Starship Troopers - Terran Command is a thrilling real-time strategy game set in the Starship Troopers movies universe. Take command of the Mobile Infantry and do your part in the war against the Arachnid threat. Build, develop and control your armies to strike an effective balance between tactical superiority and strength in numbers. Ensure that human civilization, not insect, dominates the galaxy now and always!

Story Campaign

The population of the harsh desert planet Kwalasha needs our help. Their daily lives of hard work in the mining industries has been disturbed by a new danger that they cannot face alone: the Arachnid. The Mobile Infantry will swiftly move in, take back control over the planet and smash everything that has more than two legs. Take part of this exciting military campaign, meet unique characters, see amazing locations and experience the heroic war against the Bug - all presented live on FED NET!

Tactics & Numbers

While the Arachnids can rely on virtually limitless numbers, the Mobile Infantry must develop effective tactics to overcome this imbalance. Deploy your units at strategic locations to cover vital choke points and gain superior firepower through tactical use of elevation levels. Be wary, however, that battle mechanics such as True Line of Sight and True Line of Fire also allow Bugs to lay ambushes around every corner, as they are well known for their use of surprise attacks and deception.

Units & Abilities

An expansive range of unique units, weapons, and special abilities are at the disposal of M.I. commanders. Infantry squads armed with Morita Assault Rifles and MX-90 Fragmentation Grenades form the mainstay of your forces. Rocket Troopers deliver deadly payloads with pin-point accuracy while Engineers are vital to shore up defensive positions with MG turrets, barricades, and minefields. As a campaign progresses, technological breakthroughs unlock the true potential of the Federation’s arsenal with E-Pulse rifles, TAC Fighter airstrikes, heavily armed Marauder mechs, and many more developments optimized for spraying Bug ichor across the battlefield.

Key features

- An immersive storyline campaign featuring unique missions, characters and a lot of Starship Troopers flavor
- Dozens of unique unit types, each with their own special abilities.
- Terrain elevation, True Line of Sight & True Line of Fire provide deep tactical gameplay.
- Manage a fleet of dropships, expand your base infrastructure and capture strategic positions to strengthen your forces and unlock new weaponry
- Heroics, explosions, gore, and Bugs. Lots of Bugs.

Honestly it looks a bit rough, but il give it a crack, who knows could be fun and mechanically sounds even if the drop ships come down like there on a invisible elevator rather than thrusters.

Love the movie.
I remember there was an old RTS game on PC that I couldn't play at the time. I was looking again and again the magazine review xD
This makes me quite nostalgic and want to give this a try even so I avoid PC gaming.

Holy shit dude, that actually doesn't look half bad! Definitely putting this on my wishlist.

Needs more gore though, lol.

lol tight

licensed games hold a special place in my heart, as do RTS, and the Starship Troopers IP

Doubt I'll play this though; still cool

Ever since I saw the movie in the theater with my friends we all desired a gaming moment like that big base standoff, I think the only thing that ever delivered was a starcraft custom map..
it's actually sad that we never got a good SST game.

From this glimpse it seems like good use of a license. That voice lasted 10 sec before getting on my nerves though..

Btw, I remember having a crush on that what's her name girl in the movie..

Is this going to have any of the satire of the original movie? The awfully voiced trailer seems like they missed the entire point of the movie.
I can't imagine it will, or at least that it'll nail it. Nobody really has that Edward Neumeier / Paul Verhoeven touch of biting satire that is almost indistinguishable from being an ultimate embracement of what it parodies, and feels too fun/dumb to be thunk about smartly but it is.

This trailer seems to be cut as "Federation Propaganda", as in it's an easy display of a "by-the-book" conflict showing all aspects of a campaign going exactly according to military plan, where the Federation has things fully under control as it methodically, patriotically wipes out the enemy. Maybe the game will take on a more complex tone when situations starts to go bad...

So, maybe, but I have doubts of this game capturing anything but the basic mechanics of the franchise. Maybe the cold military strategy of the book is fine for an overhead, chessboard-type strategy challenge (it was enough to make StarCraft compelling for the past 23 years...) but when I think of Starship Troopers, I think of being a solder in the shit, underpowered on strange soil, staring up at a moving hillside of bugs swarming mindlessly to disembowel and liquify everybody I know on this planet, and so I cock my weapon and get ready...

I feel like this was the last movie of the action movies golden era. Mid 80s to mid 90s just brought the heat in a way that hasn't been replicated.

This was my kind of schlock.

A Star ship troopers RTS seems cool. It makes sense because Troopers are cogs in the war machine. Hopefully you can call down space bombardments and more.

Apparently this is releasing later today! Any hype for this?

I found some gameplay, looks pretty neat. It is amazingly faithful to the movie at least, in terms of aesthetics:

I fucking love Starship Troopers, especially in Starcraft 1. Anyone know if you can co-op or is this just single player?

Isn't it a bit strange to make a game about the movies? I mean, unless they keep the satire up you're not playing the good guys.
