Nintendo Switch is the Top-Selling Console in November in the US with More Than 1.3 Million Units Sold

This should give us a better ballpark for next gen consoles, above 1 million and below 1.35 it seems.

According to the NPD Group, which tracks video game sales, the combined sales of the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite systems hit over 1.35 million units in the U.S. in the month of November, which included Thanksgiving and the key shopping day of Black Friday. With these strong sales numbers, Nintendo Switch achieved another milestone as the best-selling video game console in the U.S. for a record-breaking 24 consecutive months.

Its not bad but I do think this is disappointing news for all three consoles. I expected more stock from all three companies.

I reckon it will be a long time before any Xbox or PS5 outsells the Switch. When those consoles become readily available the frothing demand will have calmed down. At best they might start outselling the Switch in 2022.

The stock must be divided globally.
The US isn't the only market in the world, and Sony won't really care about NPD records if they're selling every unit they can shit out of the factory.

That means SONY allocated less consoles than that to USA, which is less than I expected, personally. If they had shipped 10 million they'd all have sold, everyone knows it.

I am currently playing Zelda BOTW for the first time on my Switch Lite. Its a hell of an experience in my hands! (Thats what she said)

This game just doesn't get old. Feels like something different is happening every fucking time I play it. Really feeling the magic again lately and I've been playing this game since launch.

I keep thinking what the fuck would you do if you saw this game right after Zelda 1, 2, 3, or 64. You wouldn't understand what the fuck is going on. Amazing how far this series and games in general have come. Gotta appreciate that shit.

Switch kicking ass and taking names. It's a reminder of how disconnected we can be in our echo chambers here, arguing over single digit frame drops and spec sheets while mobile and the Switch absolutely dominate the market and ultimately dictate the future of development. Mobile in particular, I'll digress on for a moment. In another thread not too long ago (the Chrono something one?), we got a glimpse at how many cutting edge games in the pipeline are on being made cross platform with mobile, PC and then consoles possibly as an afterthought.

The maket is going to see some dramatic shifts in the next 5-10 years.

I have not been playing my Switch (we have three) in a while. I am going to start treating it like a handheld to see if I spend more time with it.

I bet it's super cheap to produce now too. Nintendo making a lot of money on hardware alone. It's funny how no one bats an eye at buying a cheap tablet for $299 and at the same time make fun of the Series S which murders it in power at the same price.

What come back.
Vita had no games your point?
What’s your point about the switch and no one wanting it ? You just trolling I guess... I mean something something DS and 3DS killed the play station portables.
Oh look how powerful they were. Beaten by a bunch of gimmick consoles. Mwhahahaja

Are you gonna cry to Kaz ? Can’t hear you over all the noise of the PS4’s fan. Enjoy your wifi router with blue lights.

I mean Good luck playing your game when you have to download a massive patch each time.. laughs in tri-force

the PlayStation and all it’s lines are just rebranded Nintendo consoles anyway. ... pffffft

Good luck selling your copy of what ever PS5 game for near full price. What’s that some Zelda game keeping a high price second hand ?!? I never.

That’s how you troll.

Also I am not to be taken seriously.
Yes the switch is cheap. But sometimes people just want cheap easy and lot of fun.

I am seriously thinking of getting a PS4 in a few years on the cheap as some of the games look class.

Really wonder why you came here just to shit on the console.

Switch is a nice little piece of tech. People love Nintendo. What's surprising about it?

Because it is Nintendo, it is not really surprising.

If it would be any other brand, it would be surprising

because Switch is overpriced, toy like quality, specs were bad even on launch (related of the high price), too many games are low quality/simple, ergonomics are shit (vita is also uncomfortable without grip add-on), games are way too expensive (launch games still at full price), many "big" games are wii u ports including BotW, 3rd party ports look like puke and run like snail because of the cheaped out hardware and so on.

Anyone else would sell system like that and it would not succeed.

My point is that because people "love"(how do you love an object?) Nintendo, they get away with things that others would not, which makes it kind of sad. As in if they would have to try their best, they would not go with half lights and gamers would get better games + system, right?

I get it why people like it, but I personally dislike that lot of potential is lost to the lazy business tactics of making cheapest possible thing and sell it on highest price.

I got mine about 6-8 months from launch and after the launch year there havent been anything really interesting. Only "nintendo game" I like is BotW, and xenoblade 2 + mario&rabbids were nice.

But after that = nothing, or it is hidden in the thousands of vaporware titles.

Does it sell like crazy, mostly yes (never sold out here unlike all playstations tend to do)

could it be better with minor changes? definitely yes.

My point is, that Nintendo fans and gamers + media dont criticize them enough so they get away with it.

As an example if a reviewer would hate Mario odyssey and think it were the most boring game of the year (like I did), could they honestly review it like that and give it 2/5? No, their career would be over because "nobody can hate mario"-politics.

While nintendo audience gives them all the money they want, they dont give them enough pressure to grow into something better.

Because, why would they try more when bare minimum is enough? Like those pretty girls whom get everything free in their life, they never have to grow into something better.
