I'll add something to what other people said.
He's not... bad, especially when you're starting, I actually really like anemo MC kit (geo can go fuck itself), but I strongly advise against investing too much in him/her/zhir. Nobody build a team around the main character. Nobody. And you'll need resources for your other gacha characters.
Same goes for all free characters.
But in any case, if you like a character for some reason, just ignore the power levels and play/invest on them. The game is mostly approachable by any character - just don't go over AR 45.

Don't believe other people lies. They're trying to not hurt your n00b feelings, but trust me, bitter truth is better than sweet lies. Don't bother with starting characters and don't waste resources on them beyond lvl 50(you will get free wishes from leveling them). Unlock MC constellations and use him/her for puzzles and nothing else.

Also:

• don't level up 3☆ weapons (it's all trash)
• don't waste rainbow wishes on Keqing banner, she can be obtained from the blue wishes banner
• don't buy blue wishes with gems
• Next limited banner will have Hu Tao, read about her before pulling her. I personally wouldn't recommend her to anyone, especially to the new players, but that's just my opinion.

AR means Adventure Rank. Yeah, 45 is enought for basically everything and monsters drops there are suitable. I see no reason for pushing to ascencion quest. Ascending increases your World Rank, meaning harder monsters but better drops.

As for weapons, level 3 are usually low quality weapons, with some exceptions.
If you don't have anything, use those 3 weapons until you get 4 or 5 star weapons from banners or make 4 star weapons from the blacksmith, using prototypes.

So Keqing seems fine in the open world. Confirmed what I though that she's my favorite sword user in terms of feels .. is she faster or just feels faster (actually not sure if her base attack is really the same as Kaeya's 4 hit then dash through) .. but anyway.

Disappointed that I can't get the electric dart to stun Ruin Guards (maybe 1 in 50 lucky hit), and it needs a little more range for traversal. I seems to be high enough to get archers on towers, but not a total archer replacement. I need to level her more to see how strong she is though.

Chests don't respawn.
You're getting lots of trash equipment right now, but you'll get much, much less going forward.

Ore never runs out. I've got thousands of tons of weapon enhancement crystals.. Chests don't reappear afaik

Yep. And you will never get anything worthy from it. Even enemies respawning only once in 24 hours. You are using them to farm resources, not to level up your heroes. Don't waste your time hunting chests, daily comissions is all you need to progress.


Wanna know the right way to play Genshin? Do story quests and daily comissions, complete battle pass and hoard gems for rainbow wishes while you wait for the limited character you want to appear. That's basically it.

Sure, go for it! World is big and beautiful, but it's not the main source of resources(no weapons, no gold, no gems, no characters, no exp). Explore, but don't expect to make any progress through the exploration. Just make yourself a favor and never skip on daily missions and limited events. That's all you should worry about.

Just ignore respawn/ don't respawn debate. It's all useless anyway, all the progress is gated behind the daily missions/events/battle pass.

I don't wanna rush you, but there's no guarantee that you will be playing GI next year, so I would recommend you to get to the second city asap just to see the lantern festival/Chinese new year celebration.

based on the most popular chinese tier list diona is only one rank behind venti support, diona is a battery even better with ganyu because you get more energy if you take your own type of elemental energy.

Diona is awful as an on field DPS character, sounds like vampire nun is gonna be just as awful .

Also, I do battle pass and welkin. I play daily and can justify getting them. I think they enhance my enjoyment of the game a bit and support it. I'm almost to BP level 30 and torn on getting the Serpent Spine for Diluc. I have Zhongli in my main comp to keep him pretty shielded to avoid the buff knockoff, so it could theoretically be a good sword for him. Thoughts?

Spine isn't bad, but if you want Klee, that orb is one of her better non 5* options, so you should pick up at least one of those (unless you have something better obviously).

nah, there are alot secondary and main quests about ghosts also the abyss mage looks like a ghost with a robbery mask trying to rob a bank.
