lol, they don't need to do anything, The PS5 is what it is, the Switch is what it is.
The market can support more than one succesful console i don't understand why all this worrying comes from, Sony's primary market/fanbase is on the AAA lineup and hardware that the Switch can't even run.
Their lineup has more global appeal and is west oriented (like GoW and Tlous2) has been for years BUT like PS4 right now 5 is big, expensive and has little games obviously everyone will look to the Switch right now..eventually PS5 will get an appealing japanese game library but it will take a good while.

And they won't ever release a freaking hybrid and compromise their lineup, GamePass is more of a direct threat to Sony than Switch is imo if Series XS becomes a hit

If the next DQ launches on ps5/switch day 1 that's the best outcome for all. Superior version on ps5 for PlayStation fans and weaker version on switch for those who can't afford or find a ps5 in stock. And a pc release a year or two later.

Xbox doesn't deserve the devs wasting time on it unless MS open their cheque book. I've been calling it for years, they won't be competitive in japan this gen despite our sales experts stating otherwise. Kerotan vindicated!

Ummm, Switch is enjoying its domination worldwide right now. Total and utter domination. As launch hype slowly fades fueled by lack of possibilities to actually buy one with nothing remotely appealing on the horizon, PS5 might dig itself a hole they’d need to work hard to get out of.

Last gen it went to 3ds which had sold the most and also a superior version to ps4 which hadn't sold as much. It later got ported to pc, switch and PS5. Did xbox get a port?

So the days of DQ going exclusive to the top selling platform are likely over. This is a good change for Sony because while they are the traditional home console Kings, portable machines sell best in japan every gen.

Japan is a big market and second only to the US. Giving away the second largest dedicated gaming market to one company is a very bad idea no matter what.

Nintendo Switch ltd sales in Japan at this rate is going to match gainst PS4 ltd sales in UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain combined.

The HW difference between the Switch and PS5 is so vast that it'd take significant amount of effort for a game developed for PS5 to be playable on Switch (but it would be easier the other way around), so I think it'll be highly unlikely that japanese-centric games will ever use the entire capabilities of next-gen consoles.

Also, Nintendo is currently running the handheld AND home console market in Japan, since the Switch is a hybrid. To not acknowledge that is simply delusional.

And yes, a single company single-handedly dominating the second biggest gaming market in the world IS concerning.
