Resident Evil Village Maiden Demo on PS5 available Jan 21, 2021

Well, I'm not actually saying it looks like ass, it looks ok. I just think it would look a lot better if it was designed specifically with the new gen in mind. RE Engine is impressive, I'm sure they could do a lot better than this.

With have nothing to do with last gen. I find OK as well. RE Engine looks great before next gen started.

The moment we start using the term "only" for $60 games we already lost guys.

Why? Factor in inflation and $60 from 2006 is like $78. $60 is worth less in 2021 than when the price point for games was introduced and yet game development costs are way up (the industry is a lot bigger, too, of course).

Glad I tried the demo to realize I am a scaredy-cat.
If this is the actual gameplay instead of just a tech demo, then this game is just too much for my nerves.
I'm okay with scary game when I have some kind of weapon loadout so I feel I can defend myself. Hate feeling helpless.

This is just pure punishment for my nerves. ;)

Did not feel 60 fps to me, the chandelier room had slowdowns below 30. Some textures looked from last gen some looked crisp.

This act of "great news, guys: we managed to get this next-gen game to run on old conzoles!" is so tacky. It doesn't seem at all taxing. Looking forward to the game, but cut the horse crap.

I can’t play because my 2012 PLASMA is on technical support... seems like the Z board failed and the guys is having a hard time to find circuit replacements for that old model.

It is already 3 days.

I’m already starting to put in my head I will need to buy a new TV.
Playing with a PS5 on a 2012 plasma?

Buy a 4k tv asap, dude

PS: sei que vc é brasileiro, Samsung 4k valem a pena demais

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.
I'm not getting the RE4 vibes from the Demo people are talking about
Seemed very REmake, RE0 to me visually
Apart from that it wasn't reminiscent of anything

The Fucking MAN.
Got it, played it, dug it tons.

It's got some great gruesome art in there, some cool environmental story telling (the vampire ladies make wine made from virgin blood and sell it...I've not seen that take on vampires before), looks really good visually.

Not sure what people are expecting but it feels like a solid, creepy, fun little demo. Obviously it doesn't play like an RE game- plays more like GONE HOME meets horror or AMNESIA or something. But I dug it!

Am I the only dumbass who can’t finish this?

I escaped the dungeon and found the necklace, been slow walking around the mansion for 20 mins. walking into locked doors. Wtf do I do?

The wood texture is just done SO well in this game..
Really sold on the big ass mansion look. (not a fan of res7 crackhouse)
And it has to be one of the most impressive HDR games i played. Some rooms look spooky as hell.
This game looks sick on an oled! Great demo for deep darks

Scary as fuck this game >.<

It's a 7 year old tv. Of course you need a new one.

Yeah, the textures in some of the areas look last gen as in PS3 levels. It is most notable on the walls that have all that gold trim etc. It looks really bad. I don't think it is 60, but I do know when I played the chandelier area got really bad frame rate wise. Otherwise it looked pretty good..but nothing that blows me away.

Looks great and 60fps baby!

I will probably play it on PC with my RTX 3090 but would have been happy with it on PS5 as well if there were no option for it.

One thing I feel this demo captures and that I really love about the earlier games are the very beautiful, and to me at least, cozy environments. It's the stark contrast of being in an environment other wise safe feeling juxta positioned with scary monsters. I never felt compelled to play RE4 and 5 due to their locations being so one tone brown and ugly and I haven't felt compelled to play RE7 either for the same reason, but they way RE VIII looks and it's vibes from the demo, I will have to for the story at least I guess.

After playing the demo I can say I'm still very interested in the game but not at all pleased with the visuals. Assets are very low res and poor, definitely a last gen game.

Will get it after a price drop, this is no next gen.

I don't get the HDR blue red calibration screen. Isn't center position always the one that makes them equal sized?

If games went with inflation they’d be 101 dollars at this point. 60 is enough.

Doesn't make any sense, but OK. It's obviously not enough.

Still, if you're not picky, you won't have to pay more than $60 ever. Just might have to wait a bit.

It is because the image quality is so good and my plans were to wait 1-2 years to get a more mature TV model.
