No, I haven't said that. I say that to reach the numbers you are getting and comparing them you are assuming that the frame rate is always 41, which it clearly is not. That's basic math.

But yeah, let's keep throwing LOLs and laughing gifs.

And what should we do when one platform refuses to shake 60fps (60-75fps to achieve that) yet another in same locations drops to 40-50fps?

PS5 is more like using a mode that favors performance, and XSX is forcing native 4K that causes drops. You should expect an update later with those modes.

How about starting by not throwing lols first if you wanna be taken seriously? Don't start it then whine about it.

There is more than meets the eye here.I smell some sort of BC implementation from IO interactive or bad optimization, because there is no way a Radeon RX5700XT can push 56fps at 2160P on ULTRA quality on PC and PS5 cannot. It simply ridiculous. Also GTX 1080ti pushes 55 fps at 2160p ULTRA quality (which is proven to perform worse on other crossgen titles such as Borderlands 3 etc). There is definitely something going on with the optimization

[UPDATED]

Nope:

1800p vs 2160 = 44% (total pixel count)
60fps (actually more than 60fps to have solid 60fps all the time) vs 41fps = 46.3%

46.3 - 44 = more than 2.3% advantage for PS5

Another usual win for PS5, but unknown how big exactly because solid 60fps is actually something around 60-80fps.
Sorry, but this comparison is not fair.

Xbox Series X has constant better 4k and high shadows.

PS5 doesn't have constant better FPS. This dip to 40s is 0.1% low.

You know that 56 for the RX5700 is an average, and that it possible to have drops under 50 fps no? It's possible that this GPU couldn't keep the framerate always over 60fps in 1800p resolution, contrary to PS5 which is always over 60 fps. We don't know the average fps...

You can say it like this but not compare GPU performance between two machines by taking only into account a metric that's not absolute.
Trying to be helpful here and stop this discussion. In order to compute numbers to compare both GPUs, you should take the total number of pixels drawn, that's resolution x FPS, during a fixed set of time. Then, with that number you could do what you were doing and that would be a well-done comparison. Notice that to have that you'd need to know how much time the XSX GPU goes below 60FPS and you don't know that. So your comparison doesn't hold any weight and you are comparing numbers which don't make sense to compare.
It's not only you though, everytime a Sony or MS fanboy takes only into account a partial metric to assume absolute values it's doing it wrong.

How about by starting not throwing lols first if you wanna be taken seriously? Don't start it then whine about it.
Well, at least I try to explain what you are doing wrong and why what you do is laughable. You dont.

I was looking others data yesterday... seems a bit weird the PS5 GPU not reaching 4k 60fps and the Shadows not being High.
Shadows Medium vs High on PC didn't show big discrepancies in performance.
Shadows Medium looks to be PS4 Pro profile Settings.

its because many devs pushed for higher resolution on One X version, if One X version was same resolution as PS4 Pro, every game would have this kind of advantage on xbox in performance
Not true, the performance of the system varies games by games basics. There are numbers of games performing well on ps4 pro than One X ( though with one X has slight resolution advantage). Even with increased resolution one X should outperform ps4 pro but that's not the case with every game. Hitman game engine is very well coded for Direct X api but not for Playstation.

Simple question people,

I am still looking forward to getting my ps5 soonish, as soon as the next round of restocking starts.

I wanted to give my brother my ps4 pro, but I of course want to keep my account where all my games are on.
I also have two-step authentication set up on my phone, can i just give him the ps4 without doing anything and he gets to make his own account, or am i meant to reset the console before giving it to him, etc,

I am old and the ps4 is my first console, well if you exclude my master system.

you can give him the console as his and continue to keep your ps5 with your same account. He can go on to create a new account if he wants.

Do you want him to play your games on ps4 too? If yes, you don't have to do anything, tell him to create new user account and he can also access on your ps4 pro. On your ps5, very simpel, just log in with your old account. Download your save files and games, enjoy.

If yes then you don't need to do anything... just create a new account with his PSN account and he will be allowed to play all games you have installed by your account... you needs to login in your account to download others games he wants to play that are in your PSN Account.

Now if you don't want him to share your games then the best is do a full reset and remove your PS4 as primary via PC web.

We do live like 100 miles apart with different phone lines, i thought that would cause an issue with ownership of games.

But if it works like that, then yes i would like him to have access to my games, i did not think that was possible.

Hey guys,

Apparently all of you are in here now brainstorming how to spin the Series X win over the PS5 in Hitman 3 as a positive for PS5.

Is that true?

Someone in the DF Hitman 3 face-off said so...

lol

Given the following gem of a post...

Nope:

1800p vs 2160 = 44% (total pixel count)

...was the guy in the DF face-off thread wrong??? 😂

Hitman3 looks good but still only last gen game. Compare it to PS4Pro Xbox1X, the only improvements I can tell is better textures, shadows, SSR, and 60fps. Can anybody point out anything that is really next gen about this game on the PS5 XSX? Chances are it's the same bloody code from previous gen running on BC mode, would explain these results!

Unsurprisingly the XSX game is 2160p, mostly 60 FPS but drops frames, and on PS5 because its 1800p, its a perfect locked 60. And the XSS is 1080p.

