My keyboard was $15
so ?! And mine was 115$. Who won ?
ofcourse you can buy cheap shitty keyboard or find one on a dumpster... that's not the topic here...

I stand by my point - PC is extremely expensive nowadays. It always was way more expensive than consoles. Now it's out of the question though. stupid 5600xt costs as much as ps5 now. I know it's abnormal but my buddy just build a pc and it was 3k usd... 1k for 3080 alone.
1050ti is 300usd now. What is even happening.
Thank god I've got my 3080 for 700 when it came out... My pc was upgraded in last year and older prices. Mostly msrp or lower prices on every part I have... and it's still like 2,5k summarized.... sure it's "high end" but still... I don't have AIO, lowest tier x570 motherboard, 3700x and not higher end intels or ryzen 9.... 16gb of ram and not 32. nvme 3.0 because 4.0 was way too expensive... I've made sacrifices building this pc and it's still damn expensive. I could have ... FIVE PS FIVES (lol)
Usually You could build a good pc for 1-1,5k.
There is no competition. Console is cheaper and just flat out better for gaming. Unless You need 144hz and vr. Maybe I realize that because I always had pc and a console. I have pc's sice 1997, have crt and retro builds in the basement. I love the damn PC thing. But You have to love it and know it, in order to know that You also hate it....

Wish these people did 'console equivalent' settings rather than 'Ultra'.
Doesn't matter much, because consoles don't have fixed resolution anyway. It's just an interesting side-by-side that shows how much stronger a 3060 ti (=2080 super) is than the XSX even with that being the lead platform. Which means even a 3060 will be ok for parity, so it gives people an idea of what to aim for as a target if they want a PC for the rest of this new generation basically.

I only game on my gaming pc. You don’t need a thousand dollar gaming pc to “ do other things” And after just buying a good controller , good keyboard and a good mouse, plus windows os it’s self You are already over $200.

Again pc gaming is great but expensive.

First of all, you never put a controller on a PC buy list. Thats the most optional thing ever. Lol at windows license. And i already said that its a difficult task if you wanna make your equivalent pc right then and there when the consoles launch. If you do it a year and a half later when you have new pc parts on the market, you will get similar or better gpu for 250 bucks. Cpu for 150. LEts put another 300 bucks for mobo and the rest. You're gonna be in the ballpark of console spending with a much more versatile machine.

I didn't say PC wasn't more expensive, just that a $200 keyboard is ridiculous. I mean it's a keyboard. What kind of featuers do you need, one that makes popcorn or something?

Exactly. My mecha keyboard was only $50 and if I were in the US it'd be even cheaper, mouse about $35. Both super solid and sturdy. Got an X1 gamepad years ago for like 30 quid when I was abroad. People just love to exaggerate costs. Especially americans should not complain at all, the amount of insane deals on electronics there is unbelievable, but true in some markets like UK & Germany also.

200 is a bit much, ok. But 100 is rather usual sadly
Patience is always the most important thing. Got a really nice keyboard 75% off for like 35$ boxing Day sale.

PC gaming is more expensive then console yes, but always having good performance is more then worth it. I wouldn't play an RTS at 30fps let alone an action adventure like uncharted or tlou. 60fps is ok but still not preferable. PC best advantage is you the user gets to choose what's important to you for graphics. Oh and mods Holy shit the value mods adds is incredible. Mods are worth the extra 1000$ honestly. The amount of content, quality of life changes, graphics. Omg look at some of the GTA 5 mods. Honestly I'd be surprised if GTA 6 on console looks better then GTA 5 with mods on PC.

nah. Many friends of mine game on pc (including me) the only keyboard above 40€ is mine and it was 55€. 100€ is not usual, i'm sorry. But i do agree with you that pc will never compete in price with a console. Further down the line perhaps, but right now is going to be more expensive.

True. By my calculations, 3060 Ti and 3070 are roughly 25-35% faster than XSX/PS5 GPU. Could be more depending on the workload, especially when you factor in RT.

On one side of the ring, Mister Overinflated price. $300 for a case/cpu cooler/fans/cables? $100 windows 10 key? Dafuq?

