess the 8 and 16 bit games are the best of all console gaming. Most games ran at 60 fps. No doubt at a higher probability than modern day games which ride that 30-60 fps range.

Hmmm.... I wonder why games on systems 10000x weaker could run their games at 60 fps.

But if you, Xbox users, love crappy framerate, enjoy

I love coming in these threads where nobody plans to play the actual game but y'all go to war arguing about the sh*t :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Series X and PS5 owner here with no dog in the fight, I just come for the arguing
I used to pick a side. Then I realised how fucking stupid it is. Now I just go where the games are.
If it runs better on a calculator, then that's what I'll get, I don't give an iota of a fuck.

Man I got a 3090, Switch, 2 PS5's, and 2 Series X's in my house right now lol. I always have been a multi-platform owner regardless of the generation going all the way back to when my Mom/Dad had a Sega Genesis and Super NES. Or when my dad had a Sega Saturn and a PS1 and then a n64 when it dropped.

I never really been part of the 'wars' but I damn sure enjoy watching them lmao

(nice setup, tho, not gonna lie. that 3090 gonna age like fine wine with all that VRAM. I'm already worried about needing to upgrade my 3080 sooner than later)
lol you say fancy, my wife says spoiled rotten

If the 3080TI is real I think a lot of people with 3080s are gonna flip their GPUs and go grab it. Only reason I was able to grab mine is because a frat bro of mine is the manager of our local Microcenter and I had to bother the shit out of him all launch week for it, sent em like 500 texts and he came through *looks around* lol

I've never owned more than 1 platform ever.

I have owned Xbox 360, PS1, PS2, PS3 on separate occasions. This year is the first time I'm going to be a multiplatform owner and it's mainly due to GamePass making this possible. I only have to make sure I have my GamePass sub up and running and I'm good to go. I'm legit not planning any outright purchases on Xbox.

I'll coast on GamePass and PS4 Pro until I can get my hands on a PS5.

BTW, that's one helluva gaming setup you got with all that kit. Seems too much for you brother. I can help share the load. You really don't need x2 PS5's. It's too much brother. Share the load.

Guys - you are making fools out of yourself. PS5 can only run back-ward compatibility as a PS4Pro and it is software driven.

XSX has hardware based backward compatibility which is much better. What you see has nothing to do with the hardware capabilities as such when both consoles are running code natively.

All games running in backward compatibility mood should be better on XSX. Period. Anything else would indicate bugs.

People who don’t consider this a win on Xbox because it’s back compat, are in denial. If a game plays better, it plays better. The end.

WHO DO I TRUST???? WHO THE FUCK CAN I TRUST????

Wow, that desperate for an Xbox win huh? The consoles have been out for 3 months now and you still don't understand that Xbox's BC is vastly superior to the PS5's? And that in the context of next gen performance these comparisons mean twice as much as nothing all?

If you don't know how BC works by now, then there really is no point trying inform you.

Embarrassing

Rapid question, where do i buy this thing:

the shameful ps5 version at 60 frame and 1080pffff
or pc with a 2070super\8600k\16gr ddr4?

Does this thing keeps at least 1440p60 rock solid with good details on my system or is the usual pc ubisoft open world shitshow and i have to play with settings for 45 min?

Price is pretty low on both, the 5hameful version is 5 dollars pricier tho.

From checking the video looks about 40-50 ultra 1440p and 50-55 on very high 1440p
