Cyberpunk 2077 sold 13 mln copies on all platforms ( number of refunds has been taken into accounts)

I think it's very naive to believe that any of these places would be bending their refund policy for this game if CDPR didn't specifically instruct unhappy customers to demand refunds.

It's not whataboutism to mention these other games, it's precedent. People were mad about these games. They wanted refunds. They didn't get them. What was different this time was CDPR's response not that these companies grew a heart or that the CP2077's bugs were a bridge too far.

Of course it's naive to believe that the corpos did the refund out of goodwill, as do Cdpr.
The difference is people were more mad this time than with 76 or anthem.

Cdpr isn't losing any money over any retail refunds. But Sony and Microsoft also understand that there is merit in the brokenness of the product, they are doing it to prevent lawsuits. Countries with good consumer protection laws are already looking onto the matter.

My point still stands that Cdpr created that shit storm to Sony and others which Cdpr doesn't need to handle. When and if the lawsuit drops, Sony and co can claim that they did their part and be absolved from a lot of liability.

This is a eurojank studio. They made two subpar witcher games, then lucked out with Witcher 3, which also was busted at launch. This is only their 5th game and a pretty big departure compared to their previous games.

They wanted to do too much with not enough time, released a game in an unfinished state, where even without bugs features would still be missing like the non existent AI etc.

Despite being a big company now, they are still releasing typical eurojank games that are never polished, no pun intended, on launch.

Everybody hails them as some fucking heroes in this industry, which is undeserved. They successfully scammed and marketed their way through to another big sales success.

I hope they take the money and fix all the broken stuff, which I am sure they will. Then they need to rework fundamental things like AI and add new stuff in etc. and I am sure in 6-12 months it will be a great game, not just a fine one.

And hopefully for their future games they will have better management, deadlines and true transparency with their customers and games media, not just a fake put on facade so fanboys can defend them blindly.

Didn't get the memo regarding the 14th Amendment
I think the game's quality (content wise) is deserving of great sales. I also think CDPR deserves everything that came their way when it comes to the negative PR (which included Sony taking it off PSN).

They obviously had their reputation shattered, so they're going to have to work extra hard for the next game to try to rebuild that trust but also work very hard on fixing Cyberpunk 2077's issues too. This game had the potential to be a Rockstar level hit and it's not there, but it still deserved to sell extremely well.

You can get upgraded version of the charge jump that allows you to hover for a few seconds and move. Its miss-able in the story.
I saw it in the store! It's at the Panam's settlement I think. I didn't know what exactly it does so I didn't get it.

witcher 2 was amazing so i don't know what you are talking about. and they are not releasing "typical eurojank" games. if the witcher 2/3/cp77 are eurojank tell me what bethesda or obsidian games are.

I bet the refund numbers aren't as high as some people would expect. I'd be willing to bet most people just shelved the game anticipating it will be in a better place in 6 months or whatever rather than refunding it.
The refunds are never a large portion of any product, which is why so many companies are pushing ‘money back guarantee’ and ‘lifetime warranty’ thing.

People really need to quit saying shit like "CDPR only made one good game" especially when they obviously only played The Witcher 3.

So I will make this clear for everyone.

EVERY GAME CDPR EVER MADE IS REALLY, REALLY GOOD. That includes first two Witcher games and Cyberpunk.

And no, the fact that these games are not on Playstation doesn't mean they are bad.

Right on. I actually replayed the first Witcher about a year ago and it still is great. The story is great, character progression, immersion - everything is there. It even has an NPC day night cycle (wtf Cyberpunk). And yeah, I was even enjoying the combat and never understood the complaints. Witcher 2 is awesome and witcher 3 is a GotG material masterpiece. So I don't know how CDPR can be eurojank in any sense of the word. They are not Pirahna Bytes.

Glad the game sold well and im sure it will at least double if not triple its sales over lifetime.

