Interesting conjecture. Looks like weapons are going to get a second substat, affixes, and be native/limit broken to 6* eventually.
Wow, I hope they will increase prototype drop rates drastically or we will never get any worthy weapons. I can't get any Klee talent items from Wolf for weeks and don't get me started on prototypes...

For us always. Just like giving waifu skins.
Eh, I can live with that. Especially considering how puritan MiHo is. But making wish obtained weapons RNG... woof, I can't see any good coming from it considering that most of us roll only on select few banners every couple of months. We will see, I'm not optimistic, but let's wait and see before jumping to conclusions. I bet there will be a giant uproar if it's all true.

More interesting stuff. Looks like they are dumping around $200 Million per year developing and running the game. Lots of good signs for the future like them giving the middle finger to Tencent too. They also want to make something even more ambitious from the sounds of it by 2030. Not sure how I feel about that but if it's good, why not.

If RNG weapons are true then we also getting a finger xD

I'm glad that they're doing ok because for now I'm playing their free game, but content is kinda drying up and I don't see any meaningful changes or upgrades. Maybe Inazuma will bring some big changes, I don't know. But look at fucking blizzard. All the money in the world and yet they botched Heroes of the Storm and couldn't properly support Overwatch which is dead to me except for the events.

Anyone else think Hu Tao might end up being a really OP character? She's Pyro, which is arguably the most powerful element, she can heal herself, and she's kind of the anti-Xiao. She still has an "I'm going to take damage and then do a ton of damage in return" state that she can put herself into, but it's her skill, and her burst does even more damage and heals her.

With Xiao, you're kind of stuck waiting to get your burst again to go into full attack mode. With Hu Tao, it's just a skill cooldown away. Plus, her dash attack looks like it has no start up animation, and seems like it can be repeated instantly, as long as you have the stamina. That could be really fun.

Due to power creep, I think she also pretty much needs to at least be better than the other five star pyro characters, and they're some of the best DPS characters in the game. My only real worry is that you'll HAVE to have her five star spear in order to mach or exceed the other five stars. If that happens, or she has to have very low HP before she can match the best DPS characters, then I'll probably pass.

Yeah, she can be a sleeper hit (meta wise) or she can be a disaster to new/casual players who will pull her just for the looks and end up with a semi-functional weirdo who "hit like a wet noodle" and constantly on the verge of dying ;D

Thanks !

They translation is more of a summary - I recommend running it through translate if you're interested in this stuff.

  • 2020 employees 2400, increased by 1000 since 2019. 700 people on genshin impact. Not much outsourcing at all.
  • The invester only got a small share holding (I'm actually suprised by this - I assumed they must have had some bigmoney backers)
  • Tencent offered to buy the company in 2020 (good offer, rejected)
  • There's more about what the three founders actually do - Liu Wei (eg Strange Hillichurl Wei) seems to be mostly front facing as well as hiring/management. Cai Haoyu (蔡浩宇) does tech/art/direction ; Luo Yuhao (罗宇皓) seems to be business side, also gameplay
  • They had something in development in 2017, but got cancelled - I think it was because "it was better, but not better enough" though not sure if that is what it was saying

CAPCOM got revenue of ~$900 million last year (2019) - so that's a lot .. (KONAMI does way more now since they went mobile)

They also want to make something even more ambitious from the sounds of it by 2030. Not sure how I feel about that but if it's good, why not.
Probably unrelated but I think Honkai Impact 4 : Universe Galaxy (or similar) got trademarked not long ago.

Yeah. There's nothing to do at endgame, and it's not even a resin problem, because even with resin farming for artifacts is boring and soul crushing (that's why they even have condensed resin to cut domain runs in half - because they know it sucks ass). But don't rely on Inazuma, it's still quite far away.

Dunno about the weapon stuff - but the bosses in Liyue/Mondstadt give all the elemental materials needed..

So what bosses in Inazuma ? .. my guess is new weapon enhancement stuff .. possibly we'll be farming for "gems" to put in weapon slots -that might add the second 'primary'. Just a guess.

The weapon situation is semi-bad and I think the game needs better weapons - half of them are "increase X by N% for 1Y seconds, Z cooldown, M stacks", - it just isn't exciting, and often just don't make a difference. There's way more than could be done with weapon secondary effects. Even the 4* craft ones are super tedious and dull mostly.

tinfoil - my theory half the weapons suck right now is good stuff is being held back for 2.0 / Inazuma.

From what I've seen of the new weapon banner, pretty much everyone is getting SEVERAL Wolf's Gravestones before they're able to get the new Staff of Homa weapon. It's very doubtful that there's a 50/50 chance of getting either. Expect to hear a lot of ranting about this from the community. Don't make the same mistake so many others are making and end up with seven great swords that will almost certainly be made obsolete with the next batch of power creep weapons.

I guess I'm not buying into the hype yet, but those animations don't seem special outside of the idle ones. Kinda a mix between Xiao and Xiangling. Looks like she plays similar to Childe though, activating her fire imbue mode etc.

