Spider-man Miles Morales Reviews |OT| A cat got the spider's tongue!

Rolled credits. Two games in row Insomniac got me with the feels.
Phin is a good villain, not as great as Doc Oct of course but really sold the grief rage because of her bro and abandonment by Miles.

gonna ng+ this with the RT performance mode, cant wait.
fidelity mode literally made me wanna hurl when i switched back from performance mode. really stoked they put the time to sneak some RT into the latter.

I really can't wait to play this game, so glad that it has been getting rave reviews. Hopefully it will sell enough to convince Insomniac to make Spider-Man 2 feature Miles Morales as the main character instead of Peter Parker.

Very possible, been a minute since my play through. For sure wasn’t Shakespeare. Both super fun games despite
That's kind of what I disliked about the game. That and Peter Parker. He's too annoying. But I guess that's just his character. I liked him the most in Ultimate Spider-Man comics where he wasn't so annoying.

So Venom def playable character next game. I feel like they were hinting at that. Would be better than Mary Jane sections haha

Venom and Carnage are the real meat of villianhood in Spider-man for me. We didn't get to see Osborn turn into the Green Goblin in the first one... only hints of the eventual. I think we're going to see the Green Goblin as the main villian in the next game. Maybe Carnage will be the main villian in the third game.

I started playing this a few days ago. Besides Phin I find all of the characters absolutely insufferable.

I can't be the only one. Its really putting me off of the game.

Beat the game just now.

Overall, pretty good, narrative turned out better than I expected, and to be honest also Miles as Spider-Man. There's some really solid co-op potential for the next title. Can't wait to see what they do with it.

Phin is a damn solid vilain overall, and the final battle is damn beautiful not only in terms of combat but also closure. Also the secret mission with the postcards is pretty dope.

Pos-credit scene:

Not only Venom but also Dr. Connors in Spiderman 2? Oh boy! Let's goooo!

Honestly the whole Phin story felt way too close to Doc Ock from the previous game but not as good IMO.

Still not bad, but I was hoping for more. Also the Underground are kinda lame villains

Well I don't follow the comics at all, so I honestly thought they would go
full love route on this. Glad they didn't.

Finally got around to playing this through. As I only got a PS5 this month.

Overall I thought it was solid. Would rate it a 8.5/10. It actually was a lot longer than I expected after reading complaints of it being short. But for me the length was just right. And there is enough side content without out becoming too repetitive like a ubisoft game.

Miles is a likeable and solid main character. Also Troy Bakers performance as a villan is fantastic. Phin however suffers from Mary Sue syndrome. The actress did a good job with the delivery. But conceptually I found this character implausible, and hilariously overpowered for a side character. But I can't complain too hard since this is a comicbook story... But it was the gameplay that kept me interested not the story.

I played through the whole game twice to get the Platinum. First time in Performance RT, and second time in Fidelity. And I have to say, surprisingly I preferred Fidelity for this game!

Performance RT is butter smooth! And it is a technical achievement. But it is clearly much blurrier than Fidelity on a 4K OLED. After playing the whole game in Fidelity a second time it looked noticeably better! And now it is hard to go back to the 60fps mode for me. There is a clear lack of details, much less street life, and missing particle etc. I didn't even realize there was a snow storm at the end of the game until my second playthrough in Fidelity! The blowing snow effect has so much more detail, it really added to the atmosphere for me.

Flipping from 60fps to 30fps certainly is jarring for the first few mins. But somehow my brain adapts, and then it just starts looking normal to me, but with much sharper details.

Strange, because I just came off playing Demon's Souls. And there 60fps mode is far superior. And I noticed no visual improvement strong enough to play in 30fps mode. But Spiderman MM seems to have been designed around the 30fps mode and it shows.

It is specifically the swinging around the city parts that benifits so much from being super crisp and detailed and being able to see for miles in full 4K. In Performance RT mode I believe it tops out at around 1440p. And though it still looks very nice, somehow a could not get over the pure loss of pixels and detail.