DF even say if the XSX version was dropped down to 1800p, they could get rid of those frame drops. Or they could put the PS5 version up to 4K, but it would likely lose its perfect framerate.
This situation is exactly why I think dynamic resolution should be implemented in every game from now on, native 4k is just a waste of resources when you can have wonderful results with reconstruction/checkerboarding.

The reasonable way is dynamic resolution. But some engines are not supporting yet, like Glacial (Hitman 3 engine).

I'm not arguing about the tools thing, I'm talking about Alex's quote talking about how the compiler improves the code.
Without taking into account the quality of the code itself, for a given code, different compiler versions can give better performant code. That's specially true in GPU code.

Do you know if they were 90%, 95% or 35% finished?
Compilers are pretty advanced at this point in time, what matters the most now is code quality and robustness. If your code is spaghetti code, you’ll have a mess later on that’ll be a nightmare to find your way through if amendments to the code are required later on. Spaghetti code isn’t what you want, organized code that’s grouped into functions and commented well is what’s considered good, robust code and is good practice. The compiler compiles your code. Code quality is what matters, a compiler can’t do anything to improve the performance of your code at all. The quality of the code will determine how efficient and performant your program or solution is. That’s all there is to it.
With regards to tool maturity, one can’t just get lazy and ship unfinished tools to developers. You’d be insane to deploy half finished tools for devs to use. But when you have people claiming that the problem is the “tools”, that argument quickly falls apart since there’s no solid grounds for that assumption to stand on, so it’s safe to just discard the assumption entirely, if that’s really the case. I doubt Microsoft of all companies, would ship half finished tools to developers, this is illogical even for them.

He's talking about the compiler architecture for the gpu, in which the more efficient the architecture of the compiler is, the better and more efficient the graphics code runs. I'm assuming Alex has no clue what he's talking about and I don't say that lightly. Dealer proved his absolute lack of common sense by citing Tom Warren as a credit source of info, that's how low he went and this post he made now further proves that point. Citing Battaglia as a credible source of info when he knows jack about compiler architectures is a new low. But then again, it's Dealer we're talking about, so we're basically talking about an absolute nobody who will stoop far too low to get his nonsensical point across. By the way, he latches onto the bs spread by people like Astal and Misterxmedia and I'm sure that on its own says a lot about him.

Ps4 Pro with better settings than Xbox One X and Xbox Series S.

Of course, specific requirements for this game, running at specific engine optimizations.

In the past we've talked about how image reconstruction techniques and dynamic resolution scaling make the need to deliver 8.3m pixels per frame less of a necessity, and that's definitely the case - especially in the age of temporal anti-aliasing. However, the Glacier Engine concentrates on delivering a pristine presentation that does not rely so heavily on heavy post-processing or temporal accumulation techniques to achieve its goals. Hitman 3 focuses on clean lines and well-defined spaces, where a higher resolution definitely helps. This requires brute force horsepower and that's what the new consoles deliver.

I give as much sh!t about plastic boxes as any sensible and logical person does. That’s zero, if that’s where you’re getting at. I’ve seen enough of dealer and Colt to know what type of “brainlets” I’m talking about. People who preach and latch onto the nonsense people like Astal and MisterXMedia throw around, shouldn’t really be taken seriously. Especially Alex that hung out in the Ps5 misinformation FUDiscord even before the console launched, while knowing next to nothing about the console and its underlying architectural features. A person that hangs around spreading FUD and restating information on a platform he knows nothing about, is not considered a professional in my book. At least, if you’re going to dive deep into the two platforms and what they do, try to at LEAST sound neutral. Alex is no such thing. When I find people like that in either side , I’ll call them out without question and I don’t give a flying middle finger if their feelings are hurt. That’s all there is to it. You can make of all that what you will.

Bro, Hitman 3 is superior on xbox. This is a fact.

Is this a trend? We don't now yet, but probably it is.

So please remain calm and stay in line.

I noticed that it’s superior on the Series X as seen in the deep dive done by Digital Foundry themselves, I didn’t get into that with my original response on tools. My original response, as I’m sure you’ve noticed yourself, was on Alex talking about and bringing the “it’s theTools” and they’ll improve excuse again while making a fool of himself. That’s the original post I focused on taking into account the post made by Alex on Era. It had nothing to do with the digital foundry analysis in which Alex didn’t even partake in.

Like I said in the other thread.

Series S, Xbox One X and PS5 settings/performance makes no sense at all compared with the others.

If PS4 Pro runs it better than Xbox then PS5 should have a easy job running at 4k60fps.
It is proved by the way slower RX 5700 running the game better than PS5 too.

Well at long last there is a game that gives the series x a whopping 41 pct res advantage over ps5! Don't ruin the moment for the xbox loyalist by trying to point out this might be a mistake that could be patched out at some point.

You know highly probably the console version not use all ultra setting but a mix of graphic setting? So basically ps5 needs to runs at 1800p a game which in ultra setting in a gtx 1080ti has an average of 56 fps? Really? I don't understand how many people can't see there is something off about the ps5 version, especially considered if it runs natively in 4k on series X
