Mass Effect Legendary Edition vs Original Early Graphics Comparison

The changes are more striking than I was expecting. I figured they cherry picked some of their best shots for the reveal, but the more I see the more I am impressed and hopeful.

Just looks like a high Res pc version, nothing of substance was added or improved.
Very lazy effort by EA.

Maybe.

But honestly, I gladly pay 60 bucks for all 3 games and all dlc for my ps5.

4k\60 is also great.

Last time I played mass effect was back on ps3. I wanted to revisit it for a long time, but always hesitant because of maybe a remaster.

Finally I can replay it.

Looks great.

Still. Haven’t been able to find if holstering is back in ME3. Would be ridiculous if not honestly.

Allright, so we finally know how Mass Effect Legendary Edition looks. Time to confront this with original trilogy.
Enjoy this Early Mass Effect Legendary Edition vs Original Graphics Comparison.

I hate to say this - but I think it's a weird reversal considering the other remastered changes so I can't help myself:

...based on this trailer's stillshot, does anyone else think EDI's breasts are now larger in the Legendary edition or are they just weirdly saggy like bags of sand?

It's a shame. ME1 really needs some work. Not just to the visuals, but also the gameplay. Game is rough regardless it's 4k and at 60fps.

In the video thumbnail her armor looks way less detailed and the lighting is worse lol.
Looks way more flat and generic in the new.
Ya, some of the changes don't look that great. It looks like there was a grey filter put over most of the backgrounds. The sky is less blue and space less black. All the lights and stars seem dull.

They specifically said they overhauled ME1's combat, UI and inventory management to make it closer to ME2 and ME3.

do you know how they adjusted the combat? 1 and 2/3 felt so different (the latter being much better) but 1 had its own unique feelings. i remember them saying they weren't going to change gameplay--what about 1's combat are they changing? were they specific?

Anybody have a comparison with the meutim mod for 1?
This is what I would like to see. That mod does wonders for ME1 and the other two games. Typically, these types of remasters are just the PC versions. I think ME1 will see the greatest changes and the other two may be hard to tell much of a difference from the PC versions.

Guns are still based on the overheat system.
Class based weapon restrictions are gone.
Aim penalties for untrained weapons are gone.
Different classes still receive specific weapons training.
Melee will be a dedicated button instead of automatic.
Controls will be more similar to ME2
AI has been improved for both squad and enemies
Camera angle has been adapted to be more like ME2
More consistent auto-save
Mako controls and handling have been improved

awesome ty for that compilation of changes. all of those look really good without taking away from the first game too much.

I think this looks really good, though they sure showed a lot of the cutscenes. I'm about ready for another playthrough, so hopefully its not too buggy!
Too buggy? It should be even more refined than when they first came out, and the difference should be night and day compared to Andromeda

Yeah, a friend let me play Mass Effect on his console once and it was like the worst game I ever played. Combat was choppy, dialog was the same no matter what option you picked and the weird alien villain Sargon turned out to be controlled by a ship. A ship! 🤣

Dragon Age is the better BioWare property in my opinion

Looking forward to spend 200 hours of my life with the same thing I already did 15 years ago - now in an ever higher resolution. 😐

Oh I agree with you, but I'm still smarting from the Mafia remaster games that continue to be buggy as shit, and yes I know that's a different publisher. I'm hoping these have been given the time to be fully remastered and also have been well tested. So far the video and screenshots look great!

awesome they are taking some of the common assets from ME3 like the clothing liara is wearing back into ME1 and 2 where it makes sense, making the overall package more consistent in quality. I cant wait to play this again..for like the 6th time.

Enjoy this comparison of the Mass Effect remaster to the 2007 original game.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition brings a whole lot of improvements to the original Mass Effect, especially in the graphics department. Nearly 14 years have passed since the game's release on the Xbox 360, and that means a whole lot of technical advancement has been applied to the game. With that in mind, we're taking a look at Mass Effect Legendary Edition and the original Mass Effect's PC release to see just how much the new remaster has improved on the original.

The video above lets you check out both versions of Mass Effect, sticking to the early portions of the game. We've got some direct comparisons of Mass Effect characters to show how lighting and textures have been improved. The comparison also extends to Eden Prime, the game's first combat mission, and the Citadel, where you'll spend some time talking with humans and aliens and advancing the story.

While Mass Effect has seen a lot of technological improvements in the Legendary Edition, it's important to note that the story remains the same. You'll be playing through a smoother, better-looking version of the 2007 sci-fi RPG classic, but for all intents and purposes, this is the same game. As Jordan Ramée noted in his review in progress, the Legendary Edition brings an enhanced version of the original game that's a lot easier to play and looks a lot better, but it's not without its visual and gameplay quirks.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition is here! For this Graphics Comparison, we take a look at the original intro on Xbox 360 next to the Xbox Series X version. There have been a lot of changes to the Legendary Edition of the game including an improved female Shepard character model for the first game, enhanced textures, reflections, framerate and more.