Now about cp2077 phenomenon, an example for ppl to realise how big it is, here link to some polish youtube video about it , where complete casual( the guy is sports journalist, reviewed the game, and despite the bugs(he even didnt call them bugs, too casual probably to know this word, he rather used polish word for a fuck up ;p) he still praised it including how it looks graphically and in his own words its best game he ever played(he played on ps4 and from the date of the vid u can tell it was 1.02-1.04 version :)

About 3 previous cdpr games, here polish review including players score back from the day first witcher launched, game wasnt back then widely known in the west but here in Poland it was universally loved altho not perfect game https://www.gry-online.pl/gry/the-witcher/z01348 (8,9/10 score made from over 31k players votes).

Witcher2 already got big in the west so u guys can see its scores, and most importantly scores from players on metacritic https://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/the-witcher-2-assassins-of-kings 88meta from journos, 85 from users, both pc and xbox360 versions are similary scored, only difference is 8,5 vs 8,4 userscore.

Witcher3 is what everyone knows about, even if they were sitting under a rock so not much point linking to its meta scores, but fk it, some ppl will still call it eurojank so eat it, haters https://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-4/the-witcher-3-wild-hunt ps4 version got most reviews with 92 meta and 9,2 userscore, and back in may 2015 not too much sjw outrage yet except maybe few usual suspects.

So yup all the cp2077 haters/sjw's maybe u guys finally realise how good of reception all the cdpr games got(including 2 amazing w3 expansions, with 1 exception- gwent, it was a cash grab so wasnt reviewed/got low user scores https://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-4/gwent-the-witcher-card-game).

And incase some1 doubts- im playstation fan(boy) here, loved and played religuously playstation consoles back from 1997(only then i could afford it back then as a poor polish teenager but i made it in time for ff7;), ofc all console players, especially ones playing it on base ps4/xbone should refund it if they dont like the game/performance/its bugs, thx to unprecedented move from cdpr they actually can unlike with other buggy games- f76, anthem come to mind. ofc it pissed off sony big time with their almost non existant/outdated refund policy- hence temporary ps store ban/delisting :)

Didnt play game yet, still waiting for new gpu so who knows when it comes, but the later i play it the better so not in a rush :)

Sorry, SuckerPunch. I love Ghost of Tshushima but Cyberpunk 2077 is my GOTY. I'm happy it has sold well and the game is a dream on PC.

Give 'em hell base console players because they screwed up. But remember this vitriol the next time Sony raises game prices by $10 to $20 and makes pay to play online cost even more. Use that fire again.

This really shows how much of a market there is for adult games. The story and content matter really are very adult. This doesn't mean violence and boobies. It means that you have to have some life experience, some mileage on your soul to even be able to appreciate this story. Someone too young in years or experience wouldn't be able to appreciate it.

Dark, serious and sexy is a winning combination.

ALMOST EVERY other video game story seems amateur and even silly compared to Cyberpunk. The story and characters are simply on another level.

This so much, choom. I've seen too many reviews and impressions from "respected" outlets and player thoughts handwaving the writing away as nothing more than edgy crap for horny teenagers. Everything about that is completely false. Just straight up lying.

All it tells me is they really didn't play the game for more than a handful of hours and came into the game with a chip on their shoulder. The list of recycled complaints, besides the bugs of course, is a cliché at this point.

Yeah, that's impressive. And if most of it was preorders no wonder Kiciński sold such a large block of shares shortly before the release of this game..:messenger_sunglasses:

Witcher 2 is subpar.
Its fine if u didnt like it(did u play it tho?) But yeh, its ur opinion and definitely majority of players/critics doesnt share it, i think u should post it 20 more times tho.
Its like u would keep telling ppl anthem, fallout 76, marvels avengers or that mtx SW multiplayer game from EA are amazing, no matter how many times u repeat urself it wont change the truth, that ur opinion is just that, ur opinion :)

I guess it turns out the combined forces of Reestera and gaming "journalists" weren't enough to cancel The Great Satan of developers CD Projekt Red and the Hitler of video games Cyberpunk 2077 after all. Imagine that.

A lot of people here trying to cancel them too, it happens with every hyped game. Some people just have to swim against the current and be self righteous in doing so.
