The Player’s Voice Award is a three-round bracket judging games entirely based on popularity with fans. This includes some games that released a bit too late to be considered for other categories at The Game Awards 2020. In Player’s Voice, each participant can vote for up to 10 of the 30 nominees in round one. In round two, the show narrows the nominees down to 10. Participants can vote for up to 5 of these nominees.

We ain't outta here in ten minutes, we won't need no rocket to fly through space
Holy shit, good on it. Not even what I would vote for but it's a great game and I'm glad people recognise it, I'm just kinda surprised given some of the other stuff on that list like AC (both varieties).

Well deserved. SP really accomplished something special and in many ways unique I’d say.

The only real competition was AC and that isn’t really a game that inspires much devotion amongst its players.

TLOU2 was too divisive so that wasn’t going to make it.

Rest of the list is distinctly average.

We all know TLOU2 was the real winner but this is a massive L for era so I'm happy all the same. Too early on my Ghost playthrough to judge personally. Crazy to think Sony is now battling itself for the GOTY award.

MAYBE Neil will think twice before mouthing off on twitter. By all means have a laugh afterwards but he got what he deserved doing it before. A lot of people under his wing at NG will be pissed all their hard work won't be recognised. Such is life.

I think a significant chunk of its votes (not all!) were not genuinely due to a love of the game , but I'm not disappointed with it winning. Though I'd personally put TLOU2 ahead of it, I absolutely loved my time playing GoT and it still is one of my favourite PS4 exclusives nonetheless, so I'm happy Sucker Punch gets an award!

It is a game that continues to keep giving. I finished it on PS4, but it has had a new lease of life with PS5 and the Legends update, I'm still loving exploring the world and remaining side missions.

I think that whilst possibly not the game I would say is the 'best' game of the year, it's one of my (maybe actually) my favourite in many ways.

As It should.

Personally I would so far call Yakuza like a Dragon my GOTY but Ghost is great too.

I am not sure about that. Ghost is really loved by the people look how good their Metacritic User score is.

I can definitely get behind this, the Legends update and the 60fps patch for PS5 were great support for the game, the game is certainly deserving of the award.

People seem to really like this game, have been tempted to try it but cant shake the feeling it looks like a generic Ubisoft game I would normally avoid.

I wouldn't describe it like that at all, I really recommend trying it if you're interested in the setting!
