Cyberpunk 2077 sold 13 mln copies on all platforms ( number of refunds has been taken into accounts)

Wow, that's higher than I thought if the number truly accounts for all refunds. So they are still PLUS 13 million AFTER all refunds have been redacted from the total? That's massive.

All refunds reported by retail to them via email thought the campaign ""Help me refund"... that is what I understood.

With the amount of hype this had pre-launch, there was no way it wasn't going to sell insane numbers, especially since all the more glaring reports of the bugs and broken stuff didn't come out until just after the launch too.

The game is good but it feels like tons of features were cut and all that's left is a good but mostly linear story. I'm not sure it deserves so many sales. The open world itself is shallow and empty.

This is exactly my sentiment from playing it too. Even with only around 10 hours of play so far, I’m feeling the shallow/paper thin open world rearing it’s head. The game and jobs are fun, but it’s not the open world masterpiece RPG it was sold to be. This is without even touching on the other problems...

And that's why you use every dirty tactic to misrepresent your product until it's no longer possible to do so.

I'm sure a large percentage of those are people playing on Xbox One and PS4.

if they don't like it they can refund the game

Games rarely sell because of their own merits, but more on the merits of previous games. The Witcher 3 sold a large portion of these copies.

It's similar to how well games like Resident Evil 5, Final Fantasy 8, etc sold.

Good for them tbh. Been hearing nothing but bad shit in the last couple weeks. Don't get me wrong, I was also criticizing their decisions too, but we also have to take a look at the positive stuff among all the negatives. It's only fair.

They aren't fucking over their customers like some other studios have done in the past. They're offering full no question refunds for everyone including PC, promising to fix the game on all platforms, and paying employees bonuses regardless of hitting the threshold.

I mean, aside from the bugs and awful old gen versions (for which there is no excuse), it’s imo the best game of the entire generation. The characters, storylines, the size and scope of the world, I’m not even sure something will top it this generation.

I hope everyone who got screwed by the old gen versions gets a refund but for the rest I think it’s well deserved.

Not bad I guess, especially considering the backlash, meme, etc... I'm playing and enjoying it without big problems (there are bugs, but nothing I've seen yet in tons of other games).

🤣🤣 You're about 20 years to late for this crap
20 years ago games were not released broken... in fact how old games are very well playable without any patch is really telling a lot of what happened with the industry in that age of "day one patch".

damn

how's this compared to the GTA games?
It was never supposed to reach GTA level of sales to being with... so let's not compare them.
13 million is really great.

Nice !
It’s a pretty good game at time with no real competition.

( I’m heading a third and quick okay through as a Corp... best choice out of the three IMO)

The pc version isn’t as buggy as the last gen console versions so you have to take that into account when you are hating on it.

Hey we screwed over a large amount of our player base but let's brag about the HUGE numbers we put up. This is exactly why they hid the console footage. It wouldn't have put up these numbers if people knew what they were getting into

GTA5 sold 11 million units on the first day of release. 15 million during first week. Granted, it was only released on Xbox 360 and PS3 at the time too.

exactly. cyberpunk's launch would be bigger than RDR2 if the game was not broken on consoles (counting PC of course. rdr2 just launched on consoles). rockstar games print money.

they are not bragging about anything. this is a financial report written in POLISH. they are a publicly traded company

I finished the game with several different endings.

It often feels more like a linear action adventure game than a RPG.

Your choices very rarely matter and neither does your starting path actually.

The open world is just the place where the quests question marks stand...

Marketing for this game was really heavy on lies and false promises.

They CAN, but most simply won't bother. Businesses know this and can exploit it.

You could sell a game and ship out a game that literally can't play past the first 15 minutes in any state, and a large percentage of people will never follow up to get a refund.

what exploitation? maybe they won't bother because it really doesn't bother them. thought about that? maybe they are i don't know enjoying the game :messenger_open_mouth:

It is called quality. I trust Rockstar to pay day 1. After Cyberpunk, I’ll not buy their next game at launch and I was there for W3 day 1. I hope the majority of people also follow.

I guess we will have to see how legs do. As we have all seen with TLOU2, these controversies do affect the legs of the games.
Don't think its quite the same situation as TLoU2. That game popularity was almost entirely reliant on the characters, so its no surprise people twisted their nose at the route they took the story to.

Here, criticism is largely directed towards technical issues. Though there is flak towards the game itself, they're not too diferent from the kind new AAA releases are always getting. In short, game itself is solid.
