In a recent interview with GameInformer, Josef Fares said that video games are not always about fun. “Some parts of gaming are fun, but I would say that more, depending on the scene, it should be engaging”.

According to Fares, every situation in a narrative game has to reflect of what is happening in the game. “So, if the character needs something, it should reflect the gameplay as well. I think in narrative games especially, repetitiveness is super dangerous.”

Lastly, Fares said that he would give 1000$ to everyone who gets tired of the game.
It’s a bet that Fares is, characteristically, extremely confident in:

“That’s another thing that I can guarantee you with It Takes Two: It’s impossible, and quote me on this, to get tired of this game.
You can put this as the headline. I can literally give 1,000 bucks to anyone who says, ‘Oh, I’m tired of this game now because it doesn’t surprise me.’ One thousand bucks! I guarantee.
I’ll give it to everyone who gets tired. But they have to be honest about it.”

This makes Fares sound extremely optimistic regarding the quality of the game. Hopefully, the game will meet the expectations of the players, and Fares won’t go bankrupt.
It Takes Two will be released on March 26th, and it will be available for purchase on Steam and Origin.

To be fair I watched the trailer and rolled my eyes twice. He cut me a check for 2 large immediately.

voted poster of the decade by bots
Seems like a foolish thing to say, the class action lawsuit that demands he pay the $1000 will have like 300,000 people sign up...

When it comes to PR, this guy basically went to the same school as Itagaki.

We've yet to see his best; maybe one day he'll bless us with an NGB-tier masterpiece.

Can I beat it and get bored on the replay?

He didn’t really say.

I liked A Way Out, but I could get bored for 1000.00

Or is this like the if you can find a PS3 on the shelf I will give you 500.00 and he didn’t pay anyone?

Pretty sure he still owes 20,000 to a few people.

This headline surely is interesting enough to lead me to the trailer. Game actually look like alot of fun. I might get the game... Not for the $1000.

It actually does look like fun, forced coop is strange but he did it on his last game too and it worked.

Oh it's forced co op? Online or offline only?

Edit: It's both apparently. For a game like this, I don't mind it actually.

That strikes me as a profoundly stupid thing to say.
Considering how whiny the average gamer is out there it's madness to put out that bait $1000 is not peanuts to a lot of people. lol you know some fucker is gonna try it on within hours of the game coming out, better be stacked with amazing content or it's gonna bite them on the ass. No way they will pay out they will weasel out of it but they will end up getting bad press if they do.

I can't be the only person who finds this blowhard eye-rollingly obnoxious can I? I hate that this dipshits quotes are regularly making "headlines"...

I’m sure anybody that’s a reasonable person doesn’t actually believe he’s being serious
