Final Fantasy 7 Remake may coming simultaneously to PC and PS5

Tag, you're it.
According to REEEEEEEE member KatharsisT (who is a well-known leaker) SE plans to announce and release the PC version of Final Fantasy 7 Remake alongside the PS5 version, in 2021.

This falls in line with everything we’ve heard so far about Final Fantasy 7 Remake PC, which is why we’re posting it. In December 2019, Square Enix and Sony hinted at a timed-exclusive deal regarding Final Fantasy VII Remake.
"I just know that SE plan to announce the PS5 version along the PC one this year."

Then, in January 2020, the Final Fantasy 7 Remake demo leaked some PC code. The game’s demo had references to AMD, NVIDIA and higher resolutions. And in April 2020, the official Final Fantasy VII Remake trailer included PC gameplay footage.
This of course came as no surprise. Still, we are kind of wondering whether Square Enix will add support for Ray Tracing and DLSS in the PC version. Final Fantasy XV supported DLSS, so it is a possibility.

FF7R is a different engine than FF15 though, but still possible to add more graphical options I guess. I’ve been playing the PS4 version on my ps5 and haven’t regretted it at all. I guess there’s no chance of people who own the PS4 version getting the ps5 version for free? (or at least discounted)

One of my favorite games from last year, but I don't think I want to run through it again...

I'm dying to play FFVII again. The version for my X1X & XSX is a PS1 port. It's crazy how my mind completely misremembered that version. The game didn't age well graphics wise.

One of the main reasons I got a PS5 is to play the rumored upgraded remake. I've held off from playing the PS4 version.

BRING IT ON!

It aged extremely well. The amount of content, atmosphere, music puts to shame most of the modern games and all classic JRPGs that have come out in the past 15 years.

If they support mods then I'll get it for the pc version again.
One way or another it will support mods, it's UE4. This is why I've held off buying until the PC version finally releases. Depending on how much interest there is (and if they don't kill it with EGS eclusivity), I could see modders and fans actually remaking FF7 with the new models/areas with real ATB and other shit. It could be huge, again, if the interest is there.

I just wish ps5/pc version would get rid of the narrow paths that are the game's loading screens.

I can't wait to see Cloud's apartment door in it's full glory.

I hope for a discount - 10euro would be ideal for me. 20euro and more I'am not sure...still have Hard playthrough to do because I did not have time at the time of release.

I get so bored of leaks. It’s not true until it happens so me knowing about it is about as useful as not knowing at all.

Even if you’re on the fence about buying it for PS4, you might hold off and this not be true.

At a basic level would be good to have:

-Native 4k
-60fps
-Improved/fixed textures
-Other graphical additions

This should be a free upgrade to existing PS4 players.

Would be even better if it has:

-An additional gameplay chapter or two (episode Tifa rumors)
-More character cutscenes and events
-New coliseum / VR bosses
-Improved/new side quests
-Playable Red XIII
-Rebalancing and improving the final portion of the Shinra segment (similar to what they did in 15)
-Secret movie teasing part 2

Would buy this as a DLC package and if they did release it as PS5 release with all the graphical improvements, it'd be a great complete version for new players.

It's still quite easily my game of the generation - best combat system in the series and the best FF since 10/12.

Square doesn't really do that, the best we can hope for is a reasonably priced upgrade.

if FFVII RE PC/PS5 indeed come out 2021, adding that if FFXVI also by same year then this year we get '3' FF game.

VII Remake - Q2?
XIV 6.0 - Q3?
XVI - Q4?

damn

The only company less likely than SquareEnix to do something like that is Nintendo.

Hopefully they will release a free upgrade for PS4 owners or, at least, charge a small fee for it. Also, please make it 60fps. I'm waiting for the PS5 version to finally play it.
And please create a real old school mode exactly like the original turn based FF7 battles. I would play double for it.

I want to play through the game again but am waiting for the PS5 version. I hope they can fix the texture work and make some of the bad looking locations look better.

It would be cool if they could put an option in the main menu to go straight to the colosseum and the shinra battle simulator with a ton of new scenarios. Be able to select any party member combination from the game, set up your materia, and go nuts. Also would be cool to let the players create their own challenges with picking the enemies, creating waves, setting enemy levels, and so on.
The battle system in this rocked.

Please don't give me false hope out here :( I've been holding off on PS4 version in the anticipation of a 60fps patch. But if this happens and it turns out feature 60fps mode for PS5, I'd be all set. If Demon's Souls remake is my first ever souls game, FF7 Remake Remaster would be my first ever FF game. Please be true!

Wise choice to start the series with this game because then the only way would be up. Although it might give you very false impressions of what this series is about.

Hopefully it's a free upgrade on PS5 for those that have the PS4 version. Definitely something I'd replay again, though likely closer to the next part.
