Cyberpunk 2077 Comparison - Xbox Series X vs. Xbox Series S vs. Xbox One S vs. PS5 vs. PS4

WU4kAQW.jpg

Nowhere near steady, down into the forties on this video

It drops to around 50fps when it streams new data but otherwise it's usually stable at 60fps, even in the big city from the footage I have watched.

Slightly higher resolution, more ppedestrians, and better SSAO on Series X

Beware, they are comparing the XSX version running at 30fps against the PS5 version running at 60fps. But in the 60fps mode the PS5 version is outperforming (with a big gap) the XSX version.

Is the xbox sx running in performance mode like the ps5 ?, dam this is a shit show everywhere, they should have delayed it.
No. The XSX version here runs at 30fps.

Everyone seems to forget, this game was 9 years in the oven iirc. After watching some reviewer, streamers ... i would be bored out of my mind while doing one of those "detective flashbacks" segments.

Will buy 2021 for a tenner.

It seems Ps5 is locked 1200p, xsx is dynamic 1200p with drops to 1080p. Soon we will know by vgtech or DF or nx gamer
From other forum. Both using performance mode:

PS5 - Peak Resolution: 2176x936

Xbox Series X - Peak Resolution: 2688x1584
The difference between both is 21% Horizontal and 51% Vertical

I've also noticed that the Xbox has better texture filtering by a small margin, and higher resolution shadows. This can be easily seen during the day near the apartment area and looking at the shadows cast by the bridge on the road.

The guy have a problem with the game, that sections was much smoother on my PS5.

Edit. You can compare for yourself. Just recorded this gameplay. I’m sure he is playing from a external hard drive

Eh... without a frame counter is hard to tell...

No. It's running at 30fps on XSX. You can test yourself: Pause the youtube video (at 60fps) and press the shortcut to see the next unique frame. You'll see it's updated on only one on 2 frames on XSX.

Yes, I have run the video in better condition and saw that, that's idiot to use two differents modes for their comparison.

LOL so some people are trying to mud waters until proper comparisons arrive, I'm shocked :messenger_tears_of_joy:
As an advice wait for people who actually know how to do this stuff instead of believing bullshit from random users on message boards.

Didn't the witcher 3 get tons of patches to make it playable? So the choices are either play in its current state if performance isnt a big deal or wait for the patches.
I played on PS5 and had no crashes and the frame rate was rock solid for the most part.

Feel sorry for PS4 users but thems the shakes. It’s a 7 year old machine not sure what to tell you. PS5 version is a solid base to start from that will only look better with time.

Maybe for this video capture. I'd wait for the DF comparison we should get in a few days. 30/60 frames would affect resolution before it correlated with NPC's on screen btw

Link Please because I am skeptical

However the interesting part, is that the Playstation version does seem to be better due to consistency. It's a really odd situation, because I have went back and forth countless times and it doesn't feel like it quite makes sense. It's almost as if while the PS5 is running at a lower resolution, the dips are less frequent in the dynamic scaling and allows the image consistency to bring a better overall presentation. I think it oddly has to do with the fact the shadows are a lower resolution as well. Since there are less dark edges around the TAA and Dynamic Scaling on objects, it seems like it allows those edges to "pop" a little more and appear crisp. I assume this is purely due to the TAA/Scaling issues with blending nearby pixels during the variances on Xbox.

I noticed less dithering on distance foliage as well on the PS5. The performance between the both is similar, but that can be seen on videos already.

All and all it's hard to pick one of the two. They're both identical nearly, even though they shouldn't be.

It looks... OK I guess? Nothing special.

Nice how people decided to leave this part out.

Is not even 16:9 format. The image would be stretched at those resolutions.

Actually 2176x936 is almost the same resolution of 1080p so why not use a 16:9 format and 1080p resolution. Smells like BS to me. Probably he doesn't know how to do it.

edit: a 2176 horizontal res, using 16:9 would get you a 1280p resolution which is close to what has been reported before.

This is not a joke, it actually looks this bad on Series X. Console version is absolute joke, Night City is turned into ghost town because of weak cpu. Either play on PC or wait for PS5 next gen patch/ Series X tools. Empty streets are deal breaker in game like this.

Seems like this game should have been released next spring....

That guy is now saying the XSX screen might not be legit.

This whole thing has been a clusterfuck of misinformation combined with console wars and pc master race.

I buy the hardware excuse to an extent

Sure, the game is demanding. But c'mon, its running at 720p. It should run better than this on base consoles.

RDR 2 runs at 1080p 30fps. Cutting the resolution to 720p gives then A LOT of power to use from the console.

There was never an open world game that ran at 720p on currentg en consoles, to put it on perspective.

They had to develop for 8 platforms at the same time, and its pretty obvious to me that they didnt spend so much time trying to optimize the game for current gen hardware.

Hopefully, they will improve them with patches, because its really embarassing right now

A clusterfuck of what ? Tweets?
Comparisons period. Some using different modes. Some using Xbox One versions and saying they are XSX. All the wildly conflicting reports in regards to resolution, framerates, etc... will just have to play for myself later today.

Can't imagine anyone on the base consoles being happy. Sub 20 frames was barely tolerated in the 360 generation and certainly wasn't acceptable this past generation.

Agreed. Absolutely unacceptable, wtf was going on at CDPR?

Hugare Hugare Completely agreed.

Rockstar released GTAV literally the year PS4 and XONE came out knowing it was coming out and (crazy I know) FOCUSED ON THE FUCKING PLATFORMS THEY PROMISED TO RELEASE ON!

PS4 and XONE versions came a year later, PC versions came a year later. Red Dead 2 PC version came a year later as well.

They don't just fuck everyone over desperately trying to cash grab, hide reviews, stop people from show footage of bugs etc. This game should have had its focus on current systems, period.

Compare the minute 1:10 from that video with my video (0:37).

If you can’t see differences it’s you don’t need take care about fps
Indeed it's much better in your video in the same exact scenes. I think VGTech and NXGamer upcoming videos are going to 'surprise' many people about this game.

Who the fooking and freaking hell does care about this comparison ??? This Game must be played on a RTX 3080, there is nothing more to say. I'm not a PC gamer, I never was, but a part of me is thinking about...maybe a beast of a PC built around a RTX 3080, beside the PS5, for me, I say again, for me the best combination of Next Gen.