Still going to wait and see on Hu Tao. Unless Rosaria is on her banner, in which case I'm all in.
Hu Tao looks slow and boring as fuck. Plus her base atk is so low they will want you to play a low HP playstyle to do decent damage. And be very reliant on Pyro damage. Easy pass.

If you don't have decently leveled characters with good artifacts and weapons then going past AR 45 would be a real bad idea. No matter what anyone says the enemies become damage sponge in WL6 and 7 if you are not prepared.

Amazing how bad The Bell is. Had to lie down after pulling this considering it's equivalent to a 4* character

I'm confused. The Bell is a 4* weapon.

Thats why I never understand people giving bad tips about leveling up their AR.

Last time I follow someone recommendation about level up my AR I got really problem doing commission because world monster get very strong while my build never follow up. Sometimes the AR block your char to ascend even when you already lvl up AR.

At this point I believe both are trolls or Genshin Impact haters. I remember as well someone saying the CD book weapon 'was shit for Sucrose', when in fact is one of her best weapon even for a 4 star weapon.

Oof I have a R5 Flute myself. It's aight. I have a Rust on my Fisch and it's pretty beastly.

Regarding the AR 45 uncap discussion - I think the cap/uncap camps are both valid. It's a PvE game and I don't feel there's any "right" way to do things as most of your choices just pan out to "if I do this thing, it will just cause a wait/delay to do these other things." Nobody is affected but you since the one-off co-op content isn't terribly balanced anyway, nor is it cutting edge white-knuckle raid content where min/max is king, like in MMOs. I also think this game hits huge diminishing returns once you start trying to min/max, as it's incredibly boring content and there's little reason to do it. I enjoy picking something new to do every day after commish. I might grab talent books/artifacts, or do a mix of things. I have like 12 characters 80. I personally haven't uncapped yet, but my personal meta has been gathering enough resources to immediately push my main comp to 90, whenever I feel like it. I'm sort of waiting for some better reason to do it, or perhaps an adjustment on Miho's end to make it worth it. Until then I'm fine doing my daily farming and stashing of mats. I'm also on PS4 and the game runs like dog shit. I want to get a PS5 so I can enjoy the game with better specs down the road, but it's been impossible trying to find one right now.

That's why you stay at AR45. Sacrificial Tome is really good for Sucrose. Especially once you get her C4. Constant CD reductions every 7 attacks along with a chance to proc an extra Q and she can have two Q-s ready to go after C1 or C2.

You gotta ignore people giving bad advice and ignore the garbage influencers and streamers telling you to do things one way when they are doing things another way.

i usually lv up a character to lv 70 to test them in open world, it makes no sense to go to AR 50 because i would need lv up my characters to lv 80, that is around 400 resin, i don't use the test event to test my characters because they are using whale weapons now since xiao.

And some of the test characters use constellations too. Test run for Childe was C3. Other characters had none so test run isn't very good for being honest in what a character can do out of the gate.

Only characters I can really appreciate is Jean for all purpose kit out of the gate, Sucrose for that sweet AoE, Noelle for being an amazing solo unit(6* unit at C6) and Ganyu for being EZ exploration mode with her overtuned damage.

$200 million a year on the game is way too much, the content so far sure isn't showing that.

If it has cost them to make the complete game for 100 million, someone really believes that they are spending 200 million annually, that is doubling the content, which is not happening right now.

What kind of level should I have to go beyond AR25 ?

I've got lvl 40 heroes (more or less + lvl 40 4* weapons)
The move from 25 shouldn't be that intimidating. It's going past 35 that you should think about for a little bit, and 45 where you should currently just stay. The same is true for leveling characters. You can level anyone to 40 without much concern, but 60 and onward should be reserved for the characters you like the most. Which character are you using for a main DPS?

mini-spoiler - you probably fail the acension quest if you're not strong enough .. that said there's usually a big OOF anyway afterwards in terms of enemy health/damage

Afterwards enemies will be lvl50/51 tops (AR30), but if you had extra experience points, you might jump straight to AR35 (up to lvl 60 enemies) - there's a list here https://genshin-impact.fandom.com/wiki/Adventure_Rank (it not really spoilery)

Enemies 10 levels higher is manageable, above that not fun

The only advice I'd give is not to spend every last XP book and item just to pass the quest, because you will want some (a lot) for afterwards

Before going to next ascencion, aways ask yourself:
-Do I have the character level up itens to up my mains?
-Do I have itens to level up my main characters weapons?
-Do you have enought mora to sustain leveling everything

If everything is good, then its good to go. You can also just go straight if want more "challenge". Just note that some WR ascencions do not leave your character ready to ascend. It requires another WR level up.

As long as one has been playing normally collecting chests/items/materials, doing quests/side quests/daily commissions and not unnecessarily leveling up all characters then they should not be having any issues with exp/asc mats or mora until they hit AR40.

Eh, even 50 is easily achievable if you're doing your daily missions and hoard XP books.
