Another low effort BC patch
That explains why it was a low effort lol.for a game no one plays?
There's clearly something wrong, we all know how PS5 runs PS4 Pro Enhanced titles and by this, outside the 1080p60fps modeThen what's going on? You tell me.
Is Series S hardware (GPU/SSD) is somehow equivalent to PS5's?
There's clearly something wrong, we all know how PS5 runs PS4 Pro Enhanced titles and by this, outside the 1080p60fps mode
it's essentially downgrade how the game performed previously.
I'm surprised DF didn't clock on to this.
A top tier dev like Ubisoft would never totally fuck up a next-gen patch. Oh wait. There's clearly something wrong, we all know how PS5 runs PS4 Pro Enhanced titles and by this, outside the 1080p60fps mode

Nah man, don't use common sense, it means Series X will be back on top soon. Revenge is here, bless Phil Spencer and the tools.
PS5 inferior to PS4 Pro confirmed.
Is PS5 running in back compat mode?
You ok?
Yes, and you, are you ok ?
This thread makes zero sense. You don't compare platform performance using BC on previous gen games, where some settings don't even match last gen version.
What is the point ?
Not trolling.Trolling?
Ubi can't do much more because of the limitations of the bc mode. Only with a native port they could get more out of the hardware.
Those bc games would be much better if Sony would just add an additional profile for developers to use in bc mode. A profile where they could at least use all resources.
MS has no problem with such artificial limitations. Their SDK is not optimal (far from it) but they make it quite easy to just add another profile ... well Like developers know it from pc. In case of BC titles this is a great addition.
Especially for games like those service titles, which tend to be played for years by many people. A native port is doable but much more timeintensiv for developers.
its the same game on both platforms so why not test where the best place to play it is? why do we test next gen games? to find the best place to play it
Is Ubi using Velocity Architecture features on the Xbox side while just relying on unoptimized performance on the PS5?
Usual BC treatment. Nothing unexpected here.
People are still counting BC games as wins? State of these people.
It's what they're saying. I'm not ignoring the post which are clearly visible.that's how you are looking at it, I am looking at BC game been patched. it runs better on the X that the PS5 that's it
Wow, that desperate for an Xbox win huh? The consoles have been out for 3 months now and you still don't understand that Xbox's BC is vastly superior to the PS5's? And that in the context of next gen performance these comparisons mean twice as much as nothing all?Sony still waiting on those backcompat tools
edit: So when Sony "wins" its because the machine is magical and punching above its weight but when Xbox "wins" its because the developer sucks or backcompat sucks or some other excuse?
EmbarrassingSony still waiting on those backcompat tools

Are the developers the issue here? Do they just not care to try and optimize for next gen consoles?Series S is the winner here. Terrible performance for PS5 and Series X for an old ass game with no enhanced visuals over the last gen port.

If you don't know how BC works by now, then there really is no point trying inform you.
Wrong again
2.15 talks out higher LOD settings on Xbox
4.20 talks about higher graphical settings like NPC and car density.
No, it runs better on PS5 at the same res, like mostly any non BC game actually. I mean in performance mode obviously. PS4 version running on PS5 only has performance mode right now.

30 % more fps here, that's not close at all :
They can uncap the framerate even using PRO BC settings. It's the only thing they can do actually like in Cyberpunk, Days Gone or God of War.The PS4 Pro version has a 60 FPS mode?
When he says the same about Dirt 5 you don't care though, colour me confused.......
NXgamer noticed this too. The devs increased the visuals and graphics on SeriesX and affected the FPS slightly. PS5 did not receive the upgrade. You can see the extra details in the same screenshot. Look closely at the pillar, and roof, and the draw distance and lighting, better now on the Series. These extra details are missing from the PS5 version. PS5 version looks flat in comparision.
If that's the question, then the answer is BC is mostly done better on Series X, so Series X is the answer every time on older games, no need to make a new thread every time.
But that's not what people did here, they used it as a benchmark for platform comparison, which is obviously laughable.

PS5 inferior to PS4 Pro confirmed.
You're right, it makes zero sense, which is why this thread is so dumb.
Could be because SeriesX has the higher resolution?
The devs increased the visuals and graphics on SeriesX and affected the FPS slightly.
Slightly? LOL. PS5 has pretty decent frame-rate advantage across whole analysis. That's not slightly. Why twisting, though.
Cyberpunk on the Series seems to have got a boost up with the graphics and lighting, while the PS5 remains the same. It very noticeable in that screenshot.
So ps4 pro at 1440p/30, but PS5 at 1080p/60.
Riiiiiight...
That scene, as NX Gamer pointed out. But also, they are very similar graphically across the board in performance mode as also analysis is providing that. PS5 retaining 1200p on average, while XSX is 1080p on average, alongside with higher fps on PS5
According to NXgamer here, Series, has more cars, more people, more characters, and better graphics, including geometric affects. The PS5 not as taxed as the Series X with the engine. The series is better version for experience. Performance wise PS5 doing better with the FPS because that version had less stuff in the game.

The game was pretty awesome once Ubi implemented AI teammates. It was borderline unplayable before then as most missions feel like you need a team to complete.Yeah. looks like MS's sleeper agent at Ubisoft has been activated and is bringing in those PS5 nerfs.
srsly. though this game has a 56 meta and I remember it getting panned at launch.. Probably not worth getting on any console
I just stole this from a reddit thread
DF notes:
- PS5: dynamic 1188p, unlocked 60 FPS
- PS4 Pro: dynamic 972-1188p, capped 30 FPS
- Base PS4: 720-900p, 15-30 FPS "w/ big hiccups" [other article]
- XsX Quality: dynamic 1512-1722p, up to 1800p, capped 30 FPS capped (+AO)
- XsX Performance: (usually) locked 1080p, unlocked 60 FPS
- XsS: <1080p-1296p, unlocked 30 FPS (+AO)
- XoS: 810p
- not yet optimized for next gen (PS5/XsX/XsS enhanced version due in 2021). All consoles generally appear blurry, from aggressive TAA and low resolution, exacerbated by chromatic aberration and film grain setting.
- PS5 basically runs the PS4Pro version of the game, but faster FPS. This means you can see lighting draw in, and have less dense city details than XsX/XsS. 1188p is 55% pixel count of a 4K image. Not using RDNA2 feature set. No PS5 quality mode (yet).
- PS5 fewer slowdowns than XsX, but XsX provides denser city w/more NPCs+vehicles.
- PS5 best frame rates w/nearly locked 60 FPS, some dips into 50's in city. Feels buttery smooth, better than other consoles. Brute forces away technical problems.
- XsX has best graphical quality in Quality mode. Visuals are cleaner from better reflections, texture filtering, volumetric fog, ambient occlusion, etc. DF prefers the stability of this mode, even with the reduced FPS.
- XsX performance mode dips into 50s and does not hold 60 FPS as often than PS5. But XsX is running a denser more detailed version of the city. Not apples-to-apples comparison.
- XsS runs tweaked X quality mode with city density benefits of XsX (surprising), but at a lower FPS. Has moments of dips and seizing up. Potential IO issue?
- "If you want 60 FPS, go with PS5 version. If you are okay with 30 FPS and want improved visuals, go with XsX Quality mode."
This is based on DF's analysis. Sounds like the game in BC runs higher settings on Series X, and PS5 has smoothest framerate option on consoles right now
The plot thickens. It must be a CPU limitation (decompression).Nope, it's still Durango XDK and runs fine from an external.
They have very likely the same GPU power here, PS5 has the much faster CPU.So ps4 pro at 1440p/30, but PS5 at 1080p/60.
Riiiiiight...