On the other side of the ring, Mister Getto ass shit pc tier. Would love to see that $387 pc in action against a next gen console.

Why does it always have to be an extreme or the other?

10 series 4/8 intel cpu, 1650 nvidia , 16gb dual channel ram and SSD is getto or a potato?

Imagine being that stupid, it plays every single game under the sun. U can upgrade the way u like it.

U guys have no clue what PC gaming is remotely is. Consoles are straight up terrible choices for budget gaming. always have been. PC is absolute king of budget.

And about keyboards i straight up have 2 computers next towards eachother with screens that probably sit around 4k at this point. my keyboard = 10 buck microsoft keyboard. Paying 200 bucks for a keyboard is just u dropping money at something that u think is worth it. not even remotely needed at all.

This right here is the amount of stupidity needed to believe that's all you need to perform about the same as a PS5. Plus, those specs you just mentioned would cost more than $400 and you don't even have all the hardware needed yet.

Paid multiplayer
Expensive games
Less than 800gb ssd drive
Only limited to single input controller, no built in cross platform peripherals support
Region locks
Can do nothing except gaming and limited streaming through apps often inferior to other platforms
nobody cares dude,if someone want to play games, they dont fucking care, the sooner you realise that, the sooner pc elitists will employ their time playing games instead of doing benchmakrs and bragging about power

So that's a shitty PC compared with a $500 console

I'm PC Master Race, too but anyone acting like consoles are not leagues ahead in value for your money this generation are delusional.

Especially the Xbox Series X.
Nothing comes close to it.
yeah.the ps5 XD

I am not building a PC to mirror the PS5. i am building a PC that plays every single PC game under the sun for a low budget to proof PC's aren't expensive. And that PC is low budget and performs exactly perfectly fine as its a PC i own as streaming PC where i can test stuff out on.

Also the prices i took from a well known PC site here called tweakers i always use in my country to buy my hardware and picked the cheapest parts that where acceptable as it combines all shops. So the prices are totally valid. ( when i made the post, could change obviously over time ).

For example there is no point in buying a 5,5gbps SSD for PC when there is no software that even saturates sata 3 ssd's. U are just pissing money down the drain for absolute no reason. U want a faster CPU? no problem 10k cpu board supports 11k cpu's that will come out. Wnat a faster gpu? well nobody is stopping you. drop 25 bucks more and get a 1650 super or another 25 bucks more u get a 1660. want to spend even more? get a 3060, want more? get a 3070 etc etc.

Can't believe people still compare cost of an entire PC to something that can only play games. Less than 1% of my time on the PC is spent playing games. It's GPU vs console, simple as that.

Well for PC you have

-obsessing with max settings and jacking off to FPS counts instead of just playing the game
I do play games primarily on PC, and I won't deny that I don't do this sometimes.

Sometimes, I just reject 23 base pairs of chromosomes and embrace 26 base pairs.

I'm not always downs with just playing the game.

As I am trying to turn over a new leaf in some ways, I apologize for my terrible attempt at humor in this post. I wish I could have a "premeptive sorry for dumb joke" button for every bad joke I make.

Dont ever listen to pc fanboys when it comes to hardware needs. They all get mostly "60fps" and higher on high settings on their toaster. Reality is 60fps as in stuttering crappy mess.

If you want to play contemporary games on a pc and get a comparable experience to console. The pc needs to be significantly more powerful. There needs to be ample headroom. More so as time goes by.

The therm midrange is different now. A 1000 dollars machine (at official prices) would have been considered a high end PC a few years back. In 2013 they were comparing the PS4 to 500 dollars PCs.

We just have to look at ps4.

Ps4 is a fucking potato. POTATO. Yet it runs most games in a solid stable fashion, even if its somethimes means settings are lower than possible on pc..

Its suppose to be comparable to GTX 750ti.(its actually even lower something like 7050). With total potato cpu.

here is gtx 750ti

This is unplayable.

I have gaming laptop with gtx 1050 ti. Its more powerful than ps4. Yet most games run like dog shit. The overall experience is not comparable to ps4.

In my humble opinion. If you are going to play AAA games on a pc. You need a pc that is much more powerful than the console.
