Does it not make sense for both Microsoft and Sony to give console priority to gamers who are fans and actually pay the games ?

Surprised this was not done by both of them this roll out, negates scalpers and genuine fans get hardware first.

I don't know man. This is good for some consumers but it feels like a "fuck you" to the rest of us.

I'm telling you that these loyalty to PS+ has a chance to get the PS5 outside the online/retail shops.
If you fell "fucked up" you can always enter in the loyalty club... it is open to everybody.

All companies in the world gives beneficies, discounts, etc for consumers that pays their subscription programs... Sony is doing the same.

I don't know if in your country there is a hypermarket called Sam's Club? I mean... here you pay R$75 per year to have the right to buy in that hypermarket that offer discounts and some imported products... if you are not subscribed to the Club you can't buy anything there.

It is a great deal... you can find most of the products in others hypermarket but the discounts are really good... I stopped my subscription when I moved to a city that doesn't have the Sam's Club... so travel 120km to the closest one is not beneficial to me but if they open a Sam's Club here in Fernandópolis I will be happy to subscrib again.

Sony Asia just created a PS5 Buyer Club for PS+ subscribes... you can subscript to participate... just like I can choose to subscribe to Sam's Club here.

But if Sony did that WW for all preorders they could have avoided a lot of issues and consumers should be happy.
Preorders only for PS+ subscribers.
If you are not PS+ subscriber you still can buy at retails after launch.

Preorders of the new console should be a Loyalty program.

They are not penalizing anybody... anybody can buy the console.

Sony is just selling some to their exclusive PS+ subscribers... you can still buy the console outside that.

I know this may sound kinda overexagerated because right now it's only on Asia, but who knows.

But hey, I know this is fine if you really find cool the other things in offering, like the free games and the online playing. Thing is I stopped having said subscription around November, so me and the rest like me can feel very fuck'd up with this. I mean, there has to be other ways of checking an user loyalty.

And no, I don't know that super market but we have other's with the same system., so I get your point.

PS+ is probably good enough value that it will more than pay for itself if you play a handful of games a year. This sounds like a really sensible move tbh and helps reduce scalping at the supply side.

Now if I could get Ghosts of Tsushima for a good price I'd be set up for the next year...

It’s not like this is the only way to get a PS5 man. It’s not like this lottery in HK is going to have the only shipments of PS5 available for it exclusively.
